  1. My GT-R guy seems to think there have only been 80 or so R1 conversions done in total, so you might be waiting for a while to find one. Definitely a rare car, and definitely collectible. I suggest PMing if you want to know values. If it's anything like mine, the landed and complied price would've gone up by $30,000 at least if he'd tried to import the same car now.
  2. Is it Bayside Blue? I was sitting behind an unregistered one at a car wash last Friday night.
  3. ^^Wow that dude knows what he's talking about lol
  4. You're on the right track, my boy. J, yes it'll be running Nismo cams as part of the R1 package, so the idle will be a bit higher and lumpier. Don't ask me how I know this lol... For those who don't know, the R1 engine package (without taking into account the rest of the Nismo goodies on r34nur's car) is an engine-out deal, and, depending on the donor car, is worth $30,000 at current exchange rates. 450ps of RB goodness - effectively a 2.6 litre version of the Z-tune motor. When I have spare time, I'll translate the parts list for the package. Very thorough. J, I'll put you in touch with my GT-R guru, he has connections in Omori factory who might be able to give you some more history on your car.
  5. Removing all the other considerations like maintenance, R33 GT-R every day of the week.
  6. Agreed. Work on $15K for compliance.
  7. Bump Lance, my brother-in-law does them for a living, but also out-of-hours
  8. Goes to Regency for an ID check. MAKE SURE IT IS DEAD STOCK.
  9. Spotted at the car wash at Golden Grove Village tonight - Bayside Blue 34 GT-R V-Spec II with no plates yet, getting a bath. Looked mint. If you're on here, I was the one nearby in the black RX-7
  10. I didn't say it was a BAD thing lol...
  11. lol, you guys keep kicking this thread like a mangy dog...
  12. You guys have a flat 5% sales tax though, yeah? Not 10% duty plus 10% GST, plus Luxury Car Tax...
  13. Don't hold your breath...
  14. Should be fine. Just keep ringing the workshop every day Wish I could take a break and leave my customers to fend for themselves...
  15. Unless it came up against something packing more than 500ps, the R35 would hose any previous GT-R, in a straight line and especially around a track.
  16. Oh ok cool - it's been a while since I've done one into NSW. The general rules for interstate transfers for personal imports are basically the same theory as transferring pre-1989 stuff. A lot of guys in SA get caught out thinking they can buy something pre-89 and just take it for an ID check when it gets here, when in reality it's a pit inspection at Regency. I still don't understand why the requirements for registration for these vehicles are different from state to state, but oh well...
  17. Ask your import broker for advice - that is what you're paying them for!!! What car is it that you're bringing in? Presuming it's eligible, your compliance workshop sounds like they're on crack...
  18. lol - a dealer masquerading as a private seller, selling a car that doesn't exist...
  19. Simple - if you've given them enough time to apply for it, take any storage fees off the cost of compliance. Still got time for it to come through yet, so don't panic.
  20. Good news - it can still be registered. Bad news - each state is different as far as registration requirements goes, so expect that you'll need to get an engineer to sign it off in NSW, and possibly have some other work that needs doing, before you can register it there.
  21. Email me and I'll explain - short answer is yes, you can get a personal import. [email protected]
  22. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...es-t239837.html
  23. BNR34402068 (I have FAST btw, just thought some of you FAST lovers might be interested to check the codes )
  24. The RB20 powered R34s don't meet power/weight regs so they can't be imported, that's why you don't see them
