This happened to a certain cefiro driver I know in the city last weekend, except his car was still on defect so he shouldn't have been driving it anyway. But the short of it is they punched in his plate number, saw the car was defected, started chasing him, he ran and got away. Didn't really matter though cause they already had his plate number. When he got home there was a nice message from the Adelaide cop shop waiting for him. Bye bye lisence me thinks.

Spot on, Regency have more power than the police do when it comes to keeping cars off the road. When I put my car through it wasn't currently on defect but left there with a few. They did me for really stupid stuff too, like having chrome window washer jets which are standard on my car, yet on my dads hilux the whole front end is practically chrome so sometimes I don't understand their logic.

Yeah, I realise the letter says that, but we all know that when they are fitting the plate they are going to be looking for stuff that isn't quite standard whether they are supposed to be or not. I honestly think they get joy from taking peoples cars off the road

Thats wierd as, when I got my car from NSW, it was already complied and registered over there. I bought it back and went to do the id check at sturt because I thought that was all I had to do. The inspector there noticed the lack of compliance plate and game me the exemption forms. I called up regency and queried whether an engineers cert would suffice instead of having a full inspection and they simplt told me no. They must go over the car. There seems to be alot of BS going on down there, everyone has conflicting opinions instead of everyone actually knowing the rules and regs. Eg. mine got passed without having a high level brake light, but got knocked back because the window washer jets were chrome which was a standard option on that car. All I can say is good luck and hopefully you actually get someone who knows what they are talking about.

It's not all up and running yet but hoping for about 220rwkw with exhaust, fmic, power fc and a touch more boost. I'm going to get it all engineered eventually as I've got larger breaks for it etc. But it's just in the time before I can get that done that will be a worry.

As far as I know they may never even get back to you, I've had my car complied for about 2 years now and I haven't had to take it back yet. I did get that letter though, and it says you must keep it in the vehicle at all times. A guy at my work has had his car complied for about 3 years now, he also got the letter and hasn't heard anything since. I think it's to scare you from doing anything to your car. I know I'll be screwed though if I have to go back, as soon as they open the bonnet and see a RB25neo they'll probably just laugh at me.

I've only ever heard of mechanical antilag systems where the turbo is actually driven mechanically like a supercharger to get it spinning decently before you sink your foot into the accelerator pedal. What you are saying certainly sounds interesting though

The controller itself costs $195, I'm not sure exactly how it functions but he said it is what I need to use an aftermarket ecu with the auto trans.

Yes it comes with the trans, it can be seen in the first picture off to the side, it was just taken out so I could lift the trans myself as they are damn heavy with all the fluid in there. I'd prefer not to sell them separately

Just reading through this thread and thought it might be of interest to others. I'm currently doing a project where I'm dropping a RB25DETneo into a HR31 GTS-X coupe. My car was auto to begin with and I don't have the funds for a manual conversion at this stage. I too was going through the process of trying to find an aftermarket ecu that would work with an auto. So I made a call to Mike at MV Automatics here in S.A. and have now got it sorted. Depending on what type of gearbox you have he can get a shift controller made up to run the trans so you can use an aftermarket ecu. He said that the tiptronic 34 boxes cannot be used as this was what cam with my engine package. So what he is doing for me is as follows: I am using my standard RB20 box which he is fitting a stage 2 shift kit to and supplying the shift controller so I can use my PowerFC. So I'm not sure if the same can be done for RB25DET auto boxes but it might be worth giving him a call to find out. He is in S.A. but he would send parts interstate as I think I recall there was a group buy on shift kits from him a while ago. His details are Mike MV Automatics 1 Stirling RD Blackwood S.A. Well it's not actually the cop shop you take it to at sturt, its the transport SA place next to it. They are pretty good there, they just check the numbers to make sure they match up and aren't stolen etc. They are supposed to do a basic roadworthy test on it to ie. checking indicators and brake lights working etc. I didn't get that far when I tried to take mine through, seeing as it was a 15yr old import it didn't have a compliance plate so I had the joy of having to go through regency.

I ordered a PowerFC from them on the 17th, it took about a week for them to process and recieve my payment. I was worried so I sent them an e-mail and got a non-automated responce the same day. On their site it does say that some delays can be expected due to availability, I'm not really complaining with the price I got it for.

Well if my 31 coupe is ready by then I'd be keen to show it off but it's unlikely to be at show standards for some time yet. I'm not even going to have it running in time for the 31 club dyno day which was dissapointing.

I've recently purchased an engine package and in transit 2 of the pulleys on the front of the motor have been damged, I was wondering how easy it is to find replacement parts for them. Are they interchangable with the earlier R33 RB25det's or can you get aftermarket versions. I've had a look on nengun but they only have kits that do the powersteering, alternator and water pump but these are not the 2 that are damaged. I have included pics so that should be able to help, cheers for an info that anyone can provide me.

As the topic suggests I have a tiptronic auto box from a R34GTT for sale, it came with my RB25DETneo engine package and I do not need it. All I have is the box itself without the console piece or actual shifter so it would suit someone who just needs a replacement for theirs. The engine/trans pack has travelled approx 48,000kms and the pics show the condition. There is no auto trans ecu as I believe it is apart of the main engine ecu. I have kept the wiring on the trans as it all unplugs from the main loom except for 2 wires which I had to snip but they are easily identifiable and I can show the buyer where they came from. I am in Adelaide and would prefer not to send it interstate as I can imagine it would cost a bit, but obviously if you are desperate you can pay the postage. I have no idea what these are worth so I'll put my price up as $550, If this is too high please let me know or make an offer. If that price is for the whole box, how much would you accept for just the parts I listed above, I honestly don't know what they are worth but I definately need them.

Are these prices going to be a continual thing or just for this group buy? I'm installing a R34 RB25 and auto box into my HR31 Skyline and would be interested in getting the box beefed up slightly but it wont be ready for about a month or so. Cheers, Allen

I had my car done at PVP Imports on Muller Road, they were pretty good, and quick too, mine cost a little more than usual to comply but that was due to some hard to come by parts needed replacing.
