Richard is currently building my rb30det so its good to hear some feed back from other customers. I've meet u before riceline and see your car all the time on queens rd, good to see your still working it. Are u still running the standard turbo? If so then thats awesome power for the little puffer. Hey Noy that is one clean GTR u have, one of my clients is right next door to your work so i see it all the time.

Pic's r up on the qr website guys, goto the left and click on "the track" then "galleries" www.queenslandraceway.com.au Track was very grippy, it see's alot of action so plenty of rubber down. Bumps at the end of the main straights in the brakeing area's r bad and getting worse. Dosn't bother the skyline to much but the little cars and open wheelers get thrown about pretty bad. I can't imagine how the bikes or go karts go on em!

There's pic's up on the qr website guys, http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au goto the left and click on track then galleries. P.S that girl on the right in the 2nd pic standing next to me is in fact our 3rd driver Darren! not sure what u were looking jay Jay about to get in for qualifing Jay on the start line Think thats Jay driving Warren pitting during the race looks like Warren a 7 litre monster bearing down on us Me getting ready for the final stint me wrapping things up

i've got a silver R32 sedan, <= i'll see if i can dig up a pic
-
I don't think there is a kit it needs a bit of custom work , it's all been discussed in the conversion thread

Oh i see, so what sort of mods have u done? big turbo, fuel system, computer, front mount, exhaust? i guess if u were pushing that much boost and power u were expecting it to give way reasonably quickly. I suggest a nice phat 3L bottom end, loads of torque and would probably work out cheaper!
-
wow thats pretty crazy, got any pics? is there much damage to the head? throwing a rod is almost the absolute worst thing that could happen!!! any idea's what caused it?
-
33NIZ, When u say u threw a rod did u actually punch it out the side od the block? U said u've had ya car for less than a month so i assume it was pretty standard, for a standar RB too pick up a bearing and punch a rod out is almost unheard of! What were u rev'ing it too? Did u remember to put oil in it?!?! (jk )
-
do u use different spark plugs? different heat range, gap, ect?
-
i heel and toe all my downshifts simply so i can release the clutch quickly without the nasty jolt. I also double clutch but only when i skip a gear, eg on the street u do alot of tight 90deg turns (side street off a main rd ect) so i'll be cruising at 60 in 4th, when i get to the corner i double clutch straight to 2nd and turn in. I do this all the time on the street but when i tried it in the race car (trying to do a skaifie )i found it a little to teddius and was getting lost in neutral. So i figured it best not to skip gears on the track. Works great on the street though

what did that set u back joel? and what size wastegate u planning on useing?
-
Yeah the chisel works well too I put that plastic boot on too, works well, i've given it a good work out and its actually improved my shifts cause my clutch engages right at the bottom of the peddle.
-
i installed mine last night, very impressed with the shift now. Its short and clicky but still smooth. Has anyone else installed theres? If so did u use the plastic spacer that sits ontop of the ball on the standard gear leaver? I ended up spliting it with a chisel (it won't fit over the ball or base of the shifter) and using it on the new one cause otherwise there was nothing to hold it down, u could lift it straight out.

As long as you sit down for it ,it will continue. You have to bite the bullet and contest the stupid ones....and ALWAYS write a letter of complaint when the officer is rude, uncouth or aggressive, to the Po;ice Commisioner, with a copy to your local member, the RACQ and the editor of the Courier Mail. Would probably only take a few dozen of them to start something happening. I would not accept the parking light thing. You could check your lights and have a globe blow 5 minutes later. Da*m We really mean't to get to that meeting, sorry we missed it ( Jay posting on mick51's pc)

The rear bar on the sedan is very different to the coupe. To get a coupe one to match in involves cutting the whole top off and inserting a 50mm deep section, then the 2 corners have to be extended about 20 or 30 mm. Blits make a GTR style sideskirt about $300 a pair

thanks for all the replies guys, i ended up smashing the oil pump. I hope VL oil pumps arn't worth much I'll leave the gear on and let the mechanic deal with it when it goes in for the acid wash and crack test.

BOV fluttering back though POD, Heat issues
MicK51 replied to geno8r's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GTST, Thats what appeared to be happening, the air filter is an apexi super suction kit. I should add that this only happened on the highway at 100kph in consistant rain fall. It's not so hard to believe, the air filter has a really high flow so water can get through it. With the turbo sucking in air it will pull the water through, it'll have no trouble going through the turbo and then collects in the ic because of the resticting tubes + gravity would play a part. The 1st time i noticed it we were on our way to the dyno and it was raining. When the car was doing runs on the rollers i could see a vapour shooting out of the tb, i had a look and noticed one of the vacume lines had come off and when the car was at full song the water was being pushed up out of the cooler and shooting out through the hole! There wasn't much water in there, a couple of power runs pretty much got rid of it all out of the hole but its something to think about. -
not if theres a plug in it How does the design of your pipes stop the water without restricting air flow too much?
-
Hi Guys, Have any of u guys had any dramas with your cai kit picking up water when it rains? We had a simular setup on my dads r33 and whenever it rained the ic would fill up with water! We were considering putting a drain plug on one of the ic end tanks!
