I bet the Lancer isnt Rice to Grant its a thing of beauty to him- so therefore not Rice at all. Rice is a term made up as stated above but is carried onto most vehicle external mods by a lot of small brained individuals that cant afford the kits etc themselves to make there everyday ride into a one off machine with a bit of flair

Seems to me Rice is entirly dependant on whos or the type of car it is attached to rather than what it is: eg A huge wing on a silvia got Rice comments at one Skyline cruise and these came from someone that had a similiar Wing attached to a Skyline. i have had mine on for about 12 mths no problems so far as the supra doesnt have a grill or anywhere for crap to get into the engine bay anyhow . i take the headlight out for the drags to get more air flow- i can only comment on what i have used i wasnt recommend anything

i have a (Monster brand pod) it seems fine its a washable foam type my son has a HKS one and that is good also so its mainly a price thing i think my one cost me $40 approx fitted with the adaptor
