  1. check your pm
  2. hmm... this person doesn't seem like too much of a specialist lol. I couldn't tell you 100% man im not mechanic. Just hope they check all power steering hoses. Even something as simple as the power steering reservoir with a small hole in it maybe could cause air leaks. Good luck, let us know how you go if it gets sorted. Im interested to know what it was in the end.
  3. Ok, so why is air building up in the pump. If the pump was rebuilt obviously something else is the cause. Start from your basics. Check your steering rack boots, are they split? If they are there is there a possibility shit has gone in there and stuffed something?
  4. Ok well, bosch pumps can be found anywhere, repco, bursons etc. Try Kudos Motorsports on here he has them pretty cheap. Modifications with Walbro I mean engine mods, I hear they shit themselves easily. The bosch pumps are best by what I hear. You can get your car tuned with stock ecu by doing a re-map on it. SAFC is a fuel cut defender. Why do you want an SAFC? Are you getting fuel cut issues with your car? Hope this answers some of your questions.
  5. If youre running rb20 ecu ca18 cluster will not work. You need rb20 cluster. Mate has R31 skyline with dodgy cluster we tried pintara cluster which look almost completely identical, plug in and readings are out of wack. Good luck.
  6. Yes. Vehicle speed sensor just another fancy way of saying RPM's lol.
  7. Or you could buy an aeropro nissan -> pioneer adapter. Theyre about 15 dollars. I used one of those when I installed my alpine into my car. Saves you a big headf**k.
  8. Thats the new aftermarket actuator ticking. Nothing to worry about.
  9. I know this might sound stupid but did you check the drive belts on the car? If theyre worn they screech too when cold and if bad enough dont stop even after car is warm...
  10. What sort of timer is it? I know with my timer (Greddy FATT) that I have it connected to the Vehicle Speed Sensor signal from the ECU which is pin 53. Vehicle Speed Sensor signal is basically engine rpm's. I've attached a screenshot for you if it helps. Good luck.
  11. Well, how certain are you that your car has actually done 64k... A genuine 64km car wouldn't have noises like that not for 5 mins at least till its warm. But if you are convinced that it's lifters thicker oil couldn't hurt... All depends on how tight your motor is. A higher K motor will do good on 20/50 but I think its a bit thick.... Will cause you some bad cold start issues. Just start the car and get a screwdriver and use it like a stethoscope see if you can track down if the noise is coming from the rocker cover OR broken studs. Worse comes to worse a decent mechanic can track it down for you. Good luck man.
  12. I get 350k's out of purely city driving, I do absolutely NO freeway drives. Car is dead stock. 97 r33 gts-t.
  13. I wouldn't waste my money on a brand like that. It just pumps fuel. A bosch 040 or 044 would do the trick. I only say bosch as it is a proven good brand and not too expensive either. Walbro isn't too bad depending on how much modification you want to do, but I hear they dont last anywhere near as long as a bosch. I am changing mine next week just for safety's sake anyway. Car starts properly and all, but I dont like the weird noise it makes sometimes when it primes. Cheers.
  14. I've got 2 broken exhaust manifold studs on mine as well, but no tapping noise which is strange. Dean, you in Vic? Any chance of some cash and a slab your way to help me do the studs? lol
  15. At the end of the day stock or not, I will always run 98, I wouldn't take the risk...
  16. I got the tomei exhaust side for mine. $200 for the one gear. I wish I got the JJR now for a lot less lol.
  17. Yeah not necessary. As far as idle adjustment on ecu is concerned chances are you probably wont have to do it. Stuff around with the screw on the aac after its all back together and then if you are having idle issues look at the ecu screw. Not hard man, just take off kick panel on passengers side and ecu is right there.
  18. Coolant temp sensor play any role in that? I wouldn't think on a dead cold start it would?
  19. I hear ya bro. Good luck with it man, if you need a hand let us know. Here are the tut's you need anyway: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...html&hl=aac http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fi...html&hl=aac http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/RB...ml&hl=plugs Cheers.
  20. If you can't hear the pump priming then chances are it is dead. Try getting a mate or something to bang the tank while youre cranking, if it starts then its fuel pump 100%. Try driving the car with over half a tank of fuel see if it does it. Had the same issue in an old car of mine where I would do a right turn and the car would stall on me. Over half a tank of fuel car was sweet, was fuel pump obviously. And anyway for a 250 dollar investment its well worth it for your GTR, don't want it suffering fuel starvation and then BANG...
  21. Start off by cleaning your aac valve, diy tut is on here, look it up and do it! changed your plugs lately? if not do it! check your coilpacks while your at it. Once again there is a diy tut on here for that too. Chances are its your plugs that are worn and during cold start the car runs very rich and could possibly be not burning the fuel properly in the cylinder causing a miss/hesitation. I had a similar issue in my car where I would start it and it would idle shit for a few sec then come good. After a new set of plugs the car starts like brand new again. Good luck. Cheers.
  22. try 5w or 7.5w/30 oil. should make it better. its just the engine cold and all oil is at the bottom of the motor takes time to go to top. lifters 100%. nothing serious.
  23. Terrific, thanks everyone for your replies. I like the defi gauges a LOT but damn theyre expensive for 3 gauges... Any experience with the jjr gauges? Are they accurate? And it doesn't quite specify if they are electric gauges or mechanical. I don't really like the idea of hot oil and water lines going thru into the cabin of my car... Cheers, Evan
  24. I looked but didn't really find anything useful so I will ask. I want to get oil pressure/water temp/boost gauges but when I fit them I would like them to sit beneath my head unit where the din pocket goes. Is this possible? If so, how can it be done? I reckon they would look mint there. Any other suggestions? Cheers, Evan
