Lol flat! Hahaha. Mid-range i'd say. 200mm+ is super tele, 70-200 is telephoto, so i'd say mid-range focal length is a good term But good advice seeing as you don't want to spend much, $150 is nothing compared to $700.

50% of photographers hate ken rockwell. 50% like him. You choose. Me? I hate him. Anyway, Get a wide angle!! If you do landscapes you'll want a wide angle. Sigma 10-20 will your cheapest option although for $700 you can't get much unfortunately that is good in all aspects e.g. Minimal CA, Minimal distortion, Minimal flare, Minimal softness, Sharpness. Otherwise if i was you for $700 i would buy a Sigma 30 1.4 or a 50 1.4. Awesome lenses!

CS5 will though, looks like you'll need CS5 OR possibly CS4. Wait and see.. I'm using camera RAW 6.2 at the moment with CS5. I'm pretty sure camera raw 6.3 will come out supporting the 60D but only with CS5.

Not having a dig at you, but you should be careful about editing other peoples pics mate. Some people (Mostly US people) get extremely offended if you don't ask if you can re-edit. I'm sure none of us here would mind, but still, would be nice to ask Nice edit though, i like it and good tips for the noobs out there!

Those two blue 34GTR's really look nice with the HDR effect. I think it suits the photo. By the way, you need to clean your sensor! If it's not your sensor, you need to clean your lenses and/or filters! So much dust spots in the last two photos!

Congrats Owen, hope you enjoy it. Yep, you'll need CS4 or CS5... The thing with adobe is that when the newer cameras come out they only give out certain updates to camera raw etc.. until the new photoshop comes along and then any cameras released after that aren't supported by the old photoshop.. It sucks, but thats how they rake in the cash. Enjoy all the new gear!

Wow! You thought about coming over for superlap from perth!?!?! Holy sh!t, dedicated much! Anyway, here are a few muck around edits. All natural lighting. Just tweaked in photoshop. Obviously a few errors as i didn't spend a long time on them.

Lol little bay is easily an hour and a half for me. Theres lots of industrial areas out there, lights from the stadiums and gritty stuff, good for car shoots. I don't know where half of them are though. Might want to wait it out until the NRL finals are over also, or do it on a different day. Don't make it a final day lol. On another note... Just mucking around. Lighting was two AB800's.

I'm keen for some beers and photos. Sidd you love that place don't you lol.. That the same place we did the model shoot ages ago yeah? We can always head out to my area on the beaches for something. Maybe shoot a few cars before sunset, take a few sunset shots, then take a few star trail shots or something? Probably best to vote on a location. Bring the girlfriends so you can drink more I think a Car shoot followed by some landscape photos followed by XXXXXX Would be a good idea. Would be like an SAU workshop lol.

Sidd i've got a copy of CS5 for you, just awaiting you to return my octabox AND i found out last night, my light stand!!! Had to use my old sh!tty ones for a shoot! It's of course genuine..................................... Zennon - There are plenty of tutorials out there for selections and as always with photoshop there is about 10 different ways to do it also. Owen - Probably one of the best things you could do is come to a meetup (if there ever is one) and ask people/learn first hand. Best kind of practice IMO. Ask people how they got that effect, why they chose those settings etc etc.. I'd be glad to help you out. P.S. I'm keen on beers and photos.
