  1. yeh give us the name or at least the story of what the problem is, all we know now is there is a dude tuning cars with turbo wheels on his desk and there is a court case involved, give us some info
  2. i got my old 180 engineered by TIC (transport industry consultants) was a few years back though and they were pretty good, I spoke to the engineer first and asked him what needed to get done before he would pass it, did it then brought to him and he passed it. in my experiance cops usually looked under the bonnet said ok and closed it even though 1 time id taken the box of the pod, give them the cert as soon as they ask you to pop the bonnet and it seems like they dont really want the hassle of defecting you, mind you I wasnt a smart ass to them.
  3. oh and was just curious what kind of cooler some of you guys use making that much power?
  4. with that kinda power in a rwd you be able to get some kind of traction if you got decent width rims and ran semi slicks wouldnt you? - preparing to get flamed
  5. scathing - If you hit someone while driving a car you're not licensed to drive, expect to get reamed even harder in multiple ways when you have to pay that victim's medical expenses out of own pocket because you're not covered by CTP. yeh thats what i was thinking, since you be driving a car your not licenced to drive then they'd prob do you for uninsured and all that shit even if they did pull you over, and yes cops can check up on you on their computer in the car, thats why they get your licence and go back to their car for a bit, check your record etc
  6. i gotta say tho that ive been pulled over for RBT's quite a few times and the cops have usually been quite polite back to me and sent me on my way, im just burned that i got attacked in traffic with my fiance in the car and nothing ever happened even tho we had witnesses and the rego plate
  7. im not sure about this but they'd probably do you for driving unlicenced or sum sh*t cause you wouldnt have a licence to drive a turbo car, its just not worth it imo
  8. yes ill second or 3rd that cops are usless, i had my window smashed in whilst on the way to work in shit box ages ago cause i cut somone off, had glass cuts an shit ambo's came pretty quick, had 3 cars as witnesses and everyone saw the plates, waited for nearly an hour for the cops to come, then drove to the nearest police station to make a statment, got a call about 6 months later asking if i wanted to identify the guy in a line up, said yes, and havnt heard back for them, been nearly two years now. Thats why i dont respect the police they are never there for anything apart from when i get "randomly" pulled over for a breath test, or when the media is around to make sure they do their job, seen many a time a cop has put the lights on done a uturn through red lights, turned the lights off and driven into maccas to buy food
  9. im surpised the fuse didnt blow, next time you'll know and hopfully a warning to other people reading this thread, if you disconnect wires, tape the bare ends up with electrical tape or disconnect the fuse if you know which one it is, but yeh f!*kin lucky you went back out to the car
  10. i havnt got a carbon hood mainly cause im pretty sure they're illegal due to them not crumpeling, instead they shatter and that worries me about insurance being void, there is a place in queensland www.blitsbodykits.com.au, fibreglass kits but apparently they are the only guys in aus that make road legal fibreglass hoods worth checking out if your interested
  11. just to confirm, you need to have all 4 wheels the same width for a gtr, you can have them different widths if you just want the look but it will play with your torque split as the front and rear wheels will have different load tollerances
  12. just to clear up the way the water flows just run the car for a bit and see which hose is hotter, top/bottom then you'll know which way the water flows, obviously the hotter hose will be post engine, unfortunatly im not in aus at the moment so i cant get to my car to figure it out for myself
  13. you will probably need to bend them or cut them for the rear unless you wanted to go to the trouble of getting your rear bar modifyed to suit the plates, these cars were designed for jap plates not aussie ones and jap ones are pretty much square
  14. makes sense, ive tryed to find some nissan diagrams to show which way the water flows but to no availe so i might just rout it the way the bottom pic is done as that is pretty much the way nissan intended it to be which im sure they didnt just do for the sake of doing it . its just ive seen some pics of engine bays that dont have the front nipple connected, but yeh 1 thing that didnt really make sense to me if the water flowed the way i thought it did is why would you have hot water running back intot he engine.
  15. ive fitted them to a few cars before, you do get what you pay for to a certain extent as far as the finish goes, some of the pipworks needs a bit of stuffing around to get the where its suppose to be which you wouldnt get that with a hks, arc etc kit but for the money you pay for them they are pretty good for a everyday street car with a bit of extra power, so as long as your not looking at huge amounts of power you really cant go wrong with them, so long as you dont mind some things ill fitting, just work around it
  16. only problem i could see with lowering the crossmeber from the chassis would be less thread in the chassis so mayby use longer bolts just the be safe, and you'd have to do somthing with the steering column connecting to the steering rack depending on how much you lowered it.
  17. dont know much about the turbo or the AFM (go the MAP sensor) but ive used a bosch fuel pump and had no problems at all was pretty happy with it, and i know a few people who use bosch injectors on various cars and they reckon they're pretty good, its a pretty good brand imo
  18. haha stupid question deserves a simple answer, i cant belive I didnt think of that lol, cheers
  19. I understand the theory of what your saying, but the nipple on the front of the engine from the turbo is facing the wrong way for water to be flowing into the radiator, the way it's facing it would have to do about a 140 degree turn to flow the way your saying and the way the thermostat sits in the houseing also indicates that water exits the engine via the lower radiator hose, also every other car ive ever seen the coolant exits where the theromo stat is so that water circulates around the engine until its at operating temp, then the thermostat opens and lets the water travel into the radiator so it can be cooled down to keep a constant temp, please explain to me how this is suppose to happen if the water is entering the engine via the thermostat, and also where would the water go when the thermostat is closed when you first start the car in the morning, if the thermostat is closed it cant go anywhere.
  20. if you want to lower your engine, why not just do some messurments and elongate the holes that bolt the mounts to the block?
  21. cmon i know some of you guys are running single turbo's on your gtr's can you share how you did your and how succesful it's been plz
  22. the only problem id see with doing it that way is that the nipple your talking about using as a feed would be at an angle against the flow of the water, and im pretty sure in a standard setup the water is suppose to flow back into the engine from there
  23. sorry probably a stupid question but how much should you drill out the returns? what size?
  24. hey just wondering how you guys that have a single turbo on your 26 heads ran the coolant lines for the turbo, im doing a single turbo 26/30 and wanted a bit o info on if other people set up the coolant lines like that of a 25 or 20, ie just running the one from the back to the turbo and the return in the normal place, taking out the part that comes around the front and back intot he coolant inlet for the engine? oh and before anyone just says search for it, I have and the results were pretty inconclusive
  25. hi sorry to open an old topic but im pretty curious about this as well, done a search and didnt really come up with any answers.
