  1. Nice Mat! Did you get cactus triggers? One day, i will let you borrow my strobes
  2. What kind of camera do you have? IF you don't hve a camera with microfocus adjustment, then this chart won't help you. All the charts on the interwebz are meant for cameras with microadjust. Basically i dont know the technically terms and nor do i care what they are, but if your lens focuses more in front, you go to your cameras microadjustment menu and you dial in front or back. Which in laymans terms means: Move focus forward or backwards. I'm sure Zennon on here will have technical terms
  3. Haha, Mat doesnt own a D3s!?!! Pretty sure he has a D90. And i have a 50D (soon to be 7D or 1DIII or 5DmkII...SO HARD TO CHOOSE!!! WANT 'EM ALL!). Barra - That example at 1.4 is WAY too soft. That is a terrible indicator for a test sheet as well. Go here, print it out. It is recommended to be done at 45 degrees, actually, just follow the instructions. I've used it, seems to work well, but i prefer fine tuning in the real world because different focal lengths at different distances = different adjustment. Got to find that balance. But, as you have a prime, this should work fine! REMEMBER - 1.4 WILL ALWAYS BE A TINY BIT SOFT. Try stopping down to 1.8 or f/2. I recommend live view and zoom in to 10x and microadjust from there. Good luck and post up results. http://focustestchart.com
  4. I'm ready
  5. Zomg! Friendship void! And i believe Mat shoots Noinkon too. Friendship void! /Started a war?
  6. Hahaha sorry. POTN = Photography On The Net. PHOTOGRAPHY ON THE NET - Canon forum, but seriously, even if you don't own a Canon, highly recommend joining! So much resources!!
  7. I read it somewhere on POTN.. Can't remember the topic now lol.. But a few guys found inacuraccies and they knew what they were doing. But it was with another chart, not this one. So i should re-phrase! SOME test charts are inaccurate Better Zennon?
  8. Focus test charts can be inaccurate so try some real world testing as well. Remember, shooting at such a wide aperture, requires patience and it's a learning curve to get sharp shots. Most lenses wide open will be a bit soft, but especially at 1.4-f/2 if your subject moves a tiny bit or your focus is a little bit off, it will have different results. The DoF at 1.4 from like 6ft away is about 2 inches. So not much room to play with. Maybe try and shoot at different distances, e.g. 5feet, 10 feet, 15 feet, 20 feet and compare them. On the other hand, i'm sure it's probably the lens. Do you have a camera with microadjustment?
  9. Hey Mate, Did you send a PM? I don't have it Maybe re-send? Yep, i was taking photos of the Red S14. It's the only one i saw, but just to make sure we are on the same page, Black Impulse deep dish wheels, Parked near the tree in the garages? ACT plates i think. Sweet and clean car!
  10. OH..now your just teasin That's one area of the market i didn't make it into... Must be because your so successful!
  11. I got a fair few photos of it, but i can't post any due to pics not being sorted i.e. which ones are to be used in magazine or not. This will be done by wednesday/thursday. PM me if you want more details
  12. Start marketing yourself
  13. Yeah Mat, PI = Performance Imports. Loving the look. Kind of vintage look. I think it definitely suits these cars. And omg, girls!? lol.
  14. Am i able to sign up to SAU even though i don't have a skyline? I meant to ask this question on the day. If so, would love too as i fully support this club in what they do and practice.

  16. Spotted Lap 1 - Audi R8 on saturday along falcon st. Sounds nice!
  17. Pretty sure flickr has killed this quality and the low res size does too, but heres a teaser photo. Once hearing back from PI i plan on making a few wallpapers on my website from this event so stay tuned
  18. Is your monitor calibrated? Because mine is and the colours are fine to me? Just really vibrant, but i wouldn't say its too much, just a super shiny engine bay P.S. I can release the photos also, so PM me or email me at [email protected]
  19. Wow... I'm so much more knackered than any track days i've attended. I think because i paid a lot of attention with my own eyes as well as my cameras. Some amazing calibre of cars today, great day, great weather, great people. Was good to chat to some of you, i had to leave early to go to Marulan but by the time i got there, their was about 10 cars left, so it was pretty much a waste to leave. Great to meet Tenchi, hope his photography sales/CD went well. Sorry Ando, i was busy pr0ning over that black 32GTR with a seriously built motor when everyone went to the drivers briefing, so i took the opportunity to take photos whilst everyone was gone. I won't be able to post many photos at all until Jerry has sorted through what they want for the magazine, so until about tuesday or wednesday. Great day overall! Thoroughly enjoyed it Will definitely be attending texi!
  20. Nice shot Dan! I like the framing but too much saturation for me on my calibrated Dell IPS monitor.
  21. Awesome! Thanks Ando for the compliments I look forward to attending all SAU events and i am sure this will be a great event (and cold too, hope my fingers don't freeze). See you all there on Saturday!
  22. Nice Mat! I like the opacity it has been set at. not too much, but shows enough. The intercooler piping is a bit distracting but thats only because it has a scoop. I still agree with one of the above posters, you should clone out the sticker in the top left and rego sticker in the right of the windscreen But overall, excellent!
  23. Hahaha yes although you've been their plenty of times in a magazine because you are a great club Check out Hot4s this month, in their online forums review, didn't realize you have so many members The magazine in relation is Hi Performance Imports/Performance imports. Ok i will PM s13Deviat. Thanks Andy.
