  1. either way @ low boost.. just with a bigger turbo the piston still gets the same amount of air hitting it in the end.. so may aswell go small as turbo IMO.. unless i miss understand something.
  2. i understand guys i am in love with my current car which ive been driving and i dont want to sell it.. so swapping the car also isnt an option in my books sorry.. i've had too many issues with car dealers/ private sales lately. plus the fact that u have rego fees etc 3% of sale.. plus the whole wait for the car to sell.. which im sick of doing. basically i just want to know IF DONE RIGHT. can i LOWER the compression on my stock R34 25GT (manual btw) and bolt some big ass boost to it (12-18psi) and have it safe and reliable for 6.5k rather than high compression, low boost (5-7psi) which is safe and can be done for 6.5k if done properly. just dont know if there is something that i wouldnt forsee... and if i need an engine rebuild.. i chose the wrong mechanic... and will kick their asses
  3. well i was originally thinking of coping Dan666 with the high comp/low boost idea. but i've been thinking since a gasket is like $1000 extra, why not go bigger turbo + boost, and lower the compression Besides things like Fuel pumps, ecu.. any major side effects i would notice on my N/A if i dropped the compression and had a bigger turbo with like 400hp turbo attached + higher boost.. i know clutch will go.. and i would need bigger brakes etc... but im just wondering if thats AN option, which wont rip my N/A engine appart within 3 months of it being turbo. if it is, ill just go high comp/ low boost ive got a total of about 6.5k to get it turbod properly.. (the car is stock, so needs exhaust probably aswell + ecu) and i DONT WANT A STOCK ENGINE SWAP OR HALF CUT. (unless u can get me a worked engine in my car for that price...) so if u think i could get heaps more power out of a N/A tune for my 6.5k or other suggestions im open:)
  4. whats wrong with 3" straight thru when its turbo...
  5. im about to spend 8g on mods for my car. $2000 ECU $1500 Turbo Parts + install (high comp, low boost) $1200 full catless exhaust, straight thru 3" $800 Front mount $300 cold air intake plus im working on acouple of other things.
  6. it would sound similar, but slightly different due to compression. every car sounds slightly different with just the minor mods.. 6g would be for half cut + putting engine in. 3g would be ecu + 2nd hand parts to turbo it. (plus tuning of course)
  7. Ok, now everyone says that N/A needs backpressure and stuff and i've been doing some testing with my exhaust and my car. Basically i have a STOCK R34 25 GT (non turbo) with the exhaust from factory i have a very nice torque for 2k-4k which then drops but after i modified the exhaust to bigger and more free flowing i LOST that down low torque, however gained alot more from 4k-redline. Im just thinking if i could basically run 1 stock exhaust and then have a flap to a 2nd exhaust with the same diametre, and have a flap open as i hit 4k. so down low, i have the low torque. but if im doing some foot to floor driving, i get the higher range or torque. sound good? (also should help put this debate of backpressure to rest) (more power without back pressure, however thats only at redline/high revs.. to an extent of course)
  8. just letting u know, UR NA engine WONT let u run positive pressure as it doesnt have mapping, as soon as it goes past 0psi it will stall. i have tried this with my own car. (R34 25 gt)
  9. just going with normal turbo setup now.. i know it works and im too lazy to try my idea.
  10. intake temp too hot or not enuf fuel IMO
  11. I've spending $5k, and thats just on coilovers, bucketseats, installs, harnesses, CAI,
  12. just get a group buy going now, closes mid march is long enough. if there is demand for more, then do another one.
  13. just wondering why you want to remove the VVT
  14. doesnt say if its suited to turbo or non turbo.. "Tomeii Pon Camshafts for RB25 : The Tomeii Pon cams are a "drop in" profile that does not require aftermarket valvetrain components. Simply bolt them in, set the cam timing, check the clearances and you are away, with some imporved horsepower. " thats all i have.. from horsepowerinabox.com just lookin at possible mod options besides turbo
  15. if there is a group buy and they can get them for R34 25gt, ill buy one, $2k-2.2k to my door.
  16. rice factor.
  17. just have to say magna ralliarts are shit and slow.
  18. my R34 RB25de neo puts out 124.2rwkw weeeeeeeeeeeee.. turbo kit soon hopefully. also hope for full exhaust later, carbon tailshaft, cams + new lsd + with different final ratio
  19. make sure u put the jumpers on those pins.. *oops* (will try hooking up again shortly..)
  20. hey, i just tried to power on my DFC and well.. nothing on the hand controller at all... backlight doesnt even come on.. i tried hooking it straight up to my battery.. no change... i've checked all soldering points.. any ideas?
