  1. There is plenty of info here on this topic, although it may not be in the V-Series specific area. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/97215-painting-your-brake-calipers/page-1?hl=+duplicolour. I recently did mine the duplicolour way and am most satisfied. Of course the cost only remains cheap if you are able to do the job yourself. The requirements are outlined in the link. I didn't remove mine from the car, and managed ok. Be sure that you are able to properly bleed the system if you choose to remove the calipers. If you search this topic, it will reveal that there are those who get into trouble trying. Although the cost wasn't much, and there doesn't seem to be a lot to it, the job proved to be time consuming. I chose the crimson red colour with 2 coats of that over 3 of the base silver. The calipers ended up looking very similar in colour to the tail light lense. The more top coat applied, the deeper the colour will become.
  2. Thought I'd make good use of a recent present from my daughters updating my profile pic.
  3. Yes, checks out as suggested... thanks again
  4. This is in relation to an '03, auto, premium model. I have conducted an unsuccessful search, also have a G35 handbook, but am still non the wiser. On the console in close proximity the the transmission change lever, there is a rectangular switch showing Power, A\T and Snow. I assume the central position means Auto transmission and is for non specific driving mode; Power ?? - am using that presently, and then Snow allows for slippage in such conditions. The other that has me puzzled is the small circular 2 position push in button down below the right of the steering wheel. In small white lettering, it has AUTO1 on it. Thanks
  5. I'm a newbie to the Skyline scene, but my association with the Mountain and bikes goes back to the early '60's. I now have a 350GT; my recent intro post can be found in the newbie's thread of the V35's. I guess not the "real thing" as far as Skylines go - hey it's an oldies cruiser and an oldie I am. Just thought I'd sus out the interest in this event on this site, and am suprised there is presently so little?? My plan is to drive up on Frid and camp. However, I'm being a bit of a wuss and watching the forecasts. Hopefully there will still be a camp spot available early Mon when the 7 day forecast is revealed, and is hopefully found to be suitable. Seems to be warming up on Frid at this stage. My desire could wane if it's forecast to be in the high 30's+ on Sunday. Can't speak from first hand experience, it may not be news, and not even applicable to this event, but I've heard that it can take hrs waiting to get through the gates into the V8's, as a consequence of the security checking and the numbers involved
  6. Greetings people, I'm Peter, I recently purchased Rob Hickey's 350GT that was co-incidently advertised for sale on this forum. I have found the forum very useful in my research both before and since making the purchase. Considering the deteriorating state of roads in this part of the world, I am concerned about the long term welfare of the car. Can only hope for the better, but hope is all there is likely to be. To add to that, insects are in plague proportions at present; ah! I'll get to drive it one day :-(
