  1. I use a npc clutch in case it matters...which it shouldnt. But the major thing ive noticed is the price between big jap brandname clutches and small time australian made clutches. 1000hp twin plate we use in circuit racing has been fine, i believe alot of drag racers use it also. What does your average 1000hp big jap brandname clutch cost roughly? incase someone can get a sweet deal, to compare.
  2. im fairly certain you can get a scratch resistent lexan that you could use to make a new front windscreen. Im also pretty sure it costs a fortune.
  3. no you dont need the std comp for anything with the sm4, im pretty sure it can control everything you throw at it. If you havent already, go trade it in for the new plug n play version. Will save you a heap of hassle. 200 what sort of racing you going to be doing with your car to justify an aftermarket sump? Nice build gemini90. Why did you keep the pcv valve there to the manifold? You should ditch it mate. Nice plenum on there too, i wasnt aware hypertune made them for rb25's? If so, must have cost you a fair bit.
  4. gearbox mount needs to be modified...weld abit of angle along the back of it to pick up the last two bolt holes. do it yourself and you might learn something about your car.
  5. um we used an acl gasket. We have a tomei one to replace it.
  6. another note...high compression and big boost can also equal a blown headgasket lol
  7. hahaha thats gold noel! mature age ofcourse.
  8. or use toluene 50/50 mix with that shell 100 You dont always need water/meth injection to keep det down, though it does work well.
  9. Im lost with marks gear changes in those few videos, they are way different to my own on both the sprint and clubman tracks. I can only put it down to the all wheel drive giving you guys the traction where i cant get it....i mean 2nd gear through the dipper and turn 4 and then into 3rd for turn 5 is unheard of....unless they were only mild laps??? Not going hard out yet or what? Did you guys have plenty of traction whenever using 2nd? Congratulations on the times too!
  10. they only make them for the rb26. The power steering pump doesnt line up properly, need to shim the pump forward about 6mm roughly. When you fit it all up you will see exactly what needs to be done.
  11. That sux mate. I swear it wasnt me, I was in melbourne over the weekend. Hopefully the carnts turn up dead somewhere with your parts at your doorstep.
  12. good power there bloke.
  13. so why didnt they just drop the exhaust off at the cat and run it up again and see what happens? catless is the way to go.
  14. what the? Shane actually has some skills relating to cars? im stoked mate....i really am.
  15. most skyline chassis which are 10+ years old would be getting soft and loose so to speak. They lose a percentage of their stiffness every year from normal driving and more so from racing. For a race car it is definitely worth doing and thats about the only car you would want to do it to.
  16. we made up some solid ally engine mounts and we welded up the std gearbox mount. At 370rwkws the std engine mounts seemed fine, one race meeting at 400rwkws and we broke the p.s mount. So i figured we would need something remarkably stronger for over 450rwkws. Best thing i noticed about the gearbox mount being solid was how easy it was to change gears. With the dog box, i found during one race i would crunch atleast 1 gearchange, after the mount change i didnt crunch any. haha solid mounts in a race car you cant even hear the extra noise from vibrations lol.
  17. just get the cp 9:1 pistons...easy town right there....might as well get a set of rods as well from brad. Then you wont blow any bottom ends
  18. is gtfo get the f**k out?
  19. A little less conversation, a little more action please.
  20. you dont need to pull it all apart, just make up the washer and then remove that one m6 bolt, silicon it up and bolt it back on.
  21. see how exxy his manifolds are.....goddamn. How you going to afford that shane?
  22. or.....you can make a washer thats oval shaped and put abit of silicon on that so it seals around the oval hole. Works just fine.
  23. If holden/ford (v8) hadnt whinged about losing group A back in the day so hard to the turbo'd cars i think circuit racing would be alot more interesting to watch and im sure there would be bigger club events with turbo cars encouraged to run rather then everyone thinking v8's are the only things to do real racing and that all jap import cars are built for drifting. I think the main problem is that a great deal of the cool imports are all street cars and owned by teenagers or very young adults and not proper race cars that can be allowed to race and risk getting damaged. Its the main reason why everyone is keen on doing timeattack stuff and staying away from anything physical.
  24. whats wrong with sards? Why is everyone whinging about them? Cause they use collars and you need to rewire the plugs?
