I questioned keeping my locked diff hey, was considering pissing it off but end up thinking the advantages are better than the disadvantages. Advantages: 1. Always 50/50 power to the rear wheels, great for straight line dragging. 2. IF you like drift it's awesome for drift, much easier to get the tail out & keep it out. Disadvantages: 1. Dangerous in wet, have to be VERY gentle on throttle when turning. I was changing lanes around a light corner in 2nd in the wet gently accelerating & the whole tail bloody kicked out in a flash, lucky the room I corrected in had no cars next to me... 2. Bad cornering in general, tail still wants to slip out if you're pushing it. 3. Tight turning can be annoying but its not that bad, the bad cornering disadvantage is the worst not being able to really push the car as hard as it could be cornering.

That's what happens with my car. I thought it was a mech-2way because when I clutch it it rolls better in tight corners. But when I had my car up on lift I spun one of the rear wheels & the other wheel spun in the same direction making me realise it's locked.

Only a 37kw loss in driveline then. Sounds quite small... SK saids a 60 kw loss in driveline is pretty average, I've heard this from other sources as well 'not just on skylines, could be clubsports or whatever'.

The sensor was off yeah, there'd be a few kw in inaccuracies there. I’ll get it dyno’d again one day. LMAO Holy shit wouldnt that have some throw back!! Nar I'd guess it would have to be somewhere around 500 Nm. I'm such a yutz, I read the wrong line on my old dyno sheet, its more like around 1100.

I want a GTR then! Make that an r34 GTR with an RB30 in it :drooling: Small low down torque & no traction will be no more!! haha

I think traction / throttle control is my problem 0-100 even with 275s I see the car still near me so I open the throttle up more wanting it to go faster but I must still be wheel spinning, I’m concentrating too much to realise lol. Had a clubsport trying to catch me from 50-100 the other day, I was running stock 7psi ‘not expecting to race’ & we seemed to be even ‘wish I was running 12psi ‘ Actually my car is supposedly 1390 kg, it was weighed when at the EPA, I'm not sure if there was someone sitting in there not when they got that figure, I assume while it was on the dyno getting tested for emissions 'which it failed 3 times lol' it was weighed.

My car has been dyno tuned yes... My power curve is as follows: I'd really like to know my torque. On an old dyno sheet I had a peak of 3400 lb when I was making 292 rwhp, how you convert that into an estimated Nm I dont know!?

Yeah I know he was talking about AWD but I was just saying that because I’ve found the general thoughts out there from people is “Turbos are quick for launches & V8s are great for top end speed”. It was only until I put it into practice that I found exactly the opposite results. Makes sense really that V8s are quick in lower speeds / revs because of large low end torque, & then they also have to carry all that extra weight which doesn’t help acceleration at high speeds.

I've found the opposite from standing starts hey.. V8s such as SS Ute & FPV GT have been be reasonably even 0-100 but from then onward from 100 - 150 I've pulled past really fast. I did a couple rolling starts at 100km/h on freeway vs FPV GT & it was no match 'mine aint stock tho'. I like the fact skylines can rev to 7000 - 8000 rpm making great top end power allowing you to keep pulling past while the V8's are reving out too quick at lower speeds.

I just watched all of them arab drift movies & my jaw nearly locked up coz it dropped so low after I watched that guy drift the patrol then drive it on 2 wheels while running a coke can along the ground :| That's f#cking ridiculous!!!! Absolutely insane... they dont even do that sh#t on closed roads... Unbelievable... I wana see the crash videos now... I seem'em briefly before somewhere. People would have to been seriously injured & killed from that sh#t happening. That nurburgring M3 GTR vid was BS as well!... I'd sh#t myself being passenger going round those corners at those speeds, it must have a lota downforce gezzz it looked fast.
