Hey guys Wondering if you can help me out with this annoying problem that has happened since changing to a 3' front/dump pipe and hi flow cat from its stock parts, the noise occurred straight after they bolted on those parts and on my way home the sound is like tiny rattling metallic or cicadas and it only happens on a certain RPM such as near the 2000 rpm range, i also noticed that the rattling sound only appears once the engine/exhaust is hot, the rattling is more pronounce from inside the cabin when driving against a wall. The cat and front/dump pipe has no heat shield so it cannot be them. I took my car back to them to see the problem and they said they don't hear anything when driving my car other than the turbo spool up louder then before but everyone that has sat in my car before now notices it too, they also took apart the cat to see if perhaps anything is inside (nothing) and re tighten the bolts but still to me the annoying sound is still there and they said they don't hear anything. On a another issue (Sorry if i am asking too much ) but I've read on many forums that after changing the dump pipe i need to get a tune to prevent boost rising or detonation etc, but i have personally been to my local mechanics and they say it is not necessary unless i am chasing big power or getting more KW out of my pipes and cats. My GTT is an auto and is pretty much stock with these aftermarket pipes and cat, i am not chasing big power and not after attention that is why i just changed to these 3' pipes and cat but left the catback stock to avoid attention however from what i have read is dangers of boost rising, detonation, o2 sensor and ecu problems has made me thinking i need to get a tune to stop my car from blowing up. What do you guys/girls think as on forums they say a tune is a must but my mechanics say it is not needed. This is confusing the crap out of me......

Alot of people here recommend Royal Purple but are they recommending the normal one or the XPR one? Is the normal one part of Group IV?

Unique Mods For An R34?
Elegant Skyline replied to Ericjayrol's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
How about installing an antenna like the one on those highway patrol cop cars, IMO cars with antennas look aggressive and serious Like this and notice his wide tyres as well, For me i might get a little sticker on the side window of my favourite anime which is Higurashi or Madoka, NOW THATS JDM! -

Absolutely New To Skylines Need Help Asap
Elegant Skyline replied to NoobR32Owner's topic in General Maintenance
I know this is just common sense but in order to get attention from people while you drive past the important things are sound then look, performance wise is just when someone ask the specs of the car since your priority is looks, i suggest getting it wax and polish professionally, nothing beats a skyline cruising past you shining and glazing from afar then install a catback exhaust, skylines are well known for their unique RB engine sounds they produce and exhaust work will make this more pronounce as well as aggressive. Might i also suggest getting led taillights as well as they look sexy...very sexy. Oh and watch out for trolls as they tend to pick on the 'new' people that ask common sense questions to make them feel important as we all need to learn somewhere right?, just ignore them or better yet have a go at them as nothing gives you as much fun at beating a troll at it's own game -

Since you say the stock airbox is fine, is there a better aftermarket airbox or ways to get more airflow for the stock airbox? -

I keep having to topple up my power steering fluid every 2 weeks so i was thinking of getting those bottles they sell at SuperCheap Auto or am i just wasting my money? How much do mechanics normally charge to replace the power steering pump and hose completely?

If done correctly, is there disadvantages or advantages with one another? So far from gathering information from other topics i know that disadvantages for Panel Filter : K&N you have to use oil to be effective which is obviously a disadvantage I heard that stock airbox will never have good enough flow of air compared to a Pod with CAI unless i can modify the stock airbox Advantages for K&N Panel Filter : Good for 300kw i heard Good for Cops Good for low end power? Quietness Disadvantages for Pod : Legality is a grey area regardless if in box or not Induction noise (I like it btw) In summer the engine bay will get hot and heat-soaked despite boxed with CAI Washing car may get water into the pipe More expensive to replace Filtration is poor compared to panel Advantages for Pod : Good for highway driving? Looks better Induction noise fuel saving? Better for top end performance? So that is my opinion, did i miss anything? Any more relevant information regarding the benefits of each one i may be missing because i'm thinking of replacing my GTT K&N hi flow panel with a shielded Apexi Pod with CAI for induction noise, fuel economy and acceleration benefits, I don't like making more unnecessary forum questions so its up to you if you answer my bonus question, i'm after faster acceleration or response, i'm a fan of drag so what mods would you recommend for a near stock auto R34 GTT thanks very much guys Oh i know that i have a pretty much bad reputation here since that thread i made ( You know which one ), i would like to offer my apologies and start fresh with you guys, i have no idea how to remove my signature since someone else helped me with that so just ignore it if you can
