  1. excellent geoff...always welcomed....im expecting the usual brigade of noel and shane to come and watch/support and shout abuse and help bag the competition.
  2. awesome harry...so does that mean you dont have to buy it now..it is the complete thing?
  3. We will be aiming to be there race ready with the new setup, hopefully making more power then before. Everyone should come and see some backyard style race cars going hard at it for first place lol So whose coming...competing or spectating?

29th-30th is third round of state championships at QR. Will be better to see real race cars...ie circuit cars.
  5. I havent checked the latest cams book, but surely they would list what diameter pipe and wall thickness the chromemoly would need to be that would comply. Yeh there is alot more fuss when welding chromemoly then just straight mild obviously. Needs to be preheated to the right temp and then tig welded and then probably some post heat so it doesnt cool too fast so it doesn't lose its tensile strength.
  6. i have to a degree...but most of it is -6 as thats what i welded onto the std fuel rail. From the surge tank to the new fuel pump is -8 and to one length of the new fuel line is -8 and then -6 to the rail and -6 return to the rail and then to the surge tank. I checked the std fuel lines when i pulled them out and they were about 1/4" id in the steel line with about 5/16" od. New fuel lines are 1/2" id and the -6 is 5/16" id. So going up about 2mm in size should increase flow quite abit...atleast enough for what we want anyway.
  7. trent from mercury motorsports has a to4z comp wheel on his 35r .82a/r...makes 400rwkw at 20psi. 26/30.
  8. Im going to hold back my laughter.
  9. isnt that conversion for people who are pushing the 35r to its limit, so they swap the compressor over to the t04z wheel and it allows them to flow abit more...maybe go from 400kws to say 420-430kws or thereabouts. But a super efficient engine would be needed so there is no restriction, as said above i would also think the exhaust side would start causing an issue with back pressure.
  10. ive been told that std lines being 8mm or 5/16" will support upto about 500-600hp, over that and you need 10mm 3/8" for something like 800-900hp and as the sizes go up, the hp rating goes up exponentially. eg. 1/2" or 12.7mm will do something stupid like 2000hp. Hopefully someone knows for sure.
  11. I would imagine std rods would be getting to their limit at that stage....if not rods then rod bolts for sure. Wait a sec, are you talking engine hp or at the wheels? Engine hp should be fine....at the wheels then you would be getting close, probably same for pistons. Im talking more along the lines of the 500hp target.
  12. sounds great for people in the switch....local dyno and a bloke who knows what hes on about.
  13. Im looking to make sure we had adequate flow for about 700-800hp. But a guide for all ranges would be beneficial to alot of people other then myself too.
  14. He is extremely busy with his new work now...but as you said he does juggle alot.
  15. Ive heard alot of different thoughts from varying people about what size fuel lines flow what horsepower. Does anyone know pretty accurately what size lines can flow what horsepower? I tried searching, but it didnt show up many results. Cheers.
  16. you know what the answer to this one is.........solid lifters haha.
  17. No worries mate...ill start and finish it after work today, 4-5 hours should be plenty of time, might even have enough time to have it painted also. haha. Spare box you wont need...just a spare set of dog rings.
  18. Simon, just get a cams manual, pick a design you like and then get one made like that. For QR, im sure any real cage will suffice so long as its not a jap bolt in cage as they have too many bends in the front supports. But a cams approved cage will get you into pretty well any circuit racing.
  19. apparently the ignition loom can go shitty from the heat, could be worth a shot if you have another lying around somewhere. Quick change over to prove or disprove that idea.
  20. stupid day...by the time we got out there on our bikes....it had been postponed.
  21. hmm i think i maybe towing trents car from mercury there. Hopefully kyle will be running....it should be awesome. No doubt i will see you codgers out there too.
  22. noel you had to ruin the fantasy with a 'gay' pun....fark.
  23. now your talking col...giggity giggity.
  24. why hello fellas... so far the low down is jambo isnt cancelled at all. Everything looks to be on track...they are just worried about the grounds being a slush pit...other then that no biggy. Good thing the motor is in the back haha. Still probably a million bux worth of damage.
