  1. You got oil pressure. Pop the lid and start the engine up from cold and put your hand around the exhaust manifolds and back of turbo's to check for leaks. Can get noisy when they leak, happened to me twice.
  2. Been there done that. RHS of engine firewall behind the suspension tower is a triangular opening which is blocked with foam. You will need to undo two 10mm nuts that hold the vac booster reservior above the hole. Feed your wiring through the opening and stuff the foam back in there. Lay your cable down the side of you floor to the back. You have to pull out the rear seat and your plastic door sill protector. Hook it up and get the tunes cranking!
  3. $4400 a year with famous classics for my 32 GTR.
  4. It's all good anyway. Happened after XMas It blew up in QLD so I got onto Option 1 Garage in Bris. Within 2 or so days they sent me a secondhand one complete with shifter and transfer case for $890. It's in better nick than my old one was. Took me 2days to do the whole job in my parents front driveway, pain in the a##. Still going strong. So thats why I want to do something about the busted box. I'll end up selling it as is I guess
  5. I got teeth too when i took out the drain plug. R32 gtr gbox. 3rd gear blown but other gears worked, but it was very noisy and rough. Now I've got a busted box(complete with transfer case) and don't know what to do wit it. I could sell it as is or fix it up$$$$ expensive, and use it as a spare.
  6. Mine has the opposite problem. Doesn't want to idle at all once you try to start it while it's still warm. Keeps trying to die.
  7. Another problem with so many "fakers" is that when the genuine article comes along, people who don't know about the guards, eng note ,awd etc write it off as a GTS-T as this has happened to me a couple of times. Esp being an r32 with N1 kit. Probably cos so many GTS-T's have a GTR front bar/kit etc... In the end I just leave em at the lights anyway! It's all good. I respect these cars and that they are good in their own way (GTS-T) as they kick ass. Just my 2 cents worth
  8. R32GTR, n1s, 18psi, computer, 3in exhaust, 700cc injectors saw 295 kw ATWs. Had holidays and blew up gearbox.
  9. Less turbulence by separating the air outlets of each turbo, ie better airflow.
  10. Mine a 1992 model. Might be okay then. I've only hit it (9000+) a couple of times unintentionally! so I'm thinking a shift light would be a good investment.
  11. Mine are down to .7-.8! HKS IRIDIUMS
  12. I was going to say check your piping from turbos to throttle. Hose blew off inter cooler and lost boost quick. But it could be more complex than that.
  13. Sends signal to hicas steering to unload system when not needed etc. Switch in hand brake, brake and steering sensor also go to hicas computer.
  14. So 9000rpm+ in my stock internals 32GTR isn't a good thing!!!
  15. I was out there last night afyter 7pm. Maroon red r32 GGTR. Only got a best time of 12.5 out of three runs. R32 GTS 4 bet me on my first run cos I bogged it. Need to get the computer tuned for Aus stuff, not Japan!!
  16. Spotted a silver r33 gtst with chromies last night in Paramatta pulling out of servo to the lights. It was modded and went pretty hard. Beat him twice.
  17. Cool. Didn't know that. Any other ways besides seatbelt tags and vin nos.
  18. Damn. This is an old thread..... Time to find a newer one!!!
  19. I think mid way through 93 the clutch went from a push type to a pull type clutch. The only advantage of buying a later model skyline too is that it's a couple of years younger, but that doesn't mean anything because most get a thrashing more than others. Some (I only said some) of the Aussie delivered models had problems with the bores or block cracking (bad production batch?) especially when they were modified.
  20. To tell whether it's rings or valves is to pour a small amount of oil into the spark plug hole to seal the bore and rings. If compression is higher than before, it's the rings. If it is still low then it's the valves, head gasket etc. Bought my 1992 r32 GTR from a private seller who had it for 2 years after personally importing it. It had r33 n1 turbo's hks computer, tripple plate etc. I though $25000 was good for it's condition as it needed a bit of work. How wrong I was. They are money pits like the guys say but when they are running well you just gotta love the feeling of owning and driving such a cool machine. I do as much of the servicing as I can myself to save money and I can't reccomend highly enough a servicing manual for these cars.
  21. VIN chassis number will tell you what year it is. Just check it out on the net.
  22. Coolant cooled turbos with oil pressure fed bearings. R32 GTR. Plus a coolant cooled oil cooler behind oil filter standard on all GTRS. Checked the servicing bible!!
  23. Some of us weren't lucky enough to have imports that came with standard airboxes and ducting. Mine came with HKS pod filters with no partition so it would suck heaps of hot air. Decided to make up a fully enclosed airbox that had holes for BOV return, intake piping and the all important cold air feed from under the headlight. I made the box template out of cardboard and masking tape. I plan to make the box out of fibreglass when I get off my ass and actually do it. I'm also thinking about getting a pipe to go from the bumper opening next to the intercooler (HKS intercooler so theres less room around there) to the hole under the headlight. That looks like the hardest bit to me.
