Good day despite the smaller than expected turnout. Hopefully the official sau putty cruise will be a better turnout because its a great road for a cruise. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Was nice to meet all those who came, nice group of guys and was good to have a reason to get the car out on a decent road

Well global warmer and I are currently sitting at the grey gums cafe halfway up the putty. Just had something to eat but doesn't look like anyone is turning up from Sydney end. Bit of a let down but we'll wait till about 12:15 anyway. Looks like I better call up the pub and cancel the lunch booking.

I haven't once said or implied yous don't know what yous are talking about. If anything its you who was talking as though I don't realise there's more than one gtr tuner in Sydney or Jim/Dart don't know they are talking about. If you look back I actually thanked everyone for they're comments, suggestions and input. I can't control the others opinions on here as Unfortunatly I'm not God. they made there opinions or thoughts just as you did yours. I don't doubt you worked at advan for 4.5 years and do know quite a lot about these things and if you know know Jim well like you said then give him a call and ask him yourself why he did what he did as I am far from clued up on the technical side. -

Thanks for the positive comment STATUS. Definatly still a great car for they're age in both drivability, performance and looks in my opinion. I'd definatly rather spend 45-$50000 on one over a new SS commodore or something. -

*Are you sure about that lol There isnt only one GTR mechanic in Sydney mate, lots of us on here have done it for a living* I'm well aware of this fact as I rang about 5 different workshops before opting with Dart and funny enough, Advan where you say you were, were one place who said I could well get high 200's to 300kw with stock turbos and the mods I have so I'm not sure why there is so much doubt in the power figure? -

Ohhh dear. I think this will be the last time I post anything about performance etc on here or try to give someone's work a wrap. I'm The first to admit I don't know everything about the car therefore ask questions and leave it in the hands of the people who do. I simply thought I'd share my experience and thoughts of the work Dart performed and I'm happy as I'm sure many others are too including the guys at just jap who use Dart for they're cars and recommend them to they're customers which I think is a clear sign of confidence in them. Yes, maybe there are more people on here that work on/tune cars for a living which may explain why a lot of people like to question the work of others/bag them out. Some of yous may find it amusing to read etc and I'm glad I could provide you some entertainment and thanks for the input. And as for having a good income... yes we do get paid well for what we do but the more you earn the more you spend, trust me lol. I live week by week at the moment! Haha. -

I haven't ignored any advice, hence calling and asking the tuner himself about the issues people have brought up on here which I am greatful for. But the tuners advice is the advice I will be taking as he knows the car better than anyone on here, has seen, tuned and worked on more cars than anyone who's commented on here as he does it for a living and has been for years. I could have ignored any advice but didn't. I called to double check and he has reassured me. -

He may have said GTR's in general but made it quite clear he has seen a lot of R34's running stock turbos at this level with no issues. As someone earlier in the thread said... he's been running 1.2 bar for 6/7 years with no issues. If something happens, it happens. You don't play with cars and modify them if you don't realise there's risk. I'm happy with it in more than just the power increase. It's a better car now in general. -

I gave Jim A call this morning as he said to give him a call with feedback after driving it home and if I had any issues etc. I questioned him about the boost level and he said 1.15 bar is no issue at all and he has tuned between 70 and 80 R34 gtrs over the years without any issues so I think its fair to say he knows what he's doing. As for the dyno reading, Jim said his mainline dyno has twin retarders which is where the readout is lower than the actual power being made and he confirmed the car is making about 280kw. If he was going to bullshit I'd think things would be the other way round putting higher figures on paper to make it look good. At the end of the day I'm 100% happy and confident in the work done. The car has a lot more response, torque, better fuel economy and the car starts first turn of the key which it had troubles with before and for the price I was charged for fitting of the injectors, power fc, tune, oil change and filter, new spark plugs I couldn't ask for more. -

Yeah, you're probably right global warmer lol. I'll come round Sunday if you're gonna be home? You gonna have your car back for next Sunday? Nissan gtr thanks for the vote of confidence... seems like you've done well and proof that it is clearly possible. To back that up and those questioning the power output with standard turbos, when calling around and talking to a few reputable tuners in Sydney, quite a few said that I could see anywhere up to 290/300kw including the guys at advan who someone mentioned earlier. Thanks for all the input positive or negative none the less -

I'm not trying to bullshit power figures, I'm simply going off what I was told at Dart and I don't think Jim would be bullshitting either. Whatever the actual power output is I'm happy with at the moment... I'm not looking for a 20kw cock extension like some people do. -

ido09s it was definatly Jim. There are only 3 guys there and Jim does the tuning. I called him a few times while the car was being tuned. And yes, he did say the dyno reading on paper was 20kw less than actual power figure. Feel free to call him and ask -

well I guess everyone is entitled to they're opinions but I'm happy with the way the car is. Jims dyno is apparently de-tuned 20 kw for race cars or something so power readings are 20kw less on paper than actual power figure. So car On paper was 199kw before and 261kw after but Jim said actual power is about 280kw. Totally different car to drive and big difference In power. I can definatly feel the increase and was told car could have been pushed even further but he kept it safe. The power figures are on paper And I will post them soon. I'm not saying anyone's opinions or suggestions are wrong. I'm happy with the car and Jim definatly seems to know what he's talking about and doing so I have faith in his work aswell as researching positive feedback from others who have used dart before I went there. -

Oops, accidentally pressed add reply before I was finished. Exhaust and boost controller were on the car in Japan. And yes he did mention the fuel pump being 12 years old and said that if need be he would put my walbro pump in but factory pump is performing fine and probably better than the walbro anyway. As for the boost I'll call Jim and ask him but I imagine he has done enough tuning to not do something that's gonna cause damage. -

Oops, correction... car was making 219.9kw at the wheels before computer and injectors. And the car was running 1.15 bar on high boost setting when I bought it and who knows how long for as exhaust and boost controller were on the car in lap
