Well they came good after a while, still a bit murky. I used some light scratch remover on them and rubbed it in real hard. The lights look practically brand new now.... Wonder how long they will look that way though.

Heh, not sure as yet, I haven't trial fitted it yet. My next day off now is Friday so it's gonna have to wait. Im hoping its the latter as I can just re-cable it to reach the terminals.

For a non-import vehicle it is $199 for an import it is $260, seems a bit steep but you have to remember, you would much rather spend that amount and get the car checked as opposed to paying 15k and then finding out the car is a dunga! I had driven to phillip island last night and back to melbourne with one tank. Got back to Melbourne on E, drove to work today, then home, then to the servo, had 464k's on the odo. Filled up (Synergy 8000 Mobil) and it was full on 51 litres. So there was heaps of reserve left. I reckon I could of cracked 500 if I wanted to, not game enough to run empty tho Ev.

So since I haven't had a PM, i'll give Mike a shameless plug Found my car advertised on ebay of all places. Looked at description, photos etc. I was VERY impressed from photos alone how clean it looked. Completely bone stock. Went there next day in person with a mate of mine who has had his r33 for about 5 years now, we test drove it. I was extremely impressed how tight everything felt etc. I'd looked at a few R33's prior to that one and I wasn't impressed to say the least... I was pleased and my mate and I thought the car was mint, so I called Paul Bell from State Roads (VERY good pre-inspection service) and got the car inspected same day. Paul finished up took me outside for a smoke and a discussion about his findings, he told me he had inspected hundreds of skylines in his time and that was one of the best he had seen. Only thing he found with it was steering rack boots need changing and a manifold stud was broken, other than that, nothing, no rust, no imperfections. Car had factory paint thickness on all panels execpt for right rear quarter which he said had some cosmetic work done to it, no big deal, nothing structural. We went back and made him an offer, Mike agreed and I left a deposit. Went in next day paid for car... Had to wait 5 days (and God was it the longest wait of my life!!) for VicRoads due to them being booked out for a pits inspection before registration. Picked the car up and have been rapt ever since. Sorry for such a long post. Glam Groups (Mike) gets my thumbs up. He mainly does compliance work these days so it was a lucky find for me to have a car at his workshop. yeh it is sealed. has caps but they cant be removed and has a clear indicator on the top to show battery condition. Nonetheless ill do a trial fit today on my day off while i install my head unit into it too.. thanks for the replies hey.

I want to change my battery. I have a 3 month old battery in my old car which I want to use to replace the jap battery in my R33 (which was dead due to car not being started in ages). Question is, I think the new battery I have might be too big to sit upright, can I rest it on its side to fit it in the R33 or not a good idea? Battery is fully sealed unit btw. Ev.

I second a group buy too! I might play around with them on Friday as it is my day off. Ill try a bit of cutters on the lense see if that helps otherwise it's inside the light as I suspected... Grr.. I've only had the car for a week Cheers.

Just want to know where I can buy some brand new r33 series 2 headlights from? I washed my car the other day and now there is like a haziness to them, I cant explain, I thought originally it was just condensation from the wash but theyve been like that now for 2 days.... Other than buying new ones is there anything I can do? Ev.

Damian also recommends Hawthorn Body Works, on Burwood Rd Hawthorn. Had my bonnet and guards resprayed there. A little pricey but damn they did a good job of it. Go there and ask for Jason or Adam.

Probably been covered before, but I'm interested to know.... What do your gauges sit at at cold start up? Then when normal temperature is reached what does it sit at? ie. idling in traffic? Mine on cold startup sits just over 4 then when idling in traffic is just slightly over the 1st quarter on the gauge. This could make an interesting little poll.... Ev.

Hey guys, Just picked myself up an R33 S2 1997 GTS-T, fresh off the boat. I welcome my new addition to the family he he. As you all would know, coming off the ship the car does look a little shitty and could do with a nice detail. Any places in Melbourne I can take the car to get detailed (interior/exterior), I'm guessing a place that does prestige cars or something. Price isn't really an issue if the car comes up SCHMICK. I'm sure this question has been asked 100 times, but my search function doesn't seem to bring anything up or I'm not looking hard enough! Thanks. Evan
