  6. Not true. 720p & 1080p both run 60 FPS. You may be mistaking 1080p with 1080i or even 720i, if theres 'i' it's interlaced & means half the frame rate of progressive scan pretty much due to it taking 2 frames to produce one complete frame, do a search on interlacing for more info. 'p' is progressive & depending on the game, 50 or 60 FPS. Always depends on the source, movies are only around 24 FPS. 1080p screens certainly can display 60 FPS from PS3 1080p games.
  7. I got mine for $2500 at JB HiFi with 5 years warranty. Incredible product & deal for the money, I did talk the sales guy down a couple hundred so you may have to too. A Sony screen like Whyallapunk dad's is very nice no doubt about it, but when you compare the thousands of dollars difference, I could never purchase a Sony LCD screen unless I was very rich or somehow got a very VERY good deal. Some argue that the Sony screens are actually too bright as well. When I was shopping for my new 1080p screen the Soniq was 42" & 6.5ms response time, the Sony was a little smaller at 40", a little slower at 8ms, & a lot more expensive at $4200 'with standard 1 yr warranty'. Go figure...
  8. Soniq QSL420T 42" DVB-T LCD TV 1080p with built in HD TV Contrast Ratio 1200:1 Brightness 500nits Response Time 6.5ms I think it's amazing! & so do my peers who see it in action, incredible product for the money. Soniq doesn't produce their own LCDs so the panel will be out of an LG or Samsung or something, I really don't know for this model. It looks great so that's all I care
  9. Yeah, the audio is different in all cars between the views, they're simply trying to make the sounds sound realistic in relation to the view position. Sounds awesome & I wouldn't complain at all, but GTR 2 on PC probably has the best video game car sounds I've heard, screaming MC12 engine... owwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaah.
  10. Ummm how long has the PS3 been out for?? Under a year! Like you can expect games to be running at their 100% capability yet. 1080p is a bit of a jump so it doesn't surprise me most are 720p so far, that will change though. Stop being a negative nancy kralster, are you honestly going to tell me that if you bought a PS3 you’d be disappointed with it!? I don’t know how you could be, sure it’s not perfect but what f#cking is, it’s a huge leap over the last console, appreciate it for what it is!
  11. Playstation 3 on 42" 1080p is blowing my mind. I’ve got it in a dark bedroom at the end of my bed with the lights off & it’s just like a theatre!! Couldn’t believe I actually felt like I was in a theatre in my own bedroom, always thought the ‘home theatre’ term was just an exaggeration, now I understand home theatre So happy with my recent purchases, worth the dough for the entertainment for sure. I don't know what's more incredible... the graphics & realism of GT HD, or the fact that we live in a age were a common man can purchase a video game system & experience racing simulations so close to life just for his amusement… just to kill time, pretty incredible really. Image if it was the old days & all we had was a f#cking ball in the cup game. GT HD is very fun racing & drifting but isn’t all just about the racing, they’ve put a lot of effort into the car display viewing, this is enough to have you dreweling for hours, the detail to exterior & interior is incredible. Then there’s the replays, I’ve sat there for 30 mins just watching the title screen run random demo replays. If you enjoy watching motor sport on TV, you’ll actually appreciate the demo replays in this game! That’s how good they are. By the time Playstation 4 comes out they’ll have realism conquered for video game consoles no doubt about it, they’re about 90% there now which is incredible to watch & experience. I stress that if you have a PS3 or going to buy one, budget in $$$$ for a 1080p LCD screen too if you don’t already have one as anything under this resolution just will not do the PS3 justice. The console was designed for True HD & that’s what is should run with. 720p, not good enough, although still very impressive, 1080p FTW.
  12. Owww yeah! I read that Wipeout for PS3 has been confirmed so cannot wait! Will be so insane for sure, every wipeout game has been awesome & only ever bettered the previous. Not loving wipeout would make you the gay one On another note, bought me a 42” 1080p LCD from JB HiFi today :D!!! Only problem is I do not get it until Tuesday / Wednesday due to stock delivery. They hooked up a PS3 to the display one at JB & OMG..., it’s going to be the best gaming experience ever Going to mount it on my wall @ the end of my bed. Gaming in bed, Blue Ray movies in bed, owwwwww yeah I'll feel similar to those rockstars on MTV cribs who having big LCDs popping out at the end of their bed
  13. Well overall I think resistance looks better than doom 3 anyway, sure you can pick little things abouts games, but it comes down to the game all in all. I think the game play is a lot better too. Definitely going to buy me the full version, excellent game.
  14. isn't it obvious? the graphics are comparable to Doom 3!
  15. Update: After playing games for the last 6 hours 'probably' my love for the PS3 has started to grow. I haven’t stopped playing it so I think it’s doing its job. Motor Storm: great fun game, looks pretty good for a 720p game! GT HD: Owwwwww so tasty, very nice graphics, excellent control ‘physics’. Can’t wait for GT 5. Ridge Racer: Hmmmmmm, I think the game is fine, I love the new level designs, but for a 1080p game it looks no better than 720p, there's some serious aliasing going on around the car wireframes & the graphics just look like they could be refined, looks like the game was developed too quickly, still good fun & worth the play, but just really wish the graphics were better. My monitor & connection isn’t the optimum at the moment, should look a bit better when I get the new LCD & HDMI connection. *if you have ridge racer, would you agree the graphics are a little crud compared to the other games? I think they just look up scaled too much.* RFOM Demo: woah very nice, just wish I had a digital connection running 60fps instead of my current component 1080i 30fps, it's a fast game! The colour levels need to be a little more dynamic too, the dark areas, shadows etc. need further darkening. Now where's the new Wipeout & Killzone for PS3! If wipeout fusion on PS2 is compatible to be played on the PS3, I'm so going to buy that game, always thought wipeout was one of the best games sony had & nobody else ever got! Excellent graphics, awesome music from famous DJs, & how could you ever forget the speed! :| that sh#t will give you epilepsy!
  16. ok so I bit the bullet & bought a PS3 today with MotorStorm & Ridge Race. Unfortunately I was very disappointed, not due to the console, but due to my dam monitor! I have a hp 2335 1920 x 1200 monitor with DVI & Component connections. I use this as my work monitor & wanted to double it up as my PS3 monitor. I bought some component cables & set the system up in 1080i. I must say I was quite disappointed, nothing was sharp or anywhere near as crisp as say when I play Half Life 2 or Far Cry at 1920 x 1200 (also both PS3 games don’t look anti-aliased, the edges of the cars look a quite aliased!). Ok so maybe it’s the component cables, I’ll upgrade to a HDMI to DVI cable (as my monitor only has a DVI input). Went out, bought the cable, got home & plugged it in. Didn’t work. WTF! Got on the internet then started reading all bout f#cking HDCP, what a load of shit. Been reading reviews for the last few hours on what’s the best monitor to get which can double as my work monitor & PS3 monitor. The BenQ FP241WZ seems like my best bet, but I’m thinking if I have to get a new monitor to reap the full benefits of 1080p HDMI with 1:1 pixel mapping, I might just buy a new monitor outright. I might look into some 1080p HDMI HDCP LCDs & see if I can get something affordable to hang on my wall, would be pretty cool like at the end of my bed. Downloading GT HD now. Really kinda sucks not having the optimum video output as I live for technology perfection, I’m sure once I have a new monitor I’ll love the combo with the PS3.
  17. I saw that MotorStorm game in action the other day, omg these machines kick ass. I'm very tempted to buy one now, I was going to wait until GT5, but I may grab one soon. $1000 from stores, $850 on ebay, just need to make sure that warranties are still in tact if purchased off eBay.
  18. Bump, new board needs the settings updated again
  19. thanks for the comments
  20. I think the pipe coming off the back of the muffler is 3", but you can defiantly have it cut off & matched to your exhaust. The twin tips off the muffler are around 2” I believe. No it’s not very loud, good for bringing down the attention of your car, but give it some revs up high & produces a very nice note, best of both worlds.
