  1. Hi GTST, Did u ever have any dramas with your cai kit picking up water when it rains? We had a simular setup on my dads r33 and whenever it rained the ic would fill up with water! We were considering putting a drain plug on one of the ic end tanks!
  2. Thanks for the reply Trev, I tried useing a pully puller but the belt gaurd that is cast into the oil pump wraps around the bottom half of the gear and makes it impossible to use the 3 legged puller. I tried a 2 legged puller but there is not enough room between the oil pump and the gear to get the hooks behind the gear. I remember reading here that someone else had the same problem, but the search page won't let me search in one thread only. From memory they ended up cutting it off but i'm not sure how u could do it without damaging the crank.
  3. Hi Guys, I have been following the progress of this thread with great interest for some time now. I have an R32 sedan which I plan on converting to the 3L block in an attempt to find some torque. I scored a S2 VL block from the wreakers with crank, rods and pistons for $50 and am currently stripping it down for an acid wash and crack test. I’m stuck at the front of the crank with the timing gear, it won’t budge at all. From what I can see in the VL manual it is a press fit so I’ve been soaking it in WD-40 and banging it with a rubber mallet for ages. Can anyone shed any light on how to get it off? Cheers, MicK
  4. my mate had his new motor run in on the dyno, the mechanic ran the motor lean so that the rings would heat up and bed in quickly and that was it! Started doing power runs! Sounds like a good idea to me, running in a new motor on the street dosn't make much sense when u can do it in 5mins by controlling the fuel, idnition and load on a dyno.
  5. It was pretty cool, was a pitty morris's V8 was down at sandown but we still got to see next years car. The tour was cool, that guy really new his motorsport, but where was the A9X!?!?!?!
  6. could be a fuel pump, hook up a pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  7. I was just quoting off the bottle  Hey strutto, have u still got that in car vid of my skid? if so can u upload it? I lost my copy
  8. radiator fluid should be good for 5 years, however u should change if it boils
  9. make sure u top up ya radiator, my car got really hot after 1min 30sec of 2nd gear tyre smokin carnage. Might be a good idea to flush the system.
  10. hey come on guys, i put in a good effort at the archafield skid comp a while back. some advice for ya ska, clamp the rear brake lines and u can line lock 2nd = LOTSA smoke
  11. yeah i'm croozing down the coast tonight, probably meeting at mt gravatt at 8ish.
  12. i struggle to get 300kms to 55L driving to work and back (all 60kph zones) as soon as i hit the highway its awsome, 600kms to 55L when i drove down to grafton. It must be the closed loop kickin in, i have a standard ecu with a tuneable chip. makes about 200rwhp in a r32 sedan.
  13. anyone know of any dyno comps on the go in the near future?
  14. isn't the actual clutch plates in there own seperate viscuous oil that is sealed? If so then changing the oil won't make any difference.
  15. was a great day, my mates GSR ran a new PB of 11.5@123mph and then went on to win the ET bracket on sunday! Was lucky the other guy broke out cause Nick stripped 3rd and 4th gear in the final. I knew i should have gone on sunday too! That brown dato wagon was going a full second quicker than the last time i saw it race and was putting the rotor boys to shame with HUGE wheel stands. Was good to see the pac mx6 running consistant low 7's, i noticed they have Tony Wedlocks crew cheif working for them which i'm guessing must be play a large part in the low times. Tony's pro stock car is one of the fastest out there and i'm pretty sure hes the current champ. Trent for Mercury Motorsport would have to be in the running for the hand grenade award after spitting half his tailshaft clean outa his 200sx. My mate Chris unfortunetly blew something up on the line in his 10sec dato 1200 ute, that was a shame as it was a brand new motor and the car had just been mini-tubbed to. The kiwis impressed with new PB's for both cars, that sr20 powered gemi was awsome apart from the shopping trollie wing Archies car was running well till he almost lost it right at the end of the track, they must have taken some power out cause he ran 7.5's for the rest of the day. All in all it was a great day, huge crowd and some great racing.
  16. It must have happened on the saturday. Theres pics of it here http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....61&getevent=yes I knew i should have gone on saturday, hardly any of the cars i wanted to see raced on sunday.

    Go Karting????

what a awsome track, once it dried out u could almost hold it flat round the whole circuit. Turn 4 was a killer, i ended up spinning once and in the tyres the very next lap
  21. i'm less than a week away from seeing brockys A9X in the flesh!!!
  22. u can hire helmets at the track, its around $10 i think but u need to buy a hair net to for $5? This sounds very interesting, i might even race my car now that i have a new diff. And yes TeamKrazy, u can guaranty my dad will be interested in this. Might even have the race car ready!
  23. did anyone goto this? I couldn't make it, theres results and pics on the website but no mention of the 1000hp big block. I go past on my way to work everyday, was good to see someone has cut a big skid out the front Whats a performance workshop without a well skided street out the front, i don't know if any of u guys have been to mazfix but the road in front of there shop looks like the burnout pad at qld raceway
  24. this is a great idea, Jamboree ROCKS!. Pitty my car is in no way show worthy
