  1. That is a good point. Its bad enough here and its not even cold yet.
  2. Good news! She fired up and idled perfect! I managed to get a new edelbrock fpr from performance wholesale today and with a little bit of stuffing around making fittings and whatnot, got the fuel system replumbed up and set! Ran it first with just the extractors and it was pretty cool. Hooked up the rest of the exhaust system and ran it again and fark me the supercharger is so loud....Hardly any real whine, its more like hardcore whiring and the induction noise is fricken sweet though also equally loud. I was a little scared actually, not being accustomed to such noises. Its all different. When I get the rest of the small shit finished ie. catch can, small exhaust leak to be fixed, egt wiring and accusump wiring done Ill take some videos of it running so you can too experience it This is how it looked tonight. It is quite a mess in there. Hopefully when its all finished it will be a little tidier! What an exciting afternoon. Im still stoked that it runs and with no leaks or major issues! Doing so many custom things all at once I was expecting a bucket load of dramas. I must say Ive been quite lucky so far.
  3. I wish I lived in canberra to give a hand!
  4. Slacker.... It always take longer...put it in then modify dump pipe, intercooler piping.... Stupid RB30's!
  5. BAM! Then RB30 powah!!!!!!!!
  6. lol yeh it is a tad. I over killed it all for E85 anticipation!
  7. Interesting. Cheers for that
  8. Well some exciting things have happened. After a big weekend I got the fuel system all plumbed up and finished. A shitload of little fiddly things that I came across also fixed. Earlier tonight I managed to start it and it ran for about 10 seconds before my shitty malpassi fuel reg shat itself. It split open and sprayed fuel everywhere, so now i gotta either try and fix it or just buy a new decent fpr and replace it and try again. No biggie though. Im happy with the initial start up too. Oil pressure came up nice and quick and there were no leaks anywhere. Lol well apart from the fuel reg! Otherwise I was pretty lucky I took these earlier on today. There is quite abit more shit in the engine bay now. Will get some more pictures tomorrow, hopefully with better news about the fuel reg too.
  9. Nice job! That is very extensive. So your running 4 wheel drive gear in a datto 1200??
  10. ive done it before with bungs at each end and one end with a nipple for gas line hooked up from another bottle and constantly purging. Just not on Ti. But a mate does repairs on aircraft bits and he said they have an inert enclosure thats full of gas and they weld in that...arms through gloves...like a sand blasting cab.
  11. New engine will surely be a monster! Nice selection of parts there, going for the latest bits on the market. Your bottom end will be good for 1500hp!
  12. Dont you need an atmostphere of inert gas to weld titanium also????
  13. Dunc you are better off buying the sizes you commonly use rather then a cheap bulk set. The taps in those sets arent the best quality and break easy. Just get some sutton or P&N ones. Any good tool shop or bearing shop should have them.
  14. lol I missed all the other questions in there....haha pays to read the whole post properly instead of just skimming and then reading the last line.
  15. Rods will be fine, just dont go past factory rev limit. For piece of mind you can get a set of spool rods. Affordable and will shit it in for the power you are looking at.
  16. Geez! And they call r33's whales!
  17. Yeh pretty sure the set we have at home doesnt have it etched on either.....
  18. Yeh John is a great guy and a funny character. Yeh Noddy, he had some health issues a while back and got onto the fitness bandwagon and I believe he has been doing it ever since. He may return back one day! Also, to correct myself he had a pink chaser, not soarer. My bad.
  19. Ah if only. I had BFD's tonight. Meant no time working on car at all.
  20. Yeh thats the plan. Well if anything goes wrong motor wise a rb30 will be going in!
  21. Lol yeh...only a lowly 25 in here. I wish it was a rb30det.
  22. If it doesnt end up fitting just 'tweak' the body work around it to make it fit.
  23. The last one is how its spelt. Vacuum. I had heard it wasnt till around 18-20inhg where you need seals and forced pin oiling. But that came from an ex toll racing cnc machinist, so who knows if its accurate. I think most supercars run around the 20inhg.
  24. Lol, I am hurrying Noel. My car is outside anyway, there is enough room to start working on the race car. I think its just too cold for him to do anything. More then likely it will probably be me doing most of it once my car is done. Im probably the only one silly enough to get down on cold concrete and not even think about getting sick! The old man is well....old and all he worries about is his health! So here is where im at as of tonight. You can see my dodge attempt at fitting the intake back up to the supercharger inlet. Im not proud of it, but I didnt have time to go into major surgery, hopefully it will do until I can get around to modifying the intake to just a 4 inch bend with a normal size pod filter! Check out the ebay 80mm TB I got. Seems to be the same unit alot of others use and apart from a couple of dodgy bearings which I had to replace and a new tps drive which I had to fabricate (see last update for picture) it seemed to be quite good for the money spent! I dont know if anybody else has got one and had it very tight to open, to the point it wouldnt close via return spring but mine was abit woeful. After pulling the whole thing apart and doing some measuring it turned out the bearing bore tolerance was too tight and as a result there was excessive crush, so much so that when you pressed the bearing in you couldnt turn the inner race by hand, infact even with just the shaft through them you could barely turn it still. After alot of polishing of the shaft and some light skimming off the outer race of the new bearings it all came good. The throttle shaft was also slightly oversize! The good news was it had the same bolt pattern as a Q45 and fit directly onto my greddy plenum! If you are looking at one, those problems could very well be present. Though chances are I just got a shit last off the line unit.
  25. Yeh not too much longer to go! Bang on Noddy. The big blue canister behind the intercooler is the accusump. 3qt unit. Fits nicely in there. The smaller one infront is their inline oil filter unit.
