Im running 1 bar, with pods exhaust, and even then at low revs i can still hear the air sucking through the pods and the bovs. but mine arnt like the after market high-pitch-sneez things. its more of a KOOSH (its hard to write sounds.)

They didnt itemise it. they just sent one letter with a $853 fine inside. they said the fine for driving an unregistered car was min of $511 and then I think the other $342 was for speeding and the power to wehgt. A mate reccons the fine is something like $50 or $60 for power to weight.

A simillar thing happend to me. I was doing a bit over 90 in the back streets near my joint, and 2 unmarked cop cars pinned me. the first cop was being a pain the arse, the second said something like "Youll be lucky to get away with JUST loosing your licence for this." but the pair of them didnt get a speed on me and i didnt confes to what speed i was doing so. 2 weeks later i got a fine for 9Km/h over the speed limit (1 point - i didnt argue with that) and also for driving a car too powerfull, driving a manule and not to mention driving an un-registered car... For your sake lets just hope they dont send anything. However if you do get something, If I was you, I'd take it to court.

Hey. Hey. I’m sure it has already been asked, but how many KW could a standard bottom end of an RB26DETT handle comfortably? Because I don’t want to have to strip it down and change the bearings, pistons and blah blah blah… My R32 is off the road for a while (turbo issues), until I have bought or saved up enough to get all my little bits and pieces. This is what I am thinking of doing… I am thinking about changing my turbos. I was thinking about the ball bearing Garrett 2530’s or maybe 2540’s and if I am licky I'll go gor the 2860's that are on the GCG web site (are these any good?) - I haven’t looked into it much. And then I want to do my injectors, fuel pump, dump pipes, oil cooler and filter relocation kit, new cam gears, and a power FC. I have Apexi pods on at the moment, but I want to buy new ones, and get a few little bits a pieces repainted in the engine bay. Just to “bling” it up a little. I just bought an absolute banger of a head and its got some major work done to it, so the power and airflow shouldn’t be a problem up top, But would I need to change the intercooler and plumbing too? Thanks Linton. I live in VIC, but Im off to Adelaide next weekend, so Ill deffinatly get the 411 by JMS If I can. After my little durnken episode on the weekend, I was speeking to some mates that reco engines and build high proformance engins and yadda-yadda... And they said that it is deffinatle a turbo issue. They said that one or mabe both my turbos are shot and needs to be recoed. They also recon that if it is just happening just after a quick boot, or when the engine is under load e.g. putting it down a gear to slow down, then is it pumping oil arond faster because the revs are higher, then my turbos are "dumping" oil through the dump pipes and straight out the exhaust. It isnt burning the oil, just dumping it. I am about to put my new head on, but now i dont know if it will be worth it, because now I still have to get the turbos fixed, and proper extracors too. So think Ill just put my money aside and blow it in one hit and get it all done. Any one have any ideas on how much I would be looking at to rebiuld/reco my 2 turbos for? Or should I just pugrade? thanks JUSTIN

When i got it ts said 1023?? now... It says it has done 1045?? its had a few oil changes since. But I just changed the oil on monday night. As in the 20-6. I spoke to an old mechanaic at my work and told him about my car. He seems to think that it could be that the cam or belt has slipped on the exhaust side. And thats why it backfires badly(if there is a word...). And its not a normal backfire, its more louder and you can feel it thorugh out the car. He also said if it was a turbo problem then I'd know about... as in smoke galore, and no power what so ever. And to top it all off, im busy this weekend, and on night shift next week, and going to adelaide the next weekend. So if I can ill go see if JMS may know anything. Any more sugestions would be grate right now. thaks JUSTIN

hey all.... I have a GTR 32 and for the last week my car has been back firing a fair bit with white/blue smoke just poring out the exhaust, but this only happens when the engine is under load, like whenever I put it down a gear to slow down (engine breaking), or when I have it in a gear, and I accelerate and come off, there is backfiring, but not straight away, and then the smoke appears... - before you all jump the gun and say I have blown a turbo, I can still get full boost. Can this happen with only a single turbo? I have had a look on here if i can kinda self diagnose the problem my self.... but there are too manny gadgets and gizmoes on a Skyline that could cause this problem. I think I have narrowed it down to one of these... 1 - One or both of my turbos are on its way out. 2 - Needs a tune like something chronic. I have noticed that the whitnes marks are slightly off, about 4mm, from where the orriginal marks are on the silver timing belt cover thing. 3 - There maybe a seal or something like that around the turbo that has cracked and leeks oil under load from the engine breaking. 4 - Either the rings or valve stem seals are worn and needs to be replaced. But if this was the case, it would be blowing smoke all the time. Before you all make assumptions, my car is stock, apart from exhaust, boost controler - but thats been turned down by me, and then back to 1 bar of boost at race pace about a month ago. Thats all the engine/preformance mods. Also... about 3 nights ago my cat exhaust light came on for about a minuite so i stuck the car in manual and rolled for a bit which fixed it, then I sped up to see if it will do it ageain. but it didn't. ......So any ideas? Any healp or sugestions would be much appreciated. thanks JUSTIN

I know this may sound a little stupid but has anyone else out there named their car? I named mine YOSHI. partly because the GTR-32 was nick-named the first Godzilla. And Godzilla being a Japanese monster, i then thought about YOSHI from "The Mario Bros." Their both Japanese and monsters so it was decided that my car was to be named that. I then got someone at my work to translate the de-registration papers, and he said that the dudes name is Yoshi... How about that for a co-inki-dink! My mate also named his car Christine... after the Plymoth from Stephen Kings book/film "Christine."

...nah man. i did that to my GTR32 just to see what would happen when i blew off the intercooler plumbing, and my car ran fine. however... it wouldnt rev any higher that 2500rpm... it would sound like it has hit the rev limmiter. -
cool... i found a sticker on my dash cluster, it was in japanese tho, i still dont know what it is. but when i got my GTR32 i was cleaning it out, i found half a hard pack of cigaretts in the back. so i gave them to a mate and told him to smoke them. he did, and said they tast stupid... also i found hair...

all good now... last week, i had a few days off work, and had a decent look behind the front bumper, and to my suprise the intercooler plumbing blew off!!! yeah thats right - off!!! so i put it on, plugged in the AFMs and off i went. that was a relife. i thaught i was going to fork out a couple of hunderd bucks to get something fixed which i could have done my self.... which in the end i done my self anyway. thanks for the help tho. i have a GT-R32, and my exhaust vibrates at about the 2500RPM mark. it does it in any gear, and even in nutral, i have a kakamoto from the turbos back... nice note too

ok... get this....... my car is still doing the same shat. so put it all back together, and left it for a few days. this morning i popped the hood, unclipped the clips that clip on the AFMs and started it up.... Fine. idles the same as before i had the problem. i let it sit there and idle for a while, jumped in and took it down the street, BUT i couldnt get boost. is this because i unplugged the two plugs and it wasnt reading it??? any-way, i took it home, popped the bonnet, plugged in only one of the clips while it was still running, and the car started to idle real low again. then stalled about 3-5 seconds after plugging it in. so i unpluggerd it, started it up, and plugged in the secnd. the same resault. unplugged it, started it up with out the plugs in, and it was fine. WTF is up with that? have my AFMs shot them selfs??? or have i shot them... one more question.... whats the difference between an "Air Flow Meter", and an "Air Mas Meter" ??? they both measure the air that comes in right?

chears mate... im not into all this mumbo jumbo stuff... but im learning, and for a muscle head like me, i think i know a little.... i have twin airpods and im %99 sure i know where the AFM is located. and cause of the twin airpods, ill have twin AFM's right? BUT as for the "air flow regulator," whats he look like, and where is he...? i have wednesday off work, so i plan to pull it all apart give it a decent clean. and i am ment to use break cleaner. thats what its called right? and as for the coil packs, and spark plugs, i plan to get a full survice done, oil filter relocation and cool kit fitted in about a week... just waiting on payday. thanks for the help so far. hey all. i have the same problem with my GT-R32. it happened all of a sudden last night, so i did a search to see if i can self diagnose the problem my self. on cold idle its fine, but after a few mins it starts to spalter around 500-800 RPM, with black smoke out the exhaust. is this the same problem? and to fix it, is this the same? thanks JUSTIN

GT-R32 7. its a nice and firm ride, a little bumpy, and a pane in the arse then you go up drive ways that are steep and your ballencing on 2 wheals... but im happy -
oh yeah mountain racing.... if you want a buzz and you wanna see if you can out run the police, come to melbourne. and go up and Mt dandenong (i think thats how you spell it) theres about 7 different was to get on and off that mountain and the others next to it... but if you talking about the real deal with comps and prizes and stuff, i have no i dear...

...as far as a house goes. i dont even want to think about it! my old man works for devine homes, and my folks are just getting a house built out in the sticks some where now. so hopefully i might be licky enough to kick them out there... but who knows, im 20 now, and mabe in about 5 years time i might be ready to get a house, and mabe a missus. i work about 50+ hrs a week, on a pritty decent wage. i have the car ive wanted all my life, and now i wanna make something of it. but the last couple of days i have been looking around. and i think i might buy a new N1 block and start from scratch, or get some RB26 from a R34 and work the hell out of it, and then slam it in to a R32... oh-ho-yeah... also, my mate is building a 1972 celica, the old TA22, and is going to throw a 351 into it and he says hes gonna get a lazy 500BHP from it. so i want something to keep up to him too.

i was also thinking about getting a N1 engine, over sized, forged pistons and so forth. but theres too much stuffing around, tracking it all down, waiting for parts and stuff like that. the mines is a gold like colour. stock looking but an RB is still an RB it may sound stupid, but im hoping to get a lazy 850bhp. thats with a full interior. im hoping to crack low a 10 with luck a verry high 9

Hey. Plenty of you all will read this and think your a dreamer, or what the hell for, but I am after a brand spanking new RB26 for my GT-R32. it will take quite a few months to gather the money. But… I’m seriously thinking about building a drag car. I know its going to take a few years, but I’m up for that. I have been looking around from site to site, forum to forum looking for different engines and the performance they can offer I haven’t had much luck either. I’m talking about a full engine here, not just the block and head. I want the pistons, valves, cams, crank, the works. A few of my mates say TURST, HKS, MINES do that sort of stuff, but I haven’t seen them or read about it either. Right now I’m slowly gathering and putting bolt on equipment on my existing engine, so when I get the money for a proper engine, ill throw it all on that. I am willing to spend huge amounts of money to get the huge amount of power. At the moment I’m thinking MINES. If anyone knows any better and where I can get something like this from or who to talk to and who can help me import/buy one, I’m up for suggestions. Thanks Justin

oh-ho-yeah... the first was my GT-R32... such fun. what can i say... im addicted to boost. its almost stock, but on a cold night, it feals like an F1 racecar... one of the first times i opend it up, i remember like it was a week ago... hang on a sec, it was... i know it was stupid, but i just had to. i was fanging it, and i got up to about 170 and realized what i am doing, then backed off. the G.O. and the WHO are amazing
