  2. Hi guys, finally got my motor from the engine rebuilders yesterday. So happy with all the work done and a way too long list of works done in the internals, keep it short it has a 25de head with 30e bottom with the normal internal works. Now the motor is going into a R32 GTST, has anyone tried fitting a GT3540 ball bearing(copy) turbo on the stock oem exhaust mainfold?, my worry is if it's going to fit in the engine bay when i drop it in . The turbo fits snug on the on the stock exh mani without clearance issues touching the head/rocker covers. I'm not upgrading to a topmount stainless steel manifold unless it's quality stuff( SINCO/RIPS) one's approximately $1700 and a good quality Holset turbo hence why im sticking with stock mani and nothing in between, btw i bought the turbo for $300 which suits me for the run in period. This was all due to the $4600 spent on the 30det motor build. Any suggestions and help will be much appreciated. BTW Merry Xmas ya'll.
  3. Hi guys, Motor is just about ready to be assembled. R32 25de head + 30e bottom end. The nagging misus about time and money has unfortunately made me to decide not get the motor balanced. Secondly im running fully stock bottom end except for ACL race bearings, main and bottom and chromoly piston rings. Do i need to be worried?..i initially didn't think it wasn't an issue since i was using the same internal components that were from the same block. Crankshaft has been polished and 25de head has been skimmed and cams polished with gtr valve springs etc. Has anyone done a full build without balancing it?.. thanks for your time. Cheers in advance.

  5. Hi there mate, Im doing the same build with r32 25de head. N/A stock pistons conrods and crankshaft. Just had the ACL race bearings, bottom and mains and ACL cromoly rings. Motor is fully refreshed and is ready to be put together, i did not get the motor balanced as i thought that there is no point as im re-using the same NA internal components, do you guys think i need to be worried?.. has any of you guys done a build without getting the motor balanced?.. cheers
  6. Thinking of swapping it with t3t4 turbo now maybe il get a lil bit more out of it ay lol but definitely upgrading later.
  7. Stock rods are same as stock 30et rods and forged pistons are harder on the rings.Stock oem bits are proven over n over again by RIPS NZ for doing well over 600hp and still running stock,like i said im only using it to run the motor in.
  8. Yea i thought running the new build in with a ser2 oem factory turbo with rev limiter set at 3500, all with factory ecu tune. Thats not bad for a 20 det oem turbo, so i will running with better numbers then ay. HX40 turbo is the next upgrade. Just good to know someone has tried it before i did
  9. Hi guys, I am currently building a rb30det with 30e block and r32 25de head. ACL bearings, OEM conrods, OEM pistons etc and ACL rings and the normal works on the head. Motor will be ready next week and i was going to run my motor in with a factory 25det turbo, question_ has anyone tried this?. and what sort of power were they gaining?. Im being realistic about the fact that im not expecting much HP from it. BTW im new to this site and thanks in advance for your time. Cheers Tex.
