Sau:nsw Official Wakefield Trackday 2010 - Full
FST513 replied to S13Deviat's topic in Events Archive
I shall be there photographing til my hearts content with the screaming noises of RB's embedded into my eardrums -
Don't get a cheap one. The expensive ones are expensive for a reason. Better support, less vibration, stronger and more expandable e.g. the legs can go everywhere and so can the neck of the tripod. For a beginners tripod, a SLIK or manfrotto tripod would do a good job for relatively cheap (between $100-$200 with the normal panhead). I suggest buying a ballhead like a Manfrotto 488RC2 for ease of manouevrability when panning etc it is less restrictive than a panhead. Unless you plan on supporting 400 2.8's and big super tele lenses, there is no need for you to invest in expensive tripods like Gitzo's unless you become professional, need them essentially for landscape photos or super strong support for heavy stuff or unless you have the money to blow on them Hope i helped.

What happened to your car that day? Saw you hammering around the track probably once, and then it looked like you were taking it easy? Did something break? Can post up pics of your car if you want too.

Hey Godspeed, Send your photos to [email protected] . Josh will just forward your email to Jerry anyway. He's pretty busy, but he should reply within a day or two Good luck champ!

Thanks for all the thanks Simon and Rallye and everyone else! Your photos turned out schweet also Rallye and i'm sure Simons will also once he posts them up Is this photoshoot getting dedicated/featured towards the deceased? I hope it gets a mention, just goes to show that even the worst of things can happen to sensible people and its not a "hoon".

T'was good to meet some of you guys, unfortunately the police were awaiting us by the time we got to homebush from SAU to meet up with the NS guys, so we ended up just doing a little mini shoot with FST32R which was the only car left as i think Brian didn't want to get into trouble as he is prepping his car for superlap. Had heaps of fun, processing photos at the moment and will post them up when i'm done with them (or what i am allowed to anyway). Thanks to the organisers, was super fun, looking forward to the next one!

I'm still in for this. Providing how many members there will be and how trust worthy they are, i will let people use my strobes (depending on battery life in the portable battery) so they can get some use first hand on strobes/advice on how to use them. Don't blame me if you go out and spend money to buy some Also, any idea on what photogs triggers are would be great, because we don't want to be firing off the same channel I'd like to know how many photog's are heading there also, any idea? Also, rough idea of cars at the moment is about 25-30'ish, so it should be a good turnout and plenty of photos to process
