Hey, As the title suggests, I'm after some help with upgrading my computer. I've got a 20det with the basic to mild mods and I want to know why and what you would recommend. Basically I'm tossing up between the Apexi power fc and a microtech. As far as I understand, there both pretty well much the same (except for the afm), Leaning more towards the Apexi?? Your response would be great, as Im looking to do this next week. Many thanks in advance

I got a Hks timer. Not exactly discreet but when I bought my car, it was installed in the din under my head unit. A real pain in the arse. The wires are drilled through the bottom, so I can't pull the console sorround off. Not a bad looking spot but. If you want to go discreet, install it in the glove box or in the centre console.

Tof, Could you do me a favour, Next time it happens could you play around and try and find which wire it is?? While yours is a analouge, Im sure the loom is the same. Just want to know if it's a particular wire or the loom it's self. On the other side of things it could be any number of particular wire(s) in the loom. I just don't want to pull my head unit again, just yet. I've mucked around with the wires before, but it didn't make a differance. If I know wich one to manipulate at least which one works on yours then I'll give it another crack. Cheers, Jules

I've had my car for around a year now and my air con wasn't working when I got it, just needed to get it re gassed but, As of around 4 or 5 months ago, my car has being blowing hot air down to my feet. As with Trevvy it doesn't matter what the settings are or even if the unit is on or off. (I can change the fan but still receive a bit of hot air down at feet) So I have come to terms with just pushing the recirculation button, it drops the temp by about half a degree, but on a 35+ degree day you welcome the little change for a whole 30 seconds.... Any how, I tried the self diagnostic feature 4 times, twice with only the first step (pushing the heat button once) results as follows: first two times: 20. third time: 25. 3, 41, 5. : fourth time: 20. 3, 41, 5. My car has being in the shade for at least 3 hours and I left the doors open for a while, 5 minutes between tests. (I will try again tonight with a cooler ambient temperature, just to see what/if there’s a variation.) So WTF?? Just to complicate things a bit further too, I've had a second after market head unit put in as well, but I have tried wiggling and manipulating the wires around but makes no diff. Hey Guys, Was going to come down to join with sau but I didn't leave till late due to a few problems. Saw every one as I got into Apollo bay, but you were all leaving to go back to the motel. Drove past and gave you all a wave, did a u-turn and came into the motel. So if your wondering who it was in the black 32 who parked for about 2 or 3 minutes then left, that was me. Was planing on comming over and saying hello and so forth, but I really had to get going again due to time. Too bad it didn't work out, but thats the way the cookie crumbles some times.... From what I saw it was a pretty good turn out. Next time.....

go to a locksmith and you'll get a replacement barrel for the ignition and you can get a replacement door lock. For a door lock coded to your key, walk out the door if he charges you more than $50. Ignitions aren't cheap, make sure too that you don't just hunt the cheapest price or you'll end up with a cheap job.

My tab broke off as well, then indicator fell out when driving over a bump. I cable tied it back in but it came loose again and smashed. Bought a replacement one, tab was broken right at the back after i tightened it up too tight (dickhead) Got a small screw and drilled a new hole into the cross member, mate, she ain't going no where now. Or if you don't want to drill a second hole, get a real good poxy resin or a plastic metal bond glue and stick a washer to the broken tab. Make sure too, that you put the pin into its little home in the 1/4 panel.

Yeah, mine makes like a 'whoop' sort of noise when in first gear depressing the clutch. Sounds shit house
