  1. well done d00dz!!! hahaha
  2. The dinner was great! First time at the Lowenbrau Keller and loved it
  3. Cool. Thanks MintR33. Does any manufacturer give you the RMS output? I have a Pioneer headunit. I've looked for power figures but everywhere I see doesn't state RMS. ..... nevermind.. I just found it on the specs page of my headunits manual. Maximum power output 50Wx4 @ 4ohms Continuous power output 22Wx4 @ 4ohms
  4. I'll have to check out that jaycar amp. You bring up a good point though. If the head unit is doing 4x50watts (I'm assuming RMS) then is there any point running a 4 channel amp which is doing (seemingly) the same job? Still though.. a 4ch amp doing 50w/ch RMS is much larger than an ordinary headunit. I could only assume that the amp puts out a better quality signal once amplified. I'm no expert though!
  5. Mine has that.. just checked it. I only looked at the drivers side though. Mine also has a fairly firm black cable already going through it. Does anyone know what this might be for?
  6. RANDY I reckon I'm going to end up doing the same as you! I initially bought my amp with more power than the speakers could handle with the idea that the amp would never run at full load and hence generally produce a better sound. However, even with a smaller amp I doubt I'll ever need max volume. I'm looking at a 4x50watt RMS (@4ohm) which is 2 inches shorter than the one I bought. 4x50 RMS is plenty right? ... I don't normally listen to music really loud and I don't want my ears bleeding! .... can you tell I've never set this stuff up before?
  7. hmm... well we have the same car RANDY so I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with the same trouble. Though heslo said he got it through another hole and he's got the same car too! We shall see where this wire runs when he posts up his pic.
  8. Thanks for the hints so far guys The biggest problem about just pulling it through is that the tube has a big kink in it. But I reckon that plan along with 2GU UP's plan would work. If I pull the rubber out of the door I should hopefully be able to straighten it out and pull cable through easier. heslo if you can post up a pic that would be great. Your idea sounds like a good backup plan
  9. I'm soon to replace the stock front speakers in the line with some nice splits and I was going to replace the speaker cable too. However, I've had a quick look at the cable routing and it looks like it's going to be impossible to pull new cable through the rubber tube which joins the door to the chassis. Has anyone done this before? I'm hoping I don't have to pull the door off! BTW.. if I were going to run the splits off the headunit I probably wouldn't bother changing the cable but I plan to run them off an amp Any handy hints are much appreaciated. Thanks
  10. I'm with you there RANDY! ... although the problem I have is that I already bought my amp .. and I don't particularly want to change it now. I think I'll have to go with a setup like d00dz has. It looks good and doesn't really take up any boot space. My only annoyance with it though is stuff in the boot that will keep on hitting the amp potentially scratching it, or worse, damaging the cables. I suppose one could just make a cover for it. d00dz, I take it you just used a piece of carpeted mdf or similar for the panel that you've bolted the amp to? Where did you get the matching carpet from?
  11. Would you have any pics of where you relocated the fuse box to? I might have to do this too because I really want to place the amp I just got in that spot near the battery. There isn't enough space as it is.. need roughly 2 inches more. An alternative I've been thinking about is possibly moving the entire tray that holds the battery and the fuse box over to the left a bit. That would give me enough room though I'm not sure how easy it would be.
  12. That looked pretty good... the chilli teriyaki chicken wasn't too shabby either
  13. not sober enough to drive home yet....
  14. I'll hopefully see you guys there. I'm only a hop away so I really don't have an excuse to miss this one! Don't know about pre dinner drinks though..... I only just got back from lunch/drinks!
  15. This day looks like it's gonna be HUGE! Put me down. I'd like to know what my almost stock skyline has before I do anymore mods
  16. Count me in B)
  17. They look pretty damn good.. even with the large radius bends. Can't wait to see how they fit on the cars. Take plenty of pics!
  18. Could it be these guys? Melbourne Headlight Exchange Pty Ltd Unit 2/ 130 Bridge Rd Keysborough VIC 3173 ph: (03) 9706 3922 Auto Parts Recyclers I couldn't find any website link for them.
  19. Putting your headlights into an oven to pull them apart is going to be risky.. especially if you've never done it before. When I got my R33 series II my headlights were (and still are) frosty looking because of the crap on the inside you just can't clean. I did manage to find a place in Blacktown called Plastifusion and all they do is headlights. Link --> Plastifusion They will do the hole oven business thing with your headlights, polish them up (inside and out) and re-seal them again. Unfortunately for me though one of my headlights has some fine cracking. In that condition they won't pull it apart to polish it. I basically need mine replaced Anyone know of a place where I can source some cheap series II headlights? Nissan want $1000+ for a pair
  20. I'm still interested too. Keenly waiting on the sample cuts!
  21. Lift to the pub? ....hmmmm too much anus chicken for you! I left right behind Richard and Joy and I certainly don't remember stopping at any pub.. let alone someone else in my car!
  22. I second that! Great dinner with great people. Thanks for organising it Richard! Too all...have a great Christmas and new years!
  23. You can count me in too! Sorry for the REALLY late response. Hope it doesn't screw up reservations.
  24. Try Just Jap in Kirawee. I got one from there recently for my RB25. Thought I should change it whilst I had the clutch being replaced
