  1. My GTR is sold to David( Bobbo) on this forum . The guys name is Aidwin and each to there own on the conversion. Really can't see how individual throttle plates right next to the valve are going to give a better , crisper response than one big right at one end of the manifold... Was it done as a mod by itself or in conjunction with a few other mods at the same time? Cheers Ken
  2. Good to see Peter, I assume you got George in Bunbury to finish off the tune and continue development. 1.7 is quite good for a road spec GTR running road tyres. Anything less than that will probably require extreme clutch abuse on your setup. Cheers Ken
  3. Which is why we bought an already in the country, modded R34GTR with reciepts plus the *touchy, feely * from being already here. The client is happy as he gets a modded car for less money than a std imported one plus he gets it now, not in 4 mths. Cheers Ken

Please realise that this is a loud, hard riding, police attracting drift weapon with an angry idle and a very oversteer orientated demenour that is tons of fun so I would suggest that if you are after something to drive to the shops or boglaps of Northbridge then maybe look elsewhere.   11. Factory pressure should be running at idle of around 38psi. It shouldn't redally bleed off and this suggests a fuel line leak or a dead fuel regulator. Try blocking the return line off with a pair of pliers while idling and the pressure should skyrocket and stay there, around 60-80 psi on a stock pump. If it bleeds back quickly then your pump is tired or dead. There are better tests for this but it involves fuel flow meters which I doubt you would have in your shed Cheers ken
  12. Don't tell me the purple VL is going?? As far as I know, the Stagea 4wd system is similar to the GTR so should bolt in. Wiring will be the issue and best way would be put a manual 4wd box behind the RB26 cos I doubt the auto will take the grunt of yours for long. We have a GTR sump and can get the GTR manual box easy. Other way is to drop the GTR engine in with a R33 GTS-T box ( which we also have ) and go 2wd but that defeats the purpose of a 4wd stagea... Cheers Ken
  13. Client wishes to purchase an R34GTR Vspec. Year is unimportant but and any colour EXCEPT white. Don't ask , it's his money Must be in good cond with no accident history and auction sheet preferred. If you have anything please respond either at work ( 9209 3100 ) or by PM. Price is open ended depending upon year/modifications/mileage. Not interested in the " I can get one from Japan" person cos so can I but the client wants something already here and complied. He has sold his 350Z cos it bored him and wants the real deal now... :elaugh: Cheers Ken
  14. All that can be done is optimise the base timing . Any air fuel change or timing map change would require a rechip or burn of your existing computer. Don't know about the East but we charge around $650-$800 fitted and dyno tuned for the R32GTS-T. cheers ken

  16. Would be better to post what you want but anyway.. The figures sound very low for a RB26 engine. I would suggest up around 150ish to be more in keeping with the mileage. A cylinder leakage test is better indication of wear plus it gives an idea of where the problems may be by where the air leaks out. I would suggest taking it to a w/shop experienced in dealing with these type of vehicles . If your NOR , come to see us, if SOR SST is probably the go. There are other shops but both of us are SAUWA sponsors and try to look after our members. Cheers Ken
  17. Oops sorry, my bad. That's what you get for not reading the post properly and hungover. I would suggest get a w/shop to do a quick check of the timing and a/f ratios. It may be a dead fuel pump, dodgy a/f meters ( quite common) or maybe a gasket has gone on the intake and allowing a lean mixture on 1 or 2 cylinders. Cheers Ken

  19. Got to agree with Duncan. The bigger the gap , the better the spark. The coil has to build up a stronger spark to jump the larger gap which makes for a fatter , hotter spark. Downside is that too much compression/boost will blow the spark out or not allow it to jump the gap. Whoever said that the closer the gap , the better the spark has not done 1st year apprentice mechanics Which is why with CDI type systems you can run a much greater spark gap as they pack a mean punch. Grab an Autronics CDI equipped spark plug as opposed to a normal coil and see what I mean.My hand was numb for about 1/2 hr. One of our race engines lost an electrode hook on the dyno and it was still firing with a CDI system. Cheers Ken
  20. I was there driving the purple/black Hyperdrive Motorsport Sil80. Unfortunately the Jap that borrowed it for the D1 show proved just how crap I was in it. To jump in a strange car and within 3/4 of a lap be doing what he did shows just how much we all have to learn grasshopper... I am hoping that Ben Ellis lets me have a copy of the incar so I can see how he did it... Cheers Ken. PS At least one of our team won the factory class so congrats to Mike.
  21. Price is a strong factor and yes a twin plate is better for launching but can be tricky for day to day driving. I have used the exact same exedy in at least 3 of my GTR's , 1 GTS-T and 2 300zx's , all with no problem. Micko has one in his GTR holding 400rwhp and has done some big launches. Cheers ken

  23. $850 for a brand new Exedy cushioned button 9 puck ceramic, new exedy pressure plate and bearing , supplied and fitted. Same as Ross uses but we use a new pressure plate. Cheers Ken
