I am toying with building / buying a GTS-t for the weight saving over a GTR for some track day fun. Was envisioning selling the stock engine and fitting a GTr lump, but perhaps someone can also tell me the exact differences in the engine, as far as block casting, crank, rods and head casting is concerned? Are low compression forged pistons available for the GTS-t block? Steel rods? Will a GTR head bolt straight on, or is it completely different? I know a fair bit about the GTR, having rebuilt (successfully....) several GTR engines with mildish mods for myself and customers, butknow little to nothing about the GTS-t engine. Pointers to sites with this info welcomed.
Whilst I think the GTR is unbelievably "clever" the weight of things conspire against them, my R33 GTR V Spec cost a fortune to run on track days as it plain ate tyres, AP six pot discs and expensive pads, and 2 gearboxes...
Thanks.
