'Body Roll' Advice Please
Kristov replied to eXc's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Im in the same boat as eXc. I have a stock r33 (suspension wise) and was also looking for cheap handling upgrades. So what i gather from SK's post is that adjustable stabiliser bars would be the best place to start for basic track and drift work. Also would GTR sway bars be a good upgrade for GTST? Cheers -
Also unsure of the af ratios tuner said they were fine but the graph shows torque. It pretty much sits on 3500 - 4000 N (is that tractive effort or something). Does anyone know how to convert that.

Yeah to the best of my knowledge it is stock ecu boost etc. But when i went to get my clutch changed it had some sort of lightened flywheel unsure of type but would like to know (forgot to add that). But i doubt it would make that much difference So its possible it may have had a chip etc. About the car pulling hard it does from a little bit then hits a flat spot (not pushing you back in your seat) this is about 2500-3500 but goes alright from then on. Maybe im expecting to much. Picked up my apexi today . Had a talk to a tuner and he said i should invest in an avcr or some sort of boost control than runs off the power fc. Got like a bleed valve (not connected in dyno run) but he said they were crap for holding boost accurately etc. I dont know much about boost controllers show what should i get  So what sort of boost controllers you guys running and what do think of them? About the ecu learning it was unplugged for a little while then plugged back in to do the power run. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but.

Yeah i thought it was a bit high for the mods done. When he came out and told me what i got i didnt believe him i was like what horsepower or fly wheel kw's. But my guess is it is over boosting to possibly 9-10 psi. That could be intermitant(sp) yeah cos most times i can see it sit dead on 7 but twice i have i seen go higher than that. Interested to hear what you guys think. In regards to the dyno it was done in 4th gear. Im interested to see what it can make with the apexi (arrived today but i wasnt home so i have to pick it up tomorrow). What about the afm is it still ok to keep that?

Gee im a knob sorry bout that 1995 r33 gtst series 1.5. Everyone can see those pics alright?

Hey Guys just thought i would let you know how i went when i recently got my car dynoed. Mods to the car so far goes: - R33 gtst series 1.5 1995 Pod FMIC Exhaust Splitfire coils HD clutch Note- Stock boost Stock ECU Stock turbo Next mod im about to put an apexi pfc in. So i was wondering would i need to change the AFM as i heard they are only sposed to be rated a 300 hp there abouts. Also i will be putting a new fuel pump bosch 040 will that make a difference in hp (sorry if thats a noob question). Just wanted to get that out of the way instead of doing a mod then retuning then another mod and retune etc. Cheers Edit Sorry about the size of the pic im having trouble with the scale.

Hey Linton. Nicely done they look extremely good/ professional. I will take one when you get into production. Let us know how you go. :uh-huh:
-
^^^^Agree. Get rid of your stock ECU. By it self it will not support 18 PSI. Apexi, Wolf etc straight plug in replacement should do the trick.
-
I probably wouldnt run 18 psi on stock ecu cos from what i understand and correct me if im wrong once you run too much boost it kicks in to R and R (rich and retard i think). Which means it over fuels and retards ignition timing. So it wont make the power you would expect at at 18 psi. Do you have front mount? If not again i wouldnt run 18 psi through stock cooler. What else have you done to your car cos you probably need to replace the injectors and fuel pump if their stock for 18 psi. To answer your qusestion i dont know either. Do you have a bleed valve or ebc? Im guessing it doesnt have anything to do with your fuel reg.

Im interested to. Can the stalling/ backfire etc be tuned out on the PFC. Does anyone know?
-
Cool put me down for 1 r33 front strut. Can you get rears?
-
Hey Linton Im glad you posted this up as i was just about to pm you . Yeah no rush on the boxes my car hasnt had one since i owned it so no biggie. Did you install your pineapples hicas lock etc. How much different is the car.

If your car backfires does it damage the cat when it does? Also is it harmful to your exhaust or turbo?

Clutch Part Numbers?
Kristov replied to Kristov's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ok guys just picked up my car tonight after the new clutch install. My old clutch wasnt actually that worn out pretty sure it was glased? The new clutch is pretty much the as driveable as the stocker can slip a bit and engages about an 1- 1.5 inch of the floor. Also turns out i got a race/lightened flywheel unsure brand or what it is exactly but i would like to know. Ah well off the dyno for me. -

I pretty sure Eastern Creek is closer than oran park. But from what i have heard and not saying that i know sydney well oran park is another hour away? Once you install the the hicas lock and pineapples you have to tell if you notice much of a difference. oh and there is a group but for a drift hand brake button only 20 bucks if your serious about drift. Yeah agree with you i reckon you could probably drift a stockish skyline probably only need first few gears. Not like you will be doing high speed drifts when your just learning. I will be insterested once i get my car in order.

Hey guys. Have to say the cruise was good fun. Never been on one before so its good to see such a nice bunch of cars in one place :kewl: Linton im hearing you on the drifting thing. Only thing is we probably have to go to eastern creek/oran park. Thats a bit of a drive. How much did the pinapples cost as im thinking of getting a set to.

OK i ve been playing around in paint and this is pretty close to what i made. It worked for me i might not work for you. The first hole is either 14.5/15mm cant remember exactly shouldnt matter that much. Ok on the original insert the second hole is 10mm (too loose) so i made it 9mm. Made it 9mm because the gear lever is 10mm diameter it has a thread pitch of 1.25mm and i m pretty sure ISO metric fine thread. As a rule of thumb you make the hole 1mm smaller than the thread hence 9mm. If your worried about it being too lose try 8.5mm or something. Remember i used plastic not metal. So you can make the hole slightly smaller. You might have to modify the standard screw to get it to fit in the hole i got another with identical thread and ground it down on the grinder to make it fit. If it all works well should be albe to screw the screw in the top of the insert that goes in the actual gear knob, then screw it by hand on to gear lever. Mine fits fine no play. Let us know how you go. PS I was gonna post up a pic i made up in paint but im a noob and cant work these forums. I can email it to ya if ya want. -

Ok what problem exactly? With mine it was too loose so i removed the white insert i came with. Theres a screw at the top undo it an you can pull it out. Then taking the measurements of the original one i made another one but with the second one the second "staggered" hole inside it (if you look from the base the plastic insert has a number of "staggered" segments) and changed it from 10mm diameter it was originally to 9mm diameter. This alllows you to just screw it on to the gear stick by hand. As opposed to using silastic or glue so it is easy to remove if you have to. Made with pcv plastic bar and turned on a lathe. -
Clutch Part Numbers?
Kristov replied to Kristov's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So whats the deal with after it is installed. Do i have to baby it round for 1000km after it is put in? What about gear changes do i have to keep them under 3000rpm? Can i put it on a dyno or do i have to wait till after the first 1000km. -
