  1. ACtually i have a funny story about driving aroud naked. This was prob about 6 months back, I was driving back from a movie in town with 3 other mates in the car. 1 in passenger, 2 in the back. They started giggling at nothing, i was like "what are you laughing at" they kept on stupidly giggling... i finally looked around & both of them had taken their clothes of & covering their privates with their hands naked in the back. I laughed & said put your clothes on you bloody dickheads but they didnt, so there was some lights coming up, they went red & we stoped. Now all i can think of "owww no, some bloody car is going to rock up next to us & look in to my car @ some bloody naked fools in the back. So ofcourse a car in coming up from the rear vision mirror, This really high 4WD landcrusier with a FAMILY packed inside with the kids in the back and the mother on the passenger side take a glance down into my car. The face she pulled was one of the funniest f***ing reactions i've ever seen. She immediately got her little children in the back to turn around. Anyway we took off from the lights & the Fourby was trying to get away so the kids couldnt look down but i deliberately kept on par with them just to see more reactions from the faces out of this car, it was one of the funniest things i've ever seen.
  2. Yeh??? is there a story to tell? are the 360's V8 Supercharged? I would have thought a 360 would be pretty light & putting out some pretty high power. Have you got a quarter mile time phatgtst? You'd be up for low 12's right. *I wana race a ferrari now *
  3. I know why people are importing pentae, i will be doing it for when i get an r34 GTR one day... The prices some aussies are asking for their skylines compared to imports are a joke "tell him he's dreaming luv"
  4. Oww if we're coming up with brilliant idea's like this from Fresh , Why not drive around Naked. You'd probably save 2kg there from clothes & shoes. & Whats the deal with having a heavy steering wheel, remove that and just lean into your seat to steer as if you were riding a bike.
  5. lol! Like any of our cars are street legal by the RTA's rules anyway!!! hahah Seriously, it would probably only have to be about 3% of users on this site which have a skyline which would pretty much have to be stock in Every way to be legal by the RTA's modding rules.
  6. & in the instance of buying an import when you can't speak to the owner, then you'd wana pick a ride that atleast looks all square. I just hope you dont have to spend too much on it when you get it.
  7. Did somebody say "old mans car"? My GrandFather wouldn't drive that merc *from post #1 *, he's too young for that..... The Gentlemens Agreements states you're actually not allowed to drive that car unless you're 80 or older & on you're 3rd artificial heart...:looney:
  8. Do you think an Excel with a GT wing & body kit looks fast? lol j/k man, depending on how much the owner is dreaming, or if it was stock, or modded, a GTT, or a GTR, hell prices could vary from 30 - 100 k Check out aussie 2nd hand car sites like carpoint.com.au & drive.com.au i think they are, you'll get some steep prices from owners dreaming thinkin their lightly modded 33 GTR is worth 55 k. lol
  9. If your talking about whacking a POD on, you'll probably actually get a negative effect if the car is stock. But go ahead & whack a POD on anyway coz its cool.... You dont wana be caught showing of your skyline & lifting up the bonnet without a POD under there do you?
  10. I think if you're going to buy a 2nd hand car, you should have a very in depth conversation with the owner about the car & its history to get an idea of what kind of owner the owner is. So if your speaking to the owner who has modified the car quite a lot & has used a good combination of suitable / compatible quality parts throughout the whole car 'while also knowing a lot about cars themself when they talk' , you would think that they would take care of the car. I bought my car of an owner who really loved the car & treated it very well, he unfortunately had to sell it to get a family car with more space *satisfy the wife*. He told me how he trashed his old 180 sx but the skyline was his baby so he treated it right, he knew a lot about the car, lots of technical terms & facts, this gives the impression that he know's & loves the car enough to treat it right. Now thats only Check 1. I also had a mechanic check everything on the car before i bought it & it was a BUY BUY BUY result for me for the icing on the cake. Since owning the car i've had no mechanical problems, i've done a little performance work to it & am making very good power from the engine being in great condition. When i was first skyline shopping, i was very sceptical of buying a modded car thinking it was thrashed, but if you find the right seller with a modded car, you'll find the car is actually the opposite to have being thrashed but instead looked after extremely well as for it was a passion for them to mod their car 'like a lot of us skyline owners'. Some rich buggers will mod a car to brag & say "i've got 10 trillion rw megawatt over your piss weak 300 rwkw" *exaggeration right... lol* & thrash the buggary out of it, others will say "my last mod was a little difficult adapting the new exhaust manifold onto the RB20 but it was worth it as for it gave me 15 kw in extra power which i was very pleased with, the car now makes 180 rwkw which is great for the small capacity engine" & the right people will appreciate it. “the quotes were made up examples only” It annoys me how so many people whack big fat exhaust, BOV’s, & Pod filters onto their cars like it’s meant to be cool or something, like they don’t even know the real benefits & reasons to fitting the parts. Back to the point, conversations with the owner for me would be a must.
  11. Yeh its not a total wreck, just know your going have to whack x amount of money into it ontop of the initial purchase price, & seeing its an import you would have got it very cheap anyway so that will give you some money to spare & you'll get the car looking and going the way it should be
  12. Ok so now i know how shootout works... So as long as the Sensors are in the right places and the AT & IT readings are true I got a geniune rwkw gain. If i had been blowing very hot air into the intake where the IT sensor was *to give say IT 120 degrees*, i'd still get the same Max power reading because Shootout caculates all this.
  13. Ok, ok, so shootout is good to get your rwkw regardless of where you are dyno'ing eg. one extreme to another, Antarctica or Desert. But what if i was living somewhere really cold where my car would always have a low AT & IT, I'd actually be making more rwkw than the shootout would display seeing as the shootout takes the "variables" out of the equation. Makes sense now to what it actually does *to what figure it averages the AT & IT down to i dont know*, lets say i was living in dubai or somewhere very hot during the day, i'd also never really be making the rwkw the shootout dyno would be displaying seeing as it would always be a hot intake temperature too. As i said in Post #23 "Can a dyno work without AT & IT sensors to pick up the power & torque from speed, acceleration, weight off the rollers?" This would then give you the true rwkw in that realtime condition.
  14. Ummmm Funky might have a point. The engine and mods would make this car go like the wind but dam... its needs some cleaning and work done do it. It's like the '2 dolla hooka working on the corner' of skylines, she's ruff on the outside but she rides it mighty hard on the inside. lol. Get her *the r32* on the rehabilitation program and you might be able to bring this betty back to high society, so much potential. Good luck with it! I'm sure it'll turn out sweet! Cheers,
  15. Ahhh kool! Can i wait for a Lanyard? My car is riced enough So how often do you run these ART comps, is it monthly. If so spose you'll be bout to post up another Skyline pic hey....
  16. Owww cheers, thanx alot. Good work Funky. BTW i did do my entry at my screen res so heres a 1280 * 1024 Wallpaper link for anyone who wants it. JPEG 80 http://www.evodence.com/files/skyline_09_c...tr_1280_80q.jpg PNG 24 http://www.evodence.com/files/skyline_09_c...34_gtr_1280.png Cheers, PS: Do i get to find out what a Lanyard is now! lol
  17. With under the bonnet being pretty hot i think 56 sounds pretty right to me. As sydneykid said, the bonnet was probably open before with the fan pointing at it and bonnet shut on the last dyno run. I will ring up & ask though! Will have to wait till Monday I'd say. As for AT & IT, i dont think im understanding them right yet. I'm not sure how the computer is calculating them to get Maxpower? Can a dyno work without AT & IT sensors to pick up the power & torque from speed, acceleration, weight off the rollers? So if the dyno was ran in eg. Antarctica *with no AT & IT sensors* with freezing air, the car might make eg. 250 rwkw, & in the Desert it made 200 rwkw because of the hot air. Now if we use AT & IT sensors in both these situations, then what figures would we get for each situation. Lets say we did trick the computer. The AT was 25 degrees & we sat the IT sensor around the exhaust manifold & it read 150 degrees while the Real IT temp was actually 40 degrees. The computer then spits out a much higher Max power figure. Why does it spit out a higher power figure? I think im wanting to know how the Max power is calculated from the elements in the equation. Maybe INASNT or Sydneykid could explain it to me if its not too complicated
  18. Well regardless of how hot the intake is *just as long as it actually is the true intake temp* the dyno will spit out the same power right? From what i've learnt *so far...* as long as the AT & IT are true figures the computer will work out the Max power with these statistics with how much power is coming from the wheels going onto the rollers. The good example from you was say doing the dyno run in Antarctica & in the Desert, Very different AT & IT temps, but still would get roughly same power output right? *Even though i automatically think the colder the air, the more power & more rwkw! *koo koo crazy** Can you get a dyno rwkw reading from simply off the rollers. Eg. In Antarctica coz of the freezing air the car made 250 rwkw, but in the Desert, it only made 200 rwkw because of the hot air. Now that makes sense to me. BUT if you use the AT & IT for both dyno runs you'll get the same end results? So with under the bonnet being pretty hot i think 56 sounds pretty right to me. As sydneykid said, the bonnet was probably open before with the fan pointing at it and bonnet shut on the last dyno run. I will ring up & ask though! Will have to wait till Monday I'd say.
  19. So when is the Bathurst committee planning to bring back the skyline and have holden & fords ass served on a plate? :uzi:
  20. Ok, I understand why there is AT & IT to get rwkw now. So to compare the Optimax & Ultimate dyno sheets of 29 degree's difference in IT my final question i spose would be to what formula is the rwkw worked out from the AT & IT readings or a more simple question to someone with a fair bit of dyno experience, an estimation of how much a 29 degree's IT difference would make to the rwkw. 56 degrees IT sounds realistic to me & if this is my standard temp for my intake when driving my car around, I'm VERY happy with 230 rwkw regardless of a 29 IT temp on the previous optimax dyno sheet. Thanks for your help Sydneykid & INASNT ia likea to learn
  21. Ok fair enoughs INSTANT. The difference in IT temperature was 29 degree's, to how much rwkw difference that would make i dont know, but i might talk to the tuner today & see what he says. This IT business is a learning experience for me, now you say the higher IT temp will give a higher rwkw on the dyno spit out. Now just so i have this right, lets say the AT was 25 & the IT was 150 degrees & the car was making 200 rwkw on dyno rollers. The dyno then makes the final readout for rwkw much higher than 200 rwkw because 150 degrees is very hot & a cooler temperate would give more power rwkw. To what temperature does the computer work out it to be to get the final Max power reading? I'd love to know how this all works exactly. This is a PM from Sydneykid to me. Cheers,
  22. Well with Optimax the car couldnt be tuned any more than 218 rwkw with 12psi due to pinging, the tune was maxed out for 12psi. The new tune with the better fuel allowed for a leaner tune which resulted in 230 rwkw. The temperate was hotter on 230rwkw yet still putting out more power with a leaner tune. If the IT was even cooler *ie, was 29* i cant see why i wouldnt get an even larger rwkw. Please correct me if i am wrong. Cheers,
  23. the pulse staff are top guys & i've had good results with'em. Simple. My point on the other Thread is that it is unnecessary to go to Sydney.
  24. You betcha. Read mods @ start of thread, SAFCII is the piggy back ECU.Here's the other Dyno graph too.
  25. I wouldnt have the slightest idea where to start, not my area of expertise... I was told of a few guys in Newcastle who might be able to do it today, so i'll give them a ring some time.
