  1. oil surge....fuel surge. Both shit things especially in racing. Im surprised you know what one is and how to fit one up but yet not know the purpose behind it.
  2. we have fixed it...put some s.s gauze mesh in the actual weld on fittings from the sump side...looks like it will do the same trick...and its better then nothing.
  3. 25/30 with stage 1 tomei poncams with a gt3040 will see fullboost just before 3500. That was 21psi for us at the highest.
  4. new gear was $103.00. We were lucky it didnt bend the shaft or stuff the key/keyway. Not bad. I thought it was going to be more exxy to fix.
  5. actually i checked the rears again...with a measuring device other then my eyes....backs are 323 X 1"(bout 25.4mm) I measured fronts when we just put new rotors on, and i eyed them off with the backs and they looked similiar, well 20mm smaller in diameter they actually are. Recap Fronts= 343mm X 32mm Backs= 323mm X 25.4mm Alcon monoblock 4pistons front and rear. Run SBS Dual carbons up front and Carbon Ceramics on the arse. My apologies for the fark around with the half arsed info.
  6. for the ppg gearset in a rb25 5speed. With the 26t spline uprated input shaft you need to run the std size bearing(23mm i think) and shim it up. We tried to run the bigger bearing (26mm) but it pushes the input shaft 3mm too far into the box. Thats what we have found out that was a slight issue with the gearset in the 25 box.
  7. Well we plastigauged mains and big ends at 1.5 thou'or .030mm i think it would be if ive calculated that in my head right...rough enough maybe? Need bigger for race motor with relatively big power, and doesnt get run in....gets built, straight on dyno and then raced.
  8. think ive seen that dry sump setup somewhere before.....make sure you use pre pump filters if 101 havent already....if they dont..shoot them and run a turbo oil feed filter also.
  9. 2rismo...correct. We couldnt fit the pre pump filters in where we ran the lines....was too tight. As a result when the turbo shat out all the ball bearings most of them made it into the tank in the boot except for that one...which killed that gear. Oil pressure was fine as it was a scavenge that was damaged, not the feed...good thing about the holding tank is the drain plug with its magnetic tip caught all the ball bearings so the feed was still good. Motors good luckily.
  10. It was a new one..however its just been rebuilt by Mr Turbo down the coast...so it should come back stronger and better. Lucky there. On the new motor we ran too tighter bearing clearances and the crank started picking up bearing metal and it clogged the oil feed line to the turbo..starved it of oil and bam...ball bearings in the dry sump tank! However that has now been rectified.
  11. Does it sport an adjustable pressure bleed off? That would be handy cause n1s and the like all have really high pressure...way more then the 10psi per k rule of thumb.
  12. scratch one more turbo..... -gt3540 However thanks to close monitoring we saved the new motor.
  13. Lesson to be learnt, make sure you run the inline filters pre pump or this can happen. Or dont blow the turbo! (Stupid plastic carriers)
  14. djr81 i finally checked our rotors and they are 343mm X 32mm fronts....backs are same dia but thinner...didnt check width sorry.
  15. im with Roy on that one.
  16. yeh need to be abit more specific to start with mate.
  17. goddamn...hasnt everyone whose gotten one of those adapter plates had issues with it. I havent heard of one person yet whose had a win with one straight off.
  18. i reckon the ops feed is better...shorter length of line to run and it doesnt have to cross the front of the motor.....but it probably doesnt matter.
  19. ive heard from a few people that sbs is supposed to be televising it.
  20. ive definetely gotta come to the next round. Sounds like there is real interesting stuff happening already. Sweet track action and heated arguments over rules and what not. It would be sweet to put the red gtr bloke in his place though lol
  21. ok not bad for semi slicks. I see where your rage comes from harry...its a fair point to make.
  22. I havent seen this red gtr around before....what times was he running? Im curious to know please. Sounds like abit of tosser also.
  23. aftermarket sump doesnt fix the problem....just helps you run around with more oil and hopefully a more reliable pick up. Definetely doesnt go there, and you probably should have knocked out the back plug and put that down to the sump for an extra drain point.
