  1. No he would've written BNR32-xxxxxx which is your chassis number. When you get your car registered, it will have a full 17-digit VIN of 6U9000BNR32xxxxxx which won't be picked up by the database. Personally, I'd pay the fine and rip the sticker off.
  2. It's fine to leave the country during the 12 month period. If it's longer than about 10 days, then you'd need to own the car longer to make up for any time spent overseas, but that's only if you don't use the car during that time.
  3. You answered your own question - waaay too heavy and too complex for their own good. Poor reliability and hard to tune. I just had a brainwave - Jeff get an FD2 Civic Type R sedan. You'd sell it back here in a heartbeat to a Honda nut. I get people asking for them all the time.
  4. Happy wife = happy life Phil, you should know that already Chris, the wagon is the Sequoia, and I'm still not sure if it can come through under the Tundra SEVS approval, still digging...
  5. I kinda like them but they're a bit like a BMW X6 - try to be all things to everyone, and end up not really succeeding at anything. I'd take an FX50 over one any day. I'm at a loss to replace our Territory with anything imported with decent boot space - I'm seriously considering a Toyota Tundra at the moment...
  6. Having said that, Euros aren't the cast iron investment they used to be - whoever said AMG, my agent's E55 AMG sat here for about 12 months before he finally offloaded it for a loss.
  7. I'm not sure it will be 1.5 mil but it will certainly be cheaper than Goo or Car Sensor. Shoot me a PM and I'll put you in touch with one of the guys I use over there. Soarer as a personal import?? Seriously Rowan put down that crack pipe...
  8. I can find you a manual Evo wagon, no probs. I wouldn't worry about the STi Forester, to be honest, everyone thinks they're a money spinner, by the time you hit 12 months, another 5 or 6 will have come into the country and you might be stuck with something hard to sell. I'll give you some other options when I'm back from holiday, but the Evo wagon in manual is a great first choice
  9. Did it originally come into the country under the 15 year rule or SEVS?
  10. No this won't be commented on in public, seeing no-one in my family has been told of the incident All good Tangles, no offence taken
  11. In a slow car it is, not a quick one Simon P was fantastic to watch yesterday, as was Brad Trenwith who reeled off a low 1:12 In better news, I'm pleased to report that my next project will be a car built entirely from the plastic used on an R33 GT-R coolant overflow bottle, which somehow managed to survive the hit without any damage...
  12. I think there was a hint of sarcasm in there Simon...
  13. Like Martin said, Iron Chef corner (TM pending, thanks J-Rad) is like glass, I wish I'd spun the other way, then I'd have only lost my dignity Many thanks to those who've offered to help with parts, seriously it's a huge help. I'll be in touch as soon as I liberate some funds!
  14. If it was that easy, I'd crash the N1 and do it on that
  15. Yeah Martin, that's the corner I went off, thanks for the offer of help with parts too. Damn Heslo and his brand whore ways - I think I'm gonna be nudging $10K just in parts before we even get to the repairs I'm like a personal insurance company providing new-for-old parts coverage hahaha
  16. ^^ Sakai's my favourite too Whiplash! The silly thing is Simon, I reckon if the grass was dry I would've pulled up before the wall and driven away again. If there was anything I could've done to prevent it from hitting the wall then I would be seriously kicking myself, but short of not getting out on the track in the first place, there was no way I could've avoided it once I'd lost grip. Luke (ENR34) I spotted that HKS one too, Heslo and I are already exchanging emails, in a bizarre way it's kinda fun going shopping lol Vu Damn drift racers...
  17. lol in fairness I was given fair warning that they'd be coming...I knew I should've taken that sticker back! haha Josh I was well into third gear, so I'm not sure it qualified as a low speed crash, although it felt like I was watching that wall come towards me for about 5 minutes before I actually connected with it! Nige cheers for the offer, yeah we will probably chase your mate up for some of the factory parts, although Luke loves his brand names, bloody big spender haha Guys keep the other drifter/racer stuff out of here please, in spite of what I said before about the oil stuff (and Simon P came mighty close to joining me in the same spot on the following lap apparently), I'm happy to put this one down to the klutz behind the wheel. Live and learn!
  18. David having just done some surfing on Yahoo Japan, I'd recommend removing the headlights before you head out on the track
  19. lol I think I'm gonna have to step up the Cube sales!! Cheers for the offer Luke (ENR34), Pickering owes me a few favours so I'm banking on him giving me some container space, but I'll give you a yell if it doesn't pan out I dropped around to Heslo's place tonight again to take another look, and yeah there are a few fairly expensive parts on that list. We may end up doing some deals so he can upgrade a few bits and pieces along the way. Actually Luke (Heslo) maybe it was the petrol fumes that made me pass out temporarily! hahaha In the end, my wallet and ego suffered some major pain, but I still got to go home and see my wife and kids in one piece
  20. I appreciate that you guys want to hypothesize on whether or not you should lend cars to mates, Luke knows me well enough to know that I will pay for the repairs, I doubt he wouldn't have let me out there in the first place if he didn't think that was the case. Early reports suggest I'm up for a fair bit of money in parts, so my JZX110 is now for sale to help cover it - let me know if any of you feel like defecting to a Toyota...
  21. Yeah not my finest hour, but Luke has been brilliant about it and he knows I'm gonna be forking out the coin to sort it all out. We're in "if you don't laugh you'll cry" mode at the moment. I came around the sweeper in the wet, squeezed back on the throttle and it just snapped on me, someone later suggested there may have been oil there where the drifters park to start their runs, so I'm using that as my excuse! Anyhoo, it snapped hard left, and once it hit the wet grass I was just a passenger until I tagged the wall. And technically neither of us registered a time, so the original challenge still stands
  22. Yeah not sure I'm gonna be pushing quite so hard on a wet track....we shall see...
  23. Both those GT-Rs give me wood.... Make sure you all keep buying PI regularly guys, or one day there won't be a PI mag to read....
  24. I'm amazed you bought the Calibra...
  25. Timetable is on the Mallala website Vu
