  1. 32 or 33?
  2. below zero climates could seriously stuff with your engine and its mechanical workings....for eg if you lived in japan and parked your skyline outside during winter Same as the heater/cooler on the oil filter.
  3. ISL33P please define your version of reasonable boost levels to achieve 450rwhp. Cause were running 18psi atm and achieving 320rwhp, and with 25psi were hoping to crack and get 400rwhp. gt35r .82 rear.
  4. In a GTR i have no idea mate, never done it. But I would assume so, as you can do it in a gtst. Perhaps someone with gtr experience can answer that one with more detail?
  5. Hey gtr660hp what times do you run on the national circuit at QR with your current GTR? Id imagine pretty quick times, since it sounds like you have heaps of experience with building them up. Maybe the other tracks to if you run them, sprint, clubman, and sportsman?
  6. I think like 80% of oil leaks is from the return line, with a shitty gasket, or the bolts holding the return line on are loose. Sometimes the hose connecting to the pipe can have a crack in it where it sees the most radiating heat. It can even be the oil feed line, might not be sealing properly and be leaking and the oil is running down the back of the turbo. They would have to be the most common problems without going into major problems, which arent as likely.
  7. The old piping which has just come off...was 2.5" from turbo outlet to the Inlet of intercooler then 2.5" with transition to 3" to the throttlebody, which has a silicon reducer on it to suit the 90 tb. The new piping I will be fabricating this week sometime to suit the new ARE intercooler will be 2.5" from turbo outlet with transition to the 3" for inlet on intercooler and then 3" out and all the way upto the tb.
  8. I believe the 90mm advertises the OD of the throttle body intake, not the ID. Same with the AFM i think.
  9. Yeh i was taught, if its got silver specs then its detonating and they are aluminium particles. You should see like a light line down the shoulder of the return, sorta 3/4 down, if its too far down near the actual thread lip its running too hot, if its too far up near the start then its running too cold, so go figure inbetween would say its running ideal. So long as there is no detonation. Good to see more then one person has the same idea of plug reading:)
  10. not really Craved. Its actually quite simple. We had it almost figured out by ourselves and then Slide came along with his diagram and that made it easy to finish off. We have a q45 tb on our greddy plenum on the 25/30. This is in a s2 r33 also. Now the diagram is in here also, incase anyone is worried about trying to hook up the q45 throttle body:) Kudos to Slide!
  11. you know not everyone has a bottomless pit for a budget like some people. Though items like that would be nice.
  12. sure its not a 1.5mm tomei restricter that you may have mismeasured? Find SK's table for oil control and follow that to the point and you should be good.
  13. Just a stab in the dark maybe got n/a rb30 pistons in an acl race series if they make them or maybe they were special order??
  14. Yeh i believe so...i did that with the 25 mounts to suit the 33. Unbolt the rb30 ones and then bolt on your rb26 ones to suit your rb26 crossmember.
  15. Full boost is made (18psi atm) 3500rpm i think...actually to be honest i havent really paid attention. I raced yesterday and i didnt really make an effort to note that sorta thing. Besides we spat the tailshaft out after all 3 uni's busted in half at the start of the first race, qualified 3rd in sports sedans....pissed off. 4k dump off the line, wheel spin for like 2 seconds and then BANG! Maybe if I could have raced for the whole day I may have had time to take a note of it, plus we didnt have the laptop with us for datalogging sorry It is a dedicated track car, so i cant just take it for a drive up the street to find out those sort of things about the car sorry. P.S I blame SydneyKid for the broken tailshaft The only thing that changed was the suspension for that race (oh and the diff)....But I must add the car handled about 500 million times better then before with the teins in it cheers gary.
  16. We used an ACL mls headgasket for the rb30det....no problems at all..though the head and block were decked/faced.
  17. I do gt35 .82ar & Greddy Plenum...and i dont think the manifold makes any real world difference. However it makes changing spark plugs easier, unclutters the bay, makes fitting the rb30det so much easier, as there is no worries with height issues:) I maybe wrong but i think those two turbos are the samething arent they, just people use the two different names to describe that particular turbo. Ones a old name and the other is the new name??
  18. fritter and I think alike I like your style buddy!
  19. First problem i can see with that is the 90 degree silicone joiner from the turbo outlet...the radiating heat of the s/s manifold will weaken the back part of the joiner and it will eventually blow through Two race meets our one lasted, then i had to tig an ally 90 pipe on to replace it. Not having a go at your setup...it looks very nice. Just giving some warning. Being a street car, it might hold up alot longer, but my money is still on that it will go sometime. Maybe wrapping the manifold? Could help. Very nice though
  20. easy out it...piece of piss mate. You wont get any skills unless you start giving things ago yourself. Watching someone else do it helps, but you gotta get that mechanical/engineering 'feel' inorder to be half good at these things. That means practice or forever be paying someone else to do stuff for you
  21. Yeh the other one we got from the importer was a std viscous LSD with a changed centre...a locked 2-way. But the whole housing is different. Thats whats changed. I would have figured they would have been the same. Ahh well we got the std one fitted with the tomei centre...all good now.
  22. The joys and compromises of turbocharged engines. Some awesomely magical turbo with a malleable rear end that can grow or shrink the AR based on exhaust gas flow as to eliminate all lag down low but not compromise top end power when at full song....a 1000hp turbo with no lag!! big smiles for everyone. One day it will come...one day.
  23. Thats what i was thinking of this morning....the ally corrosion...get the sameshit on the ally left out in the weather at work.....but ive never seen it that bad before. I assumed anyone wouldnt have let enough water build up in there to cause it, normally when there is mass amounts of water in there misfires occur....at least they did in my old ca18det after i degreased the engine bay and never got all the water outta the wells. interesting though For the sake of 20 bux i would get a whole new set of coppers and throw them in instead of re-using old plugs that are half buggered or worse.
  24. haha i would think you would be on that without cams...with cams lol be something rediculous like 900rpm...ok maybe not...but i got a gt30 and its on full song by 3500 untuned. 25/30 would be insane response. good for skids and drifting no doubt.
  25. Yep..like i said...if the holes have a thread in them then your cheering...Hope they do.
