Yeah that would be good heh, I mean, most people only would want to use it once or twice probably and any minor adjustments after that can be easily done with the hand controller, hardly worth the $500. Personally I think they are a little on the pricey side, really, it's basically 1/2 of the cost of the whole powerFC unit again. I'd pay $200-300 for this sort of thing, but $500 is really pushing it a bit.

Will you seperate the wiring loom? Is the head a series 1 or 2
-
Howdy all... I'm just wondering if anyone has any of the following parts: although, I would love if someone had a COMPLETE wiring loom with all sensors, coil packs, etc attached to suit an R33 skyline (not fussed particularly on it being s1/s2 as long as it is complete!). Failing that, I'm on the general look out for: - AFM - CAS - TPS Also need: - front cam cover for an rb25 - dump pipe to suit a standard R33 turbo - R32 GTR oil pump, or alternativly a series 1 R33 RB25 oil pump (it is being attached to an RB30, so it needs to be the right model). Not in any huge rush - let me know what you have!
-
Not to drag it too far off topic, but can anyone recommend a decent jap. wrecker in Adelaide? I've been looking everywhere for an R33 loom, and so far only one place had one, and wanted $450.00 for it
-
possible, sure, but I'd say the amount of research and development that would go into making such a setup, you'd probably be able to buy an rb26 and do a transplant.
-
You'll most likely need something reasonably large - a "good" highflow should be able to provide that sort of power though. Injectors will need replacing at that sort of power I would expect (if they are the stock RB25 ones). PowerFC's are good value, will plug directly into the stock standard loom and work fine with the standard coilpacks - I just got one through a group buy here for $960.00 I'm just having a bit of brass piping around the outside of the engine put in, I'm just getting it done through the engineer building my engine, but someone can probably give you exact specs.

Got mine today (missed it yesterday) - very fast delivery from japan! Thanks

I'm having the same issue. www.skylinesaustralia.com firefox 1.0.6 Try these settings in the admin panel Cookie Domain: (blank) Cookie Name Prefix: (leave as is) Cookie Path: /forum If that doesn't work you could try setting the cookie domain to be ".skylinesaustralia.com" It's trying to set them, but it's just not working out. I reakon I've found some coil packs, but in particular I'm after a SERIES 1 loom (the one with a plug for the ignitor). However if you have a series 2 loom I'd be more than happy to purchase that instead if I can't find an S1!
-
Can't see myself on there - just checking!
-
I'm in for one at that price - are there any differences between the R33 series one and two versions - I thought they had different models. cheers
-
mmm yeah the powerFC's make a different model for series1 and 2 as well it seems.
-
Cheers I thought the series1/2 differences may not have been related to the actual head itself. My point being, if I used a series 1 loom on a series two engine or vice versa would it work? Ah great - I'll keep an eye out for one hehe, I've got the how-to guide and it doesn't cover the actual nitty-gritty, just mentioned it has to be 'modified' and has a picture comparing the two blocks. I guess I'll leave that up to the engine builder. lol cheers mate (definatly has wheels and suspension last I checked ) I think I can check off almost everything there, although I do need to replace the oil/water pumps

Just trying to finalise a few parts for my conversion - sorry if these have been answered somewhere else, I did search! - What is the difference between series 1 and series 2 rb25DET's ? I'm looking at buying a splitfire ignition system instead of coilpacks and they have a model for each - this is going in a VL with an aftermarket ECU, so is it even applicable? On a similar note, is the wiring loom the same for these series 1 and 2 engines? - I'm going to be running a powerFC, are they able to be tuned without an AFM? Or does it still rely on that (as far as I can tell it does). If that's the case - what AFM will have enough scope to cover things (engine builder was suggesting a twin AFM arrangement, but that sounds more complicated than it needs to be IMO). - Can someone explain exactly what has to happen to the block and/or head when fitting an RB25DET head onto the rb30 block, a detailed explaination would be great. So far I'll be using the stock head, turbo/manifolds (will have the loom + coilpacks), a computer and obviously upgrading any old parts where needed. Is there any hidden items I've missed that I should be budgeting for (not accounting for things like piping, etc)? Cheers guys - this thread is a life saver
-
Hey - just after these two items, contact me if you have either!

I was told to remove the turbo timer wires as well when I went there, but I guess it depends on your luck! I figured just unplugging the turbo timer would be enough (hey, what if I want to use it on a private road ), but obviously not. With the bleed valve, just unplug both ends that go into the 'tpiece' and imo, the easiest way to do if it's very hard to move down there (and if you want to make it easy to put back on for use on private roads ) then just feed a smaller diameter piece of vaccum tube in each end to join up where the hole is missing, chuck a couple of cable ties on each end and dont boost too much on the way out there! Or if there's plenty of access, just put a new piece of pipe in there to replace the 'cut' one. Unfortunatly most turbo tune shops do break the bank I can recomment RPM Performance centre, morepowa, graham west... i've heard very good things about boostworx too (havn't use them personally though... yet). This would be all very minor things, wouldnt take anymore than one hour of labour to remove (generally the lowest they will charge). Btw, I love stagea's, one of my favourite cars!
-
Yeah get rid of what ever you can - they are generally pretty cluey about looking for stuff like bleed valves/boost controllers
-
very informative thread, certainly clears up heaps for me - shall be doing this conversion soon, just purchased an rb25det vct head, and will probably go the powerFC route for management by the sounds of things! Can't wait to get it on the road, I purchased a 1999 TH magna as a daily driver, so really, anything will be more exciting compared to that!

Hi - I'm just wondering if anyone has any information regarding these exhaust manifolds on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...4561737792&rd=1 They seem remarkably cheap (IMO), and look to be engineered quite nicely. Has anyone tried them or researched them at all? Cheers.

Hi all. I am in need of an RB25DE head (complete) for an RB30DET conversion, would prefer to purchase one in Adelaide/S.A., but may be willing to get one from interstate if you are prepared to ship it! Would need to have an indication of the heads condition (ie crack tested) before finalising the deal (I would pay for that, but obviously if it's cracked or found to be damaged I don't want the head) Please PM me or post here. Thanks.

haha! I saw it in the city on friday night (I think?) pissed myself laughing

I'm 20, and yeah if my dad lived a bit closer I would probably get him to take it through.
