  1. Cheers - yeah the second time I got out which the second vid is from it stopped raining and the track started to dry out towards the end, times started to drop. Still wasn't enough to get a feel for how it will behave in the corners and under heavy braking but I will get there. Got my eye on a Winton test n tune on Friday...
  2. In the morning - Dale took it for a quick test drive around the block.
  3. Been watching this thing go together. Saw it heading out for a test spin on Saturday - looking very good, gets up and boogies too.
  4. The mrs got some vids of turn 12/13 on to the main straight. If only every day was a track day. G'day good chatting. Hopefully catch you at the track in your own 32 soon!
  5. Ah - and its a flamethrower - spits flames at every opportunity, need to get a gopro on some of that action!
  6. First track shake down all ok - car held together nicely. Unfortunately conditions were far from ideal with pretty consistent rain and oil spills. This equated to cars going off in pretty much every session which made for a slow frustrating day. Our group just missed the 1.5 hour window where the sun came out and the track dried out so wasn't able to get a good feel for the car, get the pace up and put in any respectable times. Looking forward to getting out in the dry - did a quick scan for track days this week because the itch hasn't been scratched. Temps were all great ~85-90c water and ~100-110 oil, with the oil cooler in the radiator I just need to keep the car running after sessions as the oil dumps all its heat into the water. Will put in an override for the fan so I can idle it with the fan on to get the heat out. Final session, started pissing down as we were lining up to go out. I think it stopped raining a little part way through this session.
  7. The installation guide recommends centre of the rood for the most reliable satellite lock. It says it uses the roof as a ground plane to block unwanted ground reflections.Did a fair bit of driving around today and GPS didn't drop out once, so its working well.
  8. Now that sounds like a whole new level of excitafraid! Nice work...
  9. Sandown this Sunday coming so have been getting the car ready for first track outing. Picked up a vbox lite cam / gps logging system - not the best value for money system particularly given it is not high definition, but it makes life very easy to turn up, slot in a memory card and get on the track. Also does pic-in-pic with second cam, GPS & CAN bus logging / data overlay with the video. Software also makes it easy to compare laps with previous outings etc Install is a bit temporary at the moment, going to tidy things up and get a switch panel going for a few bits I want control over. GPS antenna - have since moved this across to the middle. The little OLED screen hooks in with the vbox and can give speed, lap time, predictive lap time, split data readout. Looking forward to having a play.
  10. We can't make it Bec - getting our THC on
  11. Any movement? When can you rip a skid?!?
  12. Yeah I would be lying if I said I don't want side pipes shooting flames and popping ear drums within 50m, but reality is this exhaust flows like a mofo and won't get me kicked out of track days or yelled at for starting it up to get it off the trailer in the morning.
  13. Well I think we can safely say thread is delivering on title as promised... How many tooth brushes have you gone through to get it to this state???? How on earth did you get the plugs, wiring, hose clamps so clean... man! Love the dedication well done.
  14. I forgot it was only an 80% familiarity run that we recorded. So not flat out and was mapping out brakes, handling and getting used to the 5 speed ratios again. Looking towards a track day soon. In the 100% runs it was happily hanging its arse out and holding a nice slide through the first basketball court bit. It turns in really nicely I am impressed. The weight difference is what really grabs me, it feels light and nimble compared to my 34.
  15. Ha yeah I know me too - I am hassling my mate for a vid taken of a full run with the go pro on the side... stay tuned! I am putting an integrated twin camera + GPS + lap split system in but its not cheap so couldn't get it in before the first event.
  16. Ha the "mix pack" that was all Raspberry
  17. Brackets for the brake calipers were finished late last week, hats were not ready last week so used my existing hats / rotors / pads and they work extremely well. Car had it's first outing on the weekend and its an absolute ball to drive. Unfortunately about half way through the day one of the factory hoses underneath the plenum popped - have put it down to the higher pressure radiator cap I have been running, and the fact it has probably dried out after sitting around without coolant for several years. Got this shot of the hats today - have come up very nicely - just getting them anodised black before they go into use. No video system in yet, but a few grabs from Belsil80's camera in here - exhaust is doing its job while keeping noise down.
  18. Thanks to all the usual suspects and volunteers who run the day massive effort. Absolute tops work. Still had a ball even though had to park it half way through. Higher pressure radiator cap + impossibly positioned hose that's been sitting around without coolant for a good few years is I guess bound to do that eventually. Leon, Jack, Campbell, Marky, Russ and Jake who all lent a hand / tools / coolant to try get me going or get the car on the trailer - big love. Saturday night was a cracker, it stepped up a few gears and descended into madness out of nowhere! Was still a little rough yesterday morning. ----- turns out after checking with Kat, our head unit wasn't stolen haha - DECA is safe Anyway, love you guys and bring on November!
  19. Nice! WV2 definitely same as the the s15 pewter colour, they didn't release them in KV2... trust me I spent almost a year obsessing over paint codes Agree though, not sure why they call it Pewter - looks nothing like my Pewter mug!
  20. It's WV2, I have a KR4 and it is lighter. WV2 is the same as the pewter s15 colour. The ztune gear was painted I don't believe it's had a full re spray. Car is amazing in the flesh!
  21. Crazy stuff! R32 vspec-ii were sold with a 245/45/17 so same as the 33
  22. Well the hole is critical really, drill press for a straight round hole, then tapping wouldn't be hard from there. Not many would have vice, drill press, tap + kit & oil. If you drill it by hand, hole will probably be a bit out of whack. Or you could just buy these from here and sleep easy at night http://www.rhdjapan.com/trust-greddy-sensor-adapter-m18-warning-52033
  23. I went through all this with sensor adapters - NPT (National Pipe Thread) is the US one, and PT/BSPT (Pipe Thread/British Standard Pipe Thread) is the other one common for non-US stuff. Gets very confusing. They are not interchangeable, so you need to make sure you have the right one. As mentioned above all the Defi gauges are PT/BSPT, those Greddy adapter plugs on that link are PT/BSPT which I am using them at the moment for Defi oil temp & pressure. Not sure what the standard Nissan sensor is though. Your other option is to get the plugs that come with the Greddy sandwich plate drilled and tapped. Get someone that has a jig to do it though - it's hard to do by hand.
