  1. only between that rev range and not whilst changing gears, im hoping its nothing serious because otherwise the car is VERY nice clean and straight engine seems to be in good working order too, but ill leave that up to my mechanic
  2. i recently went and had a look at an R32 skyline, and the owner told me he had recently replaced the clutch, now, his reason for selling is he doesnt drive it anymore, he said he had driven the car 800k in 8 months since changing the clutch (he showed me receipt for it and it matched up.) My question is because of the new clutch (i think) when you are cruising and the rev range is between 2000 to 2500 rpm there is a noticeable shudder. The shudder *seems* to be coming from the rear. would this be caused because of the new clutch? If so will it go away with "wearing in" or is it something more serious that needs to be looked at? Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks in advance.
  3. thanks for the replies people, much appreciated.
  4. I had the misfortune of a bit of treesap falling on my car and couldnt work out how to remove it. I asked around and was told a bit of warm soapy water and NON-ACETONEnail polish remover is all you need to do the job. Before you try this test the nail polish remover on a bit of the car where if paint does happen to come off you wont notice, IE. under the bonnet etc. First wipe the affected area with the warm soapy water, then dry. Then apply a bit of nail polish remover (NON-ACETONE!!!) on some cotton wool and wipe off. With a bit of luck it just wipes straight off. I found this to be a good quick and cheap solution. Hope this helps any of you out there. Regards, Evan
  5. I called this place in Melbourne called JapCar on the Hume highway (www.japcar.com.au) and asked about a 100k service on an r32. They quoted me $650 to change spark plugs-platinium-, timing belt, water pump, oil, coolant, oil filter, air filter(if original) Inspect drive belt, bushes, tail shaft, wheel bearings, gear box and diff. etc. 2 questions. 1. Has anyone ever dealt with them, and if so, are they any good? 2. Is that a good price and what needs to be done for a 100k service? Thanks.
  6. fantastic, i saw this thing.... it is in AWESOME condition. i just hope it doesnt sell FAST..im HANGING to sell my car to get the money.
  7. anyone think that $17,500 for a 93 model R32 GTS-4 is too much? It is in VERY good condition..but 17k for an r32? let me know on your thoughts.
  8. dude, trust me and go the GT-T, id rather an R34 over an R33 GTR any day, look better, more fuel economical, weigh less, and if youre not using it on the track eats 95 percent of cars on the road out there , dont look as common as the R33, i say this because are so many R33 GTST's around most people wont tell the difference between GTR and GTST. Regards, Evan
  9. Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Now, i have read the thread on what to look for with Skylines when going to inspect/drive them. Just to go into further detail, what is "normal oil pressure" ie. what number should the gauge be sitting on when you are looking at it, at cold start, then normal operating temp etc. What "strange" noises should i be listening for? What noises are normal? How should the gearbox and clutch feel when driving? ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. If i took it down to my local mechanic what specifics should i be asking him to look at. Im sorry if im overdoing it with questions, but ive been to told to be very careful with turbos and to get them checked out PROPERLY and THOROUGHLY. I don't want to be buying a lemon. By the way i am also considering an R33, but my preference is for a 32. Cheers for the replies Evan
  10. Hey guys, i've never owned a skyline before and was just wondering how much you think is a decent figure to purchase an R32 GTST, which year is best, what to look out for with these cars etc. I'm a little scared of purchasing a skyline due to all the bad stories ive heard with people selling and buying lemons Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Evan
