  1. Yes, there has been some serious tongue biting going on in that thread...
  2. They will, by selling the car here themselves as a full volume car. If it happens before June 2009, then they will never be eligible for import under SEVS. They got caught out on the S15 - they won't make that mistake twice... Doesn't stop people thinking they can bring them in and get them registered apparently http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=275557
  3. Thanks in advance guys - just need to know build date of HR31-188704.
  4. Ref: the import broker... Do these two statements contradict each other? Did you use a broker or not? :S The problem is that, on the DoTaRS website, all M35s are listed as being eligible, which given that information as well as what he was told from the workshop themselves, he could rightly assume he could find whatever one he liked. Perhaps DoTaRS also need to look into how they display their information on the website (and perhaps autech_axis, you lawyers might consider listing them in any legal action) Did I read somewhere that the workshop offered to buy the car back off you? Wouldn't that be far cheaper than taking them to court? I know there are principles at stake, but it might wind up causing you a lot less grief in the long run, given that one of your suitable resolutions was to be paid for all costs incurred so far. Are they offering to pay you what the car owes you? I can understand how this drama must be fairly gut-wrenching for you guys though, having such beautiful cars in your possession and not being able to drive them fully registered.
  5. It's from 2004 you peanut - it was the very first DA event, so the commentators were as green as the competitors....
  6. Might be too rough for his needs, but it's a good start for a project... http://ironchefimports.com/site/index.php?...0&Itemid=30
  7. I too would be interested in knowing which import company you used. I've been getting an increasing number of calls about such things occurring. Is the car coming off the docks in Melbourne? Keep us informed of you you go with it.
  8. Giddyup - I owe you a beer.
  9. ^^^ Not as good as it used to be - everything's getting pinged for quarantine at the moment. Apparently there's a new inspector not winning many friends...
  10. URGENT - can someone please do S15-023986?? I need the build month!! I'm presuming you can also do S15s... Cheers Kristian
  11. You guys need to buy JZX100s - nobody looks at Camrys lol
  12. DoTaRS being slow is a constant problem, because they're always horrendously understaffed and overworked - you think the government will devote resources to a system that takes sales away from the big car manufacturers?? tp1gts2, I suspect your workshop ran out of plates and had to wait for new ones to roll over (they can only do 100 cars in any 12 month period), but there can be all number of reasons, none of which would make your workshop look very good if they told you the truth
  13. heslo, seriously dude, you must barely be awake in the morning - I've seen both you and your gf go past me in the opposite direction on my way to work, and still no mention!! I've put new plates on for you to work out what it is a little easier
  14. ^^^ Agreed. And no, there's nothing you can do, unless you want to try taking the person who bought the car on your behalf in Japan to court - not gonna happen...
  15. :laughing-smiley-014: So Chris is going to win then?? m3gtr - Bearing in mind that many of the DA drivers have gone from the odd practice day (and street drift session) to competing in state then national championships in the space of two or three years, I think most have coped admirably with the sharp increase in expectations placed on them by sponsors and everyone else. Many of the issues that frustrate you are simply differences between Australian and Japanese cultures - in Japan there is a great emphasis placed on honour and respect for your opponent that just doesn't happen here, which is a shame. The flip side to those qualities is that it is unheard of for a Japanese driver to question a judge's decision - with no-one holding them accountable, D1 judges are effectively a law unto themselves. Jack Monkhouse is a great example of the sport's future as far as professionalsm is concerned - as an ARC competitor, he has already spent plenty of time in front of a mic and camera, and it shows. He interviews really well, and with more practice the other drivers will get to that level. Kat's another one very much in tune with keeping sponsors and fans' needs in mind at all times. She's a good ambassador for the sport. There are lots of fantastic things happening behind the scenes at DA that never make the TV footage - the drivers ham it up for the cameras, but there is also a good camaraderie between the drivers and the DA staff too. Like Nathan said, the best way to experience this is to go to an event and see for yourself.
  16. Damn! How many Skylines is this in the last few weeks? Lock them up guys - the cars I'm referring to...if they catch the people nicking them, locking them up would be the nicest thing that could happen...
  17. m3gtr, my brain hurts...so what are you actually suggesting? Are you proposing any concrete solutions to this current crisis, or are you merely venting your frustrations?
  18. You will regret it for the rest of your life.
  19. Hopefully your 25 years worth of experience will tell you it's unwise to join up to a forum just so you can advertise without sponsoring said forum...
  20. heslo, you been past my work lately? I've crossed to the dark side...
  21. Hi guys, A workshop needs a stock GT-R front bar because the car is being inspected next Monday. It can be any colour, and the car won't even leave the workshop, so don't worry about damage. The workshop does import parts, so you might even be able to work a deal with them in exchange. It would only be needed for 24 hours, overnight at best, so if any of you have GT-Rs sitting in sheds, maybe we could nick it for a day or two? Give me a buzz on 0402 904 069 if you can help. Thanks Kristian
  22. Jasevr4's car is also being done at Leaders - they're out the back of Complete Auto Dismantlers. Top blokes.
  23. www.ironchefimports.com (website will be up and running soon) - I recommend him because...well, it's me
