I've alwanted wondered that Jay and first i assumed you were 19. But seeing your ugly mug on facebook you definitely aren't 19 and when you mentioned kids ages ago i was like hhmmm... I got no idea between the differences of Noinkon, but if it's like Canon e.g. Using an EF-S lens on a full frame camera, it's still workable. You can only blame the lens on the sharpness of the photo not the light Silver is the easiest colour of cars to take photos of. Whether it be flashes/strobed/light painted. Get a brighter light and don't park under orange street lights?

Calendar of him, would be epic. Although not a sight to behold! I think Matts point is, it doesn't matter what lens your using, it matters how you light. I think the lens your talking about is the Nikon 14-24 2.8. Good lens. White balance is a bit cool, but thats expected because your using a LED light. Metering is to no avail here because you can't meter accurately enough as you are not providing constant light (e.g. flashing or strobing) and it looks pitch black where you were so the meter will be wrong and it will tell you to go longer than 30secs. Light painting is about experimenting and finding the settings correct for you. The Camera couldn't of helped you out in this case. The more you do the better you will get at it.

Woodsy - You need a brighter light. Looks as though its too dark and can't bring out the highlights of the cars. Or use a diffuser that doesn't diffuse so much light Matt - That sky is some sweet action right there. You shoulda drove two seconds away from your house to that road where all the development is getting down and taken some snaps so you can shoop skies into your shots later on! Think ahead son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sidd - Send me an email with some product shots i'll see what i can do. Also, let me know what you want done lol. Best way to do it is to use a light tent (at least white walls everywhere) and bounce off everything.

It could be a composite. E.g. Take a panning style shot and then a normal shot of the car and shoop it together. You can't see the wheels. But by the looks of it, its a filter/plug-in cause there is a little halo'ing around the front bumper on the passenger side that makes it look like its been masked in.

Well i can make a comment about what to shove into your missus's mouth, but that wouldn't be very nice. And i guess, im in a extremely humourous mood, so i will just laugh about it to myself If i got told to just drop my camera and never touch it, i think it would be in my head still "oh that would be a rad shot", wish i had my camera, etc etc.. When your a photographer/serious about it, everything you vision is to do with photography. You can't just tap that out!

10 cars!?!?!?!!? By yourself? Holy sh!t. If it was like a group shot and thats it, then it would be fine. But 10 individual cars would take almost an entire day, at LEAST 12 hrs allowing for lunch/dinner, moving spots etc.. 10 cars i'd charge $3000 at least lol. Way too much work, not only taking the photos, but travel, your own time, food and the longest of them all... processing. And then organising digital copies/prints for people... bah!

I'ma fly to SA and slap your missus silly. Although if you did spend heaps (which im sure you did as we all have) and made little income i can see where she's coming from. Maybe you shoulda busted out the, you've spent a lot of money on clothes and inscent candles with no income from it! Keep at it man, no point hanging the camera up if you still got it. You'll look back on them when your older and remember the good times! Matt - Lolz0rz at yin and yang.
