Denver , at the end of the day , just DO it. Before CAMS puts the * rollcage, harness, firebomb, triangle thing* into the equation. While the chance to go stupidly fast on highly dangerous venues with CAMS insurance is offered, take it.... Next year I ain't going fast, just VEEEEERRRYYYY sideways Cheers Ken

Ahh love it Insurance, where you pay a premium cos you guarantee you will have a crash and they take the bet and guarantee you won't.... It's just like the casino where the odds are usually in the favour of the house. My suggestion ( which will meet with howls of derision ) is to buy a bunky POS for a few years and FULLY insure it. Prove you aren't a dickhead and get a no claim bonus. THEN go for the super turbo ubeaut wankified special using your no claim bonus to get the quote under the national debt As posted earlier , use your old mans name to insure and it's bound to end in tears cos the house always wins... I don't think you should limit it to any vehicle. As this is a social club as well then what difference does it make? The Nissan car club has commodores in it and the Mini car club has Nissans in it , so what? At the end of the day , it is the person , not the car we are needing to make a club work and I know some top people driving some fairly average cars. The average person would not normally consider being in a Skyline club if they haven't got one , unless they are passionate about them or enjoy the existing members company. Don't forget , there needs to be a trial period with ALL members where the committee reserves the right to say you are a tosser and boot them out My .02c ( cos the business has the rest... Cheers Ken

When I was doing my apprenticeship , computers had only just started and 256 was the quick ones. I did a mechanical apprenticeship and wasn't too fussed about it because of the shit you cop from every one. IT started and I saw lots of guys making big money because there was no one to fix the computers. These days it looks like every one is in the IT and white collar field and there is no one to fix the cars... Trust me , if you are good at your job as a mechanic , there is plenty of opportunity and you can start your own business which is when ( with hard work ) the money will come. Pick a market that is not being catered for and a few angles that shops haven't thought of and you will be surprised Cheers Ken

James, try taking the cap off while the engine is running . Be careful as it will be hot and what you are looking for is constant bubbling in the water as it passes the filler neck. Most cars will blow water out immediately after you stop the engine. Are you sure it's missing above idle ? Missing at idle means you probably have an airleak. Try spraying some crc or contact cleaner , once again be careful as it is flammmable, around the intake manifold and injectors. If the revs rise then that usually means it's drawing in air and running lean at that cylinder. Cheers Ken

If you want the best one jennaaay , then hope Steve doesn't sell it to the guy in Bunbury. Rebuilt engine , new terb , manual , black over silver and is one of the best I have seen. By the time you get one from Japan and build it into the cond this one is , it will cost you waaay more. Cheers Ken

Who has bought or sold a skyline in 2003
gtrken replied to Dominic's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
In the last 2 years or so I have sold 6 or 7 R32 GTR's ranging from excellent condition ( Simmo's and Micko's ) , both on this forum to let's say average cond ( GT500 ) , also on this forum. You get what you pay for and there is no such thing as a one little lady owner , only 2K per year GTR in Japan for $10,000. The average price ( without giving too much away ) has been around the $29K mark with the rougher ones about $25K. What I mean by rough is Grade 3.5 or minor RA or the engine is breathing( which a LOT do but most owners won't face the reality of it). The amount of guys who blindly believe these * only 30K on the clock* 10-12 or more years old cars for super low prices direct from Japan are dreaming. If the car was that good , the domestic market will buy it. The best bargains are to be found here in Aust when guys are trying to unload a vehicle they no longer want/can afford. And mines-datsun , you have the full service history , including the Jap books , the auction sheet for this GTR to prove it's 26K validity?? Logic would tell you that a vehicle of that mileage , if it has the corresponding grade 4 upwards sheet would have fetched a premium in Japan so some one is copping a BIG loss or maybe not giving the full story... ATM I have a 93 GTR for sale with an engine that breathes ( I run catch cans on them) here in the West for $24,500 and have interest but no one with finance/insurance. There is usually always a reason why people will be prepared to sell the car for under the market price easily. Sometimes it's legit ( divorce, major financial trauma , death ) but usually it's because they have discovered why the vehicle was cheap when THEY bought it... Cheers Ken -
I have , the business is sucking up money faster than motorsport ever could... Cheers Ken

Yep , no prob , got a can of compression around here somewhere :headspin: Cheers Ken

I would think we will be fully operational very early Jan as the dyno has not left the East yet. We are doing limited service and repair work now but no dyno makes it hard to tune. Cheers Ken
-
Once we are fully set up with a TIG , dyno and the damn aircompressor , yes , all of the above. Cheers Ken
-
ROFL !!! Good luck Cheers Ken

yea but what a way to die... btw , put a full stop between 411rwhp and more than Troy cos atm it sounds like you have 411 more than Troy which makes you about 687 or so total rwhp. hehe Cheers Ken

I think all the bosch pumps are a bit more than a drop in fit. Usually require remaking of mount brackets and adaptors for the gauze pickup. Niz We are talking about pussies and you say the convo quality is going up?? Cheers Ken
