  1. Hi All, My AC drain pipe was sitting against the dump pipe on my R33 after I put in a Hypergear turbo (ATR45SAT). I had it taken to JEM to get tuned but on the way home it started smoking so I bit the bullet and cut the drain pipe so I could get home without it smoking up and catching fire. I'm not sure what to do now because if I use the aircon its going to drain onto the dump pipe and steam, rust and more than likely crack. Has anyone come across this before? If so what did you do to fix it or get around it? Pictures below Thanks!
  2. I just finished installing my ATR45 which is bigger than the SS2 had to do the following Unbolt brackets from the engine side holding lines to the block Undo water line off the side of the block Bolt the water line to the turbo Bend/Stretch the water line a bit to get it to get back to the block After doing the above its fine, have a few mm of room between the turbo and the line but it fits none the less. Tao can confirm but that's pretty much what he told me to do and it worked
  3. I don't think its much to worry about. Could even be old oil if you have a "used" intercooler or something. I had this in mine, didn't worry too much about it
  4. Wrong section of the forum me thinks
  5. Never heard of the "soft choo" but the difference/lurch whatever you call it would be the compressor clutch engaging and disengaging to as it reaches desired temperature or tries to cool down to the desired temperature. It's normal for idle to drop a little or for you to feel it in the car when the compressor engages or disengages because its additional load on the engine.. As for the sound, nfi why it makes it. Does it sound like its coming from any particular area?
  6. Agreed - Was just typing this as well until it popped up that you replied.
  7. Not much longer left now, I intend on going to Bathurst not this Saturday but the following Saturday and I'll start going to the wetpan as frequently as we used to and go drags a lot more. I've learnt my lesson!
  8. Thanks for the confirmation. BUMP
  9. It's not really a matter of money, I'm looking at combined efforts but correct I guess the cooler would net greater gains. I'm looking into ways to avoid getting defected too I guess I can scrap that idea hahaha I'm not sure how to go bigger as the dump pipe for example is already a bitch in its current positioning. I think if I went Vband outlet it might be easier. Open to ideas on exhaust also (Already agreed decat would be a good start). Edit: Tao also mentioned the exhaust flapper mod which will be a next start too.
  10. Nice write up - I looked for a guide ages ago when I did mine and couldn't find any so I just thought stuff it and ended up working it out. A guide would have been nice back then
  11. JEM teed my MAP into the FPR line - Guess it works and is tried and tested.
  12. My hacks are: Don't change a clutch on the ground with stands and ramps unless you don't care about your back. You can lock one spanners open end onto a ring side of a bigger spanner for better leverage When changing the clutch jack up the front of the motor to make the box easier to get on again Have a couple more just can't remember now
  13. They actually sell red ones for around the same price that already screw straight in - No cutting required
  14. Fair enough, I thought they would have improved spool time but I guess not (Makes sense, longer distance for gasses to travel). I guess I'll just shoot for external gate and e85 next then
  15. I get my license back the day after
  16. I'll get it done when it goes for a dyno tune next, I've had too much problems with cops so I don't want to risk it haha. Thinking of going 6boost manifold and e85 to gain some faster response times
  17. Chuck a plug in and crank it by hand to make sure they dont bash the moment you start the motor
  18. Agreed, try this first something about them being balanced. I put an exedy kit in my car and don't have an issue (flywheel and cushioned clutch plate)
  19. Hi All, Selling a list of parts that came off my R33 GTST S2 recently. Stock injectors $150 Stock FPR if I can find it $50 Stock ECU (Not sure if nistuned or not will check tonight) $200 if not nistuned $400 if it is Z32 AFM (Genuine - Will provide receipt of purchase from KMS) Brand new with box and plug - This was supposed to go in but bought a haltech instead so went MAP $180 or $20 for plug and $160 for Z32 Stock turbo $250 - No shaft play, no leaking seals etc Factory intake pipe $20 Negotiable on prices PM me an offer - Message me on here at anytime. Can supply pictures if need be
  20. Thanks Stao, I'll give it a go - Car has RB25DET non neo not sure that they had VCT (maybe I'm wrong) From the dyno and driving I find that it's on full boost around 4500RPM
  21. I can confirm the lag on the 45 is quite high (posted my dyno graph in here somewhere earlier). I don't mind it but then again, it's not a track car. Maybe one day I'll get sick of it and go SS2 or something of the sorts.
  22. The VP racing fuels E85 additive is claimed to do similar and also provide lube to the engine. I'm considering welding my internal gate shut on my ATR45 in the coming months when I got for an E85 tune, going external gate etc to see if the boost control improves (I would assume flow improves as well with a screamer) - Any thoughts on this?
  23. Already building a list of new parts etc, I'll start buying in a few weeks. FMIC (Plazmanan maybe?) FFP 100% Plazmaman Will get JEM to do the installs of both while there I'll get eflex setup and also get launch control setup on the Haltech Also going to buy wheels, coilovers and a new diff/shimmed diff but I'll do all that myself. I also need to get a bolt repaired for my crossmember but that can wait till I get my license back in under 14 days now.
  24. Be careful, you might want to use graphite powder or dry lube instead of wet lube, only because it might attract dust and dirt causing further issues
