  1. haha...yeh not really an internet mechanic (fabricator actually) have enough real ones in the household. But i admit you can learn ALOT from reading these forums. Dad never believed in the net, but now if we get stuck on the race car its 'Michael can ya pm sydneykid about this or about that and see what he reckons?' Ive gotten to the point now where im worried about annoying him cause im always asking him about race car stuff. anyway... I can see the point your both making about the manifolds and its been argued forward nad back a million times before. Always good to see though, something new is always bound to show up.
  2. my sards came with new orings all round. I suppose getting a direct replacement injector they would reuse all the same orings.
  3. Anything infront obviously is gonna create a airflow restriction. If you really want the extra cooling or advantage for heat dissipation, go one size bigger in your cooler, go water spray with some form of metho/water mixture, lol weld some maddog heat fins around your cooler. Ive always wondered if you covered your intercooler in those cpu cooling block things, you know one side is cold and the other goes hot, runs on power somehow. Wonder how that would fare?
  4. Reading SK's posts gives me goose bumps....you can feel the intensity just glowing from the post....FLAWLESS VICTORY! I love reading this stuff.....its soooo good. Gives me the experience i need to be the best internet mechanic around....haha. God im a tool
  5. Alot of truck intercoolers are factory black because of the heat reason. Backwards philosophy. Stealth is always cool.
  6. where are the parts located?
  7. Nice. Looks very custom. I agree with the piping verdict. I have a greddy plenum on my 33...only reason i got it was for the piping change and the tidying up of the engine bay, more access to often checked or changed things. Each to their own!
  8. well you are welcome to do that. it is your car. People are just offering their opinions and/or experiences to make sure you make the best choice before rushing into it. Cause no one wants to see a fellow member make a hurried decision which may cause damage to their engine.
  9. i believe it was something to do with the piping restrictions because of the space or lack thereof.
  10. what the hell are leads? Correct me here, but dont oldschool cars with dizzys and coils have leads to link em up to spark plugs right? Coil packs which are in skylines sit right ontop of the sparkplug with no intermediate lead connecting the two. Unless you mean the plugs?
  11. maybe take it to an aircon place and let them check it out...unless ofcourse someone knows what the problem is?
  12. sweet..good to hear its all cleared up:)
  13. Randy, the powerfc is a plug n play ecu, takes ya about 10 mins to install and like 10 mins for it to set itself up while idleing, and then your good to go. I think you can get them for like 1000-1100 with controller del, which is a good price. imo thats not mega bucks and its not running a bunch of wires through my car. Infact, correct me if im wrong, but there would be more time spent in setting up an air/fuel ratio controller then there would be with a powerfc? Not being rude mate, but what youve said just doesnt seem practical to me at all, or youve got your wires mixed up.
  14. I agree..sounds like a weapon mate! Post some pics when your done or getting close.
  15. I think if u were to reuse the standard runners...you could in no way reuse the top throttle part of the intake, as it was designed to take air from the centre and go down evenly, not fed in from the front. A whole new top unit would have to be constructed to at least try and feed the air from front to back and try to cover all 6 runners evenly, even though the bottom runners were designed to work with the stock top chamber only. Im only a fabricator, but from what ive read and seen myself, modifying the std top chamber couldnt improve performance as a whole all over the range, if at any range at all. Either leave the std plenum alone, or use a fully custom plenum or greddy unit which incorporates chamber and runners ready to bolt onto the head. Now whether they increase your power or not is another different story which is also debatable, depends on your engine and setup as per bloudy usual.
  16. umm nope...but i can provide the info i collected. its in the garage..ill pm it to you tonite, and i might be able to get a pic of it...ill see.
  17. no worries paulr33. Took me a fuse to work it out properly lol. That was for wiring a z32 to a s2 r33. I used cubes guide as a reference and then once worked out cubes and sk ok'd it. If you add that it should give everyone else an idea on how to do it.
  18. yeh you should do a search cause this topic has been coverd with some massive arguments for and against it, alot of interesting material too. In short, it wont work properly as it was not designed to take air from the front of the plenum, but the centre. Look into it more before doing anything. Normally only change plenum when you increase engine capacity.
  19. The wiring on the rb25det s2 is different to s1. S1 has four wires - 12v supply, 12v earth, signal supply and signal earth. While s2 has 12v supply, common earth and a signal supply.
  20. Is the camshaft end a splined piece with the other key in it? Interesting.
  21. good point there.
  22. not just injector itself..check the wiring and plug for it also. If you have a stethascope use that to check for the ticking of the injectors...if not then a descent sized screw driver can double as a descent stethascope.
  23. Have a look at the injector for no.6 maybe?
  24. exactly...lag city mate...i got a .84 rear housing on mine and its on a rb25..full boost doenst kick in till 5200rpm... and yours is bigger..so i would think like no boost in first gear lol.
  25. how much for suspension parts eg. pass side front lower control arm.
