  1. If it's a single car, around $150-$200 depending on if they want light painting or not. Will go up more when i get my rig too.
  2. I shall have a look. Otherwise Matt might have some shots with smoke
  3. Pretty sure i posted one pic of your RX-7 on the previous page.... i think lol.
  4. Hahaha i dont think so. Especially because i'll be a lot busier. I think 2012 i will do it again. So bi-yearly i'll do it
  5. Yah, pretty bad halo'ing. I'm assuming this was a one shot HDR and not 3 shots combined? Just judging that by the details, unless you cranked it all down so it looks more natural - If thats the case, GOOD ON YOU!!!!! Overdone HDR's suck especially with cars. Basically what MATBOY said. Open your HDR image. Open your normal exposure before you created a HDR. CTRL-A and CTRL-C to select all and copy it. Go to your HDR image. CTRL-V and paste it on top. Click on the "camera" looking thing in the bottom of the layer palette which is a mask. No need to invert it because you want to keep the original exposure and paint in the car/ground/rails. Change your brush colour to black. Become picaso and paint in what you want! DONE!
  6. F1 goodness is FTW!!!!! Chase - Quality shouldn't be affected at all by going from full res to low res (web size). As long as you re-sharpen everytime you resize you'll be fine and it will be of even better quality than full res because it will appear sharper. 23MB files sound like you've got around 15MP. So when you resize down to web size, re-sharpen it (not the full amount you use for full res, half it e.g. 40% for full res, use 20% for web size). If the quality is still compressed and artifacting, then your not resizing to the proper size and your image hoster is compressing it down for you. Sweet pics! As always black is hard to shoot with especially on a sunny day with lots of reflections. I think you did pretty well
  7. Epic videos! Skids are FTW! Grab a disc if you want
  8. Project 365 for this week
  9. You HAD a very nice example of sex spec on your numberplate today, but you took it off!
  10. Just woke up. Sleep was epically amazing. Some pics will be up soon lol.
  11. Sweet colors Sidd! Definitely pops. I wonder why your powering through batteries so much!? Even at full power for 2 hrs should be one set max! Must be taking heaps of shots. I'm sure there is tonnes and tonnes of awesome moments during indian weddings though. I always picture elephants when i think about indian weddings i dont know why lol..
  12. Hahahaha. Theres so many ideas i would love to try out, but just dont have the time. Would be awesome for project 365 as well! (for you too)! The homeless man idea is sick!! I'm sure if you went up to him and said sit still for 5 seconds and i'll give you $5 he would do it! BNR - Is that a proper full size F1 car? I thought they were so much bigger!!!!!! So jealous of you even getting to hear one in real life! Yet you get to see it driving around on your main roads! That thing at full song would make white stuff appear on the lens.
  13. I'm not saying you didn't give tips/pointing the finger at anyone, it's just a general thing at a whole. People are better at shooting things e.g. you are great at weddings, whereas for example you might suck at shooting computer screens and someone else is good at it, if you know what i mean hahaha. I wouldn't say we are all n00bs either. To the general population we know at least 90% more than they do about photography, (beginners) that is. Why are you getting paid for weddings, if your a n00b! <-- Because your not
  14. First two weeks, i'm out. Wakefield on Sunday the 5th and then the Jim richards dinner thingy
  15. Another person getting there post count up? Nah couldn't be. 6 threads just revived themself from the dead for no reason. There is a ghost!!
  16. I propose at future meetups we follow this structure: Depending on what we are shooting etc...: Tips whilst shooting - WHY you posed her like that/why you shot it like that/why you composed it like that If lighting things - What settings on the lights/camera? WHY? Accessories used - Filters etc.. Why did you use them? What do they achieve? Sharing photos and asking other people what they think of them. To YOUR eyes it might be fine, but to someone else they might not like it. Whether it be CC or they like it, ask around. Take there opinions on board and continue shooting. Specialty - If its model shoots/cars/seascapes, who ever has some experience should ask around that everyone is enjoying it/knows what they are doing. Where the focus, why its in the shot etc.. Give out some advice of what you do. Even if they dont like it. End of shoot - A wrap up and proposal for next meetup. Processing - Post up your shots and ask for CC. Any CC given should be clear and thorough. Why you processed it like that, etc etc etc... If these meet and greets are to learn, i think we should at least host it like a mini workshop. No point people coming along and just telling them to "Shoot" without explaining things. Theres bound to be some n00bs coming along in the future. Remember a key point: When we were all n00bs, the people we asked questions/read up on etc.. had to deal with us and they were friendly about it, whether we were annoying or not. Treat the people asking you questions (providing they are relevant and you dont give away all your secrets if you dont want too) as if it were you a few years ago when you were learning Thats all folks (insert - Bugs bunny voice) What are your thoughts?
  17. Barra - I would sh!t myself if i saw that. First thing i would do is turn the BBQ on and light that fcuker up. Snakes scare the fcuk out of me. Theres brown snakes around my area as its surrounded by bush that surrounds Manly Dam. A few dogs have died over the years being bitten by snakes on some of the tracks. If my dog got bitten i would go straight after the snake no hesitation and beat its head with my foot a million times over! Besides that, i'd run away like a 10yr old girl. Jay - Love those slow shutter shots! Something about them i really like. I've always wanted to do one in Sydney's CBD at peak hour but have one person stand still and everyone walk around her waiting at the traffic lights. Matt - Sweet shot! As Sidd said, the windscreen reflections are my only nag, but nothing major. Sweet job! One from me.
  18. The Canon 50 1.4 isn't that sharp unless you get a good copy. But then again, same with the sigma. Shooting cars and landscapes are two different things. Thats going from Ultra Wide angle to telephoto range. I'd say your after a zoom if you want to do all this stuff in one go. For landscapes, i'd go a Sigma 10-20 for your budget. Amazing lens. For an all rounder, the Tamrom 17-50 is a great lens. Versatile and a good walk around for a crop body. Personally i'd go the sigma 30 1.4 but i have a love affection with them. Used one once and loved it. Although i've used another one and it had backfocus issues that needed +18 micro adjustment. If i were you i'd break it up into two lenses. One for the landscape aspect/cars, and then another for everything else you want to do. But given your budget, sounds like the Tamron would be a good choice. Totally up to you! Decide whether you want a prime or a zoom. Zooming with your feet is fun
  19. Really depends what your shooting... If your shooting stuff in small places that is inside, your going to struggle to get full body shots if thats waht you need. Everyone always asks what lens they want, but never specify exactly what they want to shoot. If its cars, 50mm will be fine.
  20. I'd get a Sigma 30 1.4. 50 will be too long for most things on a crop.
  21. Thanks Owen. Yeah it looks much better. GMASTR - Were you in the Z-Tune? We was stalking you. Am pretty busy at the moment, but heres a quick edit.
  22. A Finished shot...finally!
  23. So... After finally getting 2 hrs free - Shot that was posted on 1st page...Finito! All in all, i'm happy 1/2 Done Finished - Unsure if you can spot the differences because its low res but you get the jist. Main thing that took so long was the friggin light reflections off the buildings in the background.
  24. So thats what your numberplate means! My missus asked me on the night and i only got a quick look at it and couldnt figure it out. Hahaha. Glad thats off my chest now. Oh and glad you like the shots Thanks for coming!
