  1. No, both ends are different and the length would be wrong as well
  2. You'd have to look at the total piston area to see if a rear will be required but without looking at the specs, at a guess I'd say to get shorter and more consistent stopping distances you'd need a *matching* rear upgrade (provided all your bits like tyres and suspension are up to the task).
  3. The more racier the tyre the gripper they will be once heated up, but you give up tyre life and comfort. RE-01R's are an excellent tyre, its one of the best ones before hitting R-compound semislicks. I can get them cheap, and hence I run a set myself.
  4. Nice to meet you Amy, who would've thunk eh? Yavuz teaches the fundamentals of engine performance and tuning and you can apply that to any car and any ECU (as long as you can access it) just like using a NOKIA and a SONY ERICSSON so to speak. He also shows you how and why things happen and how you can extract the most out of your setup... well actually, he'll teach you anything about high performance engines and dyno tuning
  5. Eager beavers! lol Those dates is for everybody who hasn't previously attended. As Yavuz was saying we'll work on a follow up session to build on everything you've just seen, learnt and done. Now that he's gotten to know you, when there is a group on the same page ready for the follow up session, we'll be sure to notify you.
  6. Next sesion, dates available are: April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16 All enquiries and bookings to: ALPHA OMEGA Parts & Services: [email protected] We group people with similar skills and knowledge, so the best thing is to select as many dates as possible that suits your schedule and if there are enough similar people to yourself, we will go ahead with a date that the whole group is available on. Also, Unigroup Engineering were so happy with the way the first session went that they will extend the $350 offer
  7. I came at the end and I learned so much in that little timeframe, like how and why ignition timing affects torque so much, fuel atomization, usage and economy, decay and corrections. Yavuz is exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled as you can expect from a person who holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is also a seasoned professional dyno tuner, especially when it comes to explaining concepts in regular english. Unigroup Engineering and ALPHA OMEGA would like to thank the first group (including a female, OMG?) for their support, and the next session will be up in the next post... Here a quote from one of the participants on the day:
  8. te37's now only $2400, pirelli's only $1200 brand new! here's the updates (since I can't update first post): http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=433335
  9. They're both at positive castor, the machine is reading right If you had negative castor your wheel would be somewhere in your door. The reason why one side is set to have slightly more castor is due to the camber of the road - all else being equal, if you set both wheels at the same castor then the car will pull. If it's scrubbing with those settings then you either have too big of a tyre, too low offset on your rims, your chassis/suspension is bent, a combination, or if it's only a tiny bit of rubbing you can remove the plastic splash guards.
  10. As said driving whilst flat/low pressure will damage the sidewalls, so replace the tyre. To the fella with the accord euro, a relatively crap tyre with way too much camber (and probably too much toe) will put huge amounts of load on the hinge point of the tyre, which is probably why you got so many blowouts.
  11. Glued on with antissqueal? If so then just pry them off and bobs your something
  12. Only nissan would sell that layshaft by itself, otherwise all other (aftermarket) manufacturers would have it coupled with new gears with different tooth profiles. Flywheel, if you get a steel one for strength then don't lighten it as you will weaken it, the jap clutch kits that come with flywheels are not steel but are excellent from what I've seen.
  13. Use metal hubcentric rings instead of plastic - plastic melts. With +30 and -30 offset... -30 would have a much bigger load because of the extra arm length/leverage in relation to the turn. Spacers/lower offset doesn't "wreck" bearings or sheer the studs themselves, but they certainly do put exponentially more load on them so you can expect a shorter service life.

About Yavuz and Unigroup Engineering Yavuz first started high performance engine tuning in the early 1990’s on carburettors. He proceeded on to formal education at the University of Technology Sydney gaining a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, which is his greatest strength as a high performance engine tuner. Since then, Yavuz has participated in countless training courses including those held by engine management system manufacturers, and has also worked in the field of vehicle emissions testing which further strengthens his tuning experience and knowledge. In 2002 Yavuz co-started Unigroup Engineering with the main focus being high performance engine tuning. This key aspect differentiates Unigroup Engineering from the others as their core business, from the very first day, has been dyno tuning. On average Yavuz spends 20 hours a week tuning high performance cars as well as tuning for best emissions for EPA tests; he has tuned hundreds of cars to date used for road, rally, drift, drag and circuit racing. His passion is now in high tech high performance turbocharged fuel injected vehicles but still likes old school carburettors and distributors.
  16. Great excuse. The more you post the more you make a fool of yourself.

  19. Are you still going on about this? I'll quote you line for line then... Surely you don't need me to spell it out for you? It means half the lap times, double the cornering G's, half the stopping distance. That's the point I made, you don't get double the performance for double the money, or half the performance for half the money, and I said I don't understand when people say that. You came to my rescue with this... It's been established that your price for 595RSR is too much (cost less than $250). It's been established that your price for R888 is about right. It's been established that your price for RE55S is too little (cost more than $360). That is not "almost exactly the same". Half the money for RSR and do you get half the performance? No. Anywhere near half? No. Change your word "half", to "double", and you get... Double the money for RSR and do you get double the performance? No. Anywhere near double? No. Less than $250 for RSR and more than $360 for RE55S is hardly "exactly the same money" or "almost exactly" or anywhere near "exactly". "run rings around them"? How fast can you lap on RSR? How fast can you lap on RE55S? How many laps will it take for your RE55S-equipped car to overtake your RSR-equipped car. How many rings does that equal? I'd take a wild guess and say none. Perfectly, thanks for agreeing with your interesting use of the words "exactly" and "run rings" and "half".
  20. whatever? lol You get more performance for spending more money? Great. You get double the performance for spending double the money? lol
  21. D02J? If you mean D01J, you'll only go to them if the DZ03G's aren't available in the size you're after
  22. You're paying too much for RSRs. Those R888's are grey imported, try price the proper current australian stock australian compounds. RE55S in 235/45/17 for $330each? No chance, not even close. You need to do a bit more homework
