evaporative type are sucks hence cheaper...!!! they dont work if you are in the humid area... or one other days where humidity is too high to use evaporative type. Just get the other type if you are willing to strech that $$$ bit further... and for winter get the reverse cycling. Go and see Paul's mate @ the THE GOOD GUYS @ cannington. he looked after me when I needed few thing cheers Joe
