  1. Sidd are you copying me? Lol. Great shot man! Really nice. La-Pa it looks like?
  2. At the moment i edit on my 40" Full HD TV, i don't like it! Yes, its awesome to have such a uber huge screen, but the colours are a bit off and there not as easy to calibrate as a normal Monitor, but i still enjoy it lol. Yes, same with me, i got 2 screens and each one is different lol.
  3. Spyder 3 colour calibration is probably the best colour calibration tool but you definitely pay for it! $300 for the basic kit and then $400'ish or something for the pro kit... Worth it, if your making money from photography, but for the hobbyist/amateur, it's so not worth it lol. I think macbook (pro's??) have there own kind of inbuilt colour calibration tool?
  4. Thats just a ballhead bracket off a flash stand yeah?? I know image melbourne sell them, but unsure if they sell them seperately... You can try Flash Zebra but they are in the states... Maybe search google for Flash bracket accessories or something?? www.imagemelbourne.com.au www.flashzebra.com
  5. If you have a Polarizer that is what it is intended to do. Cut down glare, its just like a pair of sunnies. If you have a Circular Polarizer it acts just like a GND (Graduated Neutral Density) filter, where half is clear, half is dark (Depends on the CPL how many stops of light it is). Just in case you didn't know. Great pics Xmetal and Zennon
  6. Well I’m heading to the snow this weekend, so probably the weekend after that I might be heading out, you keen to come? Yeah assistants helped yesterday I tell ya that, all of our gear woulda blown away! Was funny when she was trying to hold the umbrella getting blown away!
  7. Yeah hahaha maybe not Italian, but definitely not Russian or ukranian lol. Pics turned out alright, I wasn’t really trying to achieve much, didn’t want to kind of take over your work or anything, just snapped a few pics. Some turned out alright although using a wide angle doesn’t help, I needed to get like in her face almost if I wanted some better shots lol, should of taken my 70-200. I would of moved the flashes around and changed power settings a bit more if It wasn’t so windy and cold! Next time I’ll take more pictures!
  8. Russian or Ukranian, hahaha don’t know where you got that from Sidd hahahaha. Definitely Italian I say! Hahaha. Yeah no problems, they had some hardcore filter stacking there haha, ND4, CPL, ND8, GND, and another ND4 if I needed it lol. Vignetting all the way from 10mm to 16mm  Will let you know when I head out again!
  9. Taking a break from motorsports at the moment, until the end of november and then going to start up again, until then, i'm trying to experiment with stuff, heres a few seascapes! Enjoy!
  10. Same as Sidd if you need anymore like. www.koryleungphotography.com but they are mostly track photos!
  11. I know you have already said you don't want too, but to all the other people out there looking for a special on camera gear, seriously beware buying from grey importers. Yeah it might be cheap, but just wait til something stuffs up and see how long it takes your gear to get repaired/replaced. I bought a 40D from a grey importer, it error 99'd and it took 3 months to get my camera back. If i bought it locally in Australia, it would of been sent off to canon and back within the month or i would of got a replacement/refund. Many things can go wrong with bodies, but even more goes wrong with lenses. Just be wary that what is cheap is expensive in the long run! If it works fine and perfectly for you, then dis-regard this message but it DOES happen and A LOT!
  12. Sweet pics Sidd! Did you gel the flash blue? It just looks to me like her arms are a lot bluer? I donno, maybe i'm trippin
  13. When i get home i'll post up my samples of splash photography, you have all got me motivated to do it again haha. Sidd - Sweet photo, i'm guessing extremely low shutter speed because of the motion blur? Flash seems like it was on camera or really close because of the harsh shadows behind and hard light. I think it works with this pic! Great photos people!
  14. FST513

    New Lens

Great choice Slim! Any reason why you got it over the Canon? Only because of price or?
  15. Nice Sid! You might want to give a brief explanation of how you did it, because i know a lot of people want to learn how to do this type of photography and would enjoy a read up
  16. Lepper - Well as many say you can always go f/4 with a 2.8 but you can never go 2.8 with a f/4  What you need is what you should get but that extra stop is always nice Zennon - Your lens possibly front/back focussing? Does your camera have micro adjustment? That would be my guess. Also what are your settings when you take a photo? Softness at 2.8 is not uncommon with the Sigma’s. There QC is terrible. Sidd – IS motors are like that, there is nothing to be worried about!
  17. Thing that should be in everyones bag = 70-200. You don't even need a camera. Just the lens. Take it to lunch and dinner, treat it well.Don't hurt it's feelings!
  18. Awesome car champ! Good price also, i think its reasonable! You going to anymore track days
  19. Great photos mate, love the B&W processing on some of them. Great captures!
  20. IF you want to "AEB" 5 images, the only option you have is the 1Ds series. I can't remember off the top of my head if 1D's do 5 or not.
  21. Nice Lepperfish! I think its hard with HDR because you know how it looked visually and you know how it looked before you combined the HDR, so that plays with your mind also. Looks good but! I don't see any visible ghosting which is always hard with HDR. Is this a single image HDR? Or 3/5/7/more? You using PS or Photomatix to create your HDR's?
  22. Hhhmmmm Random image of my car, mucking around in the pouring rain, too bad there weren't enough puddles in front of the car and i didn't have an extra flash with me
  23. No problem mate Pretty sure i will be heading out to the "Texikhana" SAU is holding on the 29th August (IF i'm not in NZ snowboarding) i think a few other 'togs are going as well, should be a good day. I might also be going to Circuit Clubs wakefield day on the 25th of July at wakefield. I will let you know
  24. Shot with a 400mm? You got a 400 2.8! Awesome. Unless you mean you have a 100-400 or something. Yeah i corrected that astra in photoshop for correct white balance, but it just seems like it was "flat" out of the camera. I donno, could be many things, but its just the one single photo.. Great pics by the way mate, good first attempt!
  25. Thanks for browsing my site champ! All shots were taken with a Canon 50D and a Canon 300 2.8L IS with a 1.4xTC stuck on them for most of them. At the SAU track day, panning shots were taken at 1/40th-1/80th and at BMW Super Sprint the shots varied again, between 1/30th-1/60th. Cars were going around 100-150 km/h. Reason i went lower was for more blur as well as more wheel motion blur. You are correct on saying that the hairpin is probably why you don't have so much blur because they were moving a bit slower. SAU was taken at Oran Park GP and BMW was at wakefield. With more practice you will definately get better, if this is your first attempt at panning then you have excelled! If your finding it hard to get good pans due to harsh lighting, use either a polarizer or an ND (Neutral Density) filter, or open up your aperture to lower your Shutter speed. You may need to stack or use a higher grade of ND filter to get the preferred shutter speed. Your last shot of the Astra seems really flat and "blue-ish". Is this an edit or incorrect white balance? Post up more shots mate
