  1. fark...30kws is good power, made just with playing with cam gears.
  2. 20 psi and im guessing around 3500-3900rpm...is that about right?
  3. yeh a colder range plug will drop knock a little bit...but not alot. From memory from what cubes informed me ages ago it was equivalent to 1 degree of timing pulled out i think or something along those lines.
  4. hence why you leave things on the safe side especially in summer. Lowers the chances of it going Knock, ping, bang and so forth. If you wanna go nuts with boost and timing in summer chuck a water/meth injection kit on it.
  5. i think youll find in aus down here hardly anyone actually uses jdm pistons or rods. Theres enough australian/american stuff here thats plenty good enough and readily available.
  6. injectors are before the valves. The oil let the loose rings in cyl2 seal better which bumped up the compression, temporarily. If they added oil to the other cylinders they more then likely would have jumped up much the same, so across the board would have been something like 155.
  7. 2. from memory the gasket protrudes into the water jacket so you build up that section of the jacket so it seals on it better. 3. it could be, but the webbing and block design is different to that of the rb25, we looked at doing that but it was going to be going straight through a web i think. From what dan is saying if your running the correct restrictors and rear head return, that you can block off that front one and not worry about it.
  8. 1. correct. 2. no water jacket that needs sealing up completely, if thats what is meant. If there is, we havent done it on either of the two 25/30 weve built for our race car. There is the waterjacket which doesnt have much sealing area for the headgasket, so we built that up with weld to match the headgasket. However alot of people get away with doing nothing for that one. 3. there is no front head oil return fitting in the rb30 block, just the turbo oil return. You can either block that off like Dan suggests, 'T' it into the turbos oil return, not the greatest way or weld a fitting to the sump somewhere for it.
  9. hmm so we switched the turbine housing over to the modified one by kyle and it holds boost perfectly now with no fluctuations, however its not making power. Before when it was spiking, it was making 290kw now its down to 220kw. I tell ya i feel like driving the whole race car straight into the brisbane river and letting it sink...starting from scratch, then i can use a 32 like i originally wanted. Oh Brad did you get my message last night?
  10. id put money on that trial built 32 oversteers every corner you try to gas it out of even with smooth throttle application. Its a drift car by the looks of it.
  11. No...it doesnt screw it up as it atomises as it enters the intake into the plenum. it cools the intake charge and the fuel also, drops the temps a fair whack so you can add more timing and boost without any dramas. Search for The Mafia + Boost Cooler for info on the setup he tried and alot of others also. We use it on our race car with great success. Its water and methanol, i wouldnt take the intercooler away, leave it but add the injection on top, intercooler still does a descent job. However, like anything it needs to be tuned.
  12. completely off topic..i like the tidy engine bay in the photo he has up for it though. Very nice. But yeh...you tell em r31nismoid. There is no honour in trying to sell free information.
  13. Its the whole guide and everything it contains from what i can gather.
  14. and i thought the gtr conversion wasnt that much more difficult then a gtst...seems like there is more to it then meets the eye!
  15. application will determine everything you do with your build up.
  16. whiteline can and have done them...just depends on who you know and how much work you do with them...like lots of business i spose.
  17. i know some blokes...middle eastern descent...could have the culprit/s admitted......to hospital ofcourse. done also!
  18. for a road car that is probably correct, for anything track related you need em all, even with back return and restrictors. Either way an extra oil return required or not can only be beneficial. But obviously as always these things depend on application and setup.
  19. I just noticed this post...sorry but Dan are you referring to the front oil return from the head. If so, you dont weld that up at all. You run that down to the sump, alot of other people just T it into the turbos oil return. The rb25 block has two fittings for oil return on the passenger side, one for the heads front oil return and the other for the turbos oil return. Sounds like your a little confused. Or are we not thinking of the same thing here, because its the only thing im aware of on the passenger side of the block.
  20. no galleries to block off. Just the vct...i built up that front water gallery where the headgasket has little area to seal on. From the front of the head you can see the channel the vct oil feed comes from. You just drill into that and tap it for a fitting to provide oil to the head from an external feed.
  21. very nice shane....im drooling mate, im deadset drooling.
  22. haha...actually i did. Since you asked ill add it into the post.
  23. Here are some photos of kyles manifold, it shows the wastegate pipe setup. These are for Sky30 more so, but it may be of some interest to everyone else. Just for you cubes
