  1. Thanks mate. But i gotta give credit to SK for giving me the low down when we first started all this. Would have taken us longer to do it right if he hadnt said anything. Cheers Gary.
  2. ohh yeh. power is addictive mate
  3. woot congratulations nathan. Finally got it all done hey. Feels alot better then the 25 hey? Oh got some pics of my rb25/30 also with the new dry sump setup.
  4. buster...that is a sexy 26/30...goddamn! Im in love.
  5. josh since when did you support east coast customs??? Are you being sarcastic or joking around? lol
  6. there are series 1 and series 2 rb30 blocks. Series 1 has the blanked off casting marks for the oil and water feed/returns. Series 2 has the same oil and water feed/returns except they are tapped and have bungs in them. So yes you are chasing a series 2 block with the bunged off holes. When inspecting a block..just look on the exhaust side for the oil return, oil feed and water return in roughly the same spots as your rb25. Piece of cake to find mate. If its got the bungs, it the one you want So long as the motor is in half descent condition. haha we bought 4 rb30e's outta vls from various places when we built the latest 25/30...they arent all in good condition.
  7. That is so true.
  8. so i guess a 16" davies craig seems to be the go then
  9. what tha? Just jack the front end up and wind the adjustment up evenly both sides and drop car down and see the height and keep adjusting like that.
  10. 25 harness will work fine. Just use rb25 sensors off the block and put them on your 30, eg. knock sensors, ops.
  11. Im pretty sure they are 12" also. Ive got a pretty good feeling its going to need a set of larger twins. Funny you should mention EL...my brother was just changing his wheel bearings in his falcon. Maybe he wont notice it missing hey lol.
  12. She lives...the new motor fired up just fine this morning...no major problems yet lol. The dry sump system seems to be working fine...no leaks and the oil pressure is pretty well spot on...Only real issue is the heat now, with no clutch fan cause of the dry sump setup, were running twin thermos and they dont push anywhere near as much air. Ill have to get some photos in here sometime soon too.
  13. ok..ill better that...how about a nice set of twins with the 3l block under the 26 head? Take a good 800rpm off the lag. Im just hooked on 30dets...
  14. Will probably get Bracken Ridge, Strathpine, Lawnton---->every suburb inbetween to Caboolture. Always wondered why there are so many cops patrolling around those suburbs
  15. haha yeh shane...maybe two * perhaps lol...nah i said in original post we should be turning over 250kws. If it doesnt turn over 250 then something is severaly wrong i must say.
  16. once youve driven a car with a 25/30 or better yet a 26/30...The power curve is very linear and comes on stronger from a lower rpm. Helps produce more mid range or average power...rather then peaky power with lag.
  17. yeh...if you could afford gearbox and diffs to change ratios around so you could have say six gears and the ratios were tailored to suit your setup and the tracks you mainly race on...that could help...so your in the right gear and in the power band pretty well all the time...like i said before...one corner were say 2nd is too high and wheelspin is an issue and 3rd just bogs down and drops you outta powerzone...what do you do? Personally I wish more money was available.
  18. you know DVS32R...lots of people say that about big turbos. Not to be negative or rude, but its not always like that when your racing. On some tracks its almost impossible to maintain high revs to keep on boost. And once you fall outta that powerband for a split second...by god it feels like almost half the field just passed you.
  19. Well i guess the headgasket could block it off....but i would tap and put a grub screw in the vct oil supply gallery. It would probably leak if nothing was done about it.
  20. Pfft...piston oil squirters are overrated. Engines can run just fine without them. Especially rb30's with their sweet as conrod squirters.
  21. lol..i just used the rb25 specs as well. Figure they would be all very similiar if not the same. Except for aftermarket bits that have their own torque spec.
  22. Timing belts are all the same through the rb range...except 30 hybrids. You can just use rb25 headstuds..like people do with rb26's on 30's as 25 and 30 share same size headstuds. However you would lose vct.
  23. nope...rev limit stays...only temp settings for ignition and injection reset.
  24. Wire in a kill switch like in racing...have it hidden under the dash and just turn it off and remove the key paddle and keep it with you...then they cant start the car regardless....so long as they dont find it and bridge it....that would suck.
