  1. I've allways wanted a r32 gts4 with a rb30 conversion
  2. That engine was a twin turbo v8 - not sure what make though - the car was called a saleen but the only car I know of called a saleen is a mustang? but it didn't look like that. There were quite a few kit cars etc there that I didn't know and had never seen - very interesting. Cheers
  3. If installing pon cams I'd recommend upgrading the valve springs to gtr items. With stock lift I'd say you should be able to hit 7500 but you'l certainly find out. Didn't you have a gt 30 with nissan exhaust housing before or am I getting mixed up? Cheers
  4. Is this group buy still on? Just wondering as awhile ago I had to replace a front brake line. Cheers
  5. Yep stock cams. 255 rwkw. Gets the next gear nicely upshifting @ 7500. Boost peaks @ about 19 or 20 psi then tapers off. Cheers
  6. I set mine at 8000rpm but change at 7500 - absolutely no problems and it sounds great up there!
  7. I was a bit disappointed about the NO promo girls though. I 'spose the guys buying the cars have hot girls around them all the time so they're not bothered! I was looking foreward to posting some pics up of some hotties!
  8. some strange ones too
  9. What does a sau member do on a saturday in Monaco?? Goto the top Marques luxury and supercar show!!!!
  10. Yes don't worry guys the car will be getting a retune from someone different probably in Brisbane. When I first installed the turbo kit before the tune it came on a LOT harder with next to no knock. I've run it down the quarter and after four passes I got a best of 12.89 - each run we leaned it out more and more as it's running rich as. I couldn't do any more runs as it was a competition event. Lots of wheel spin in first, sec and third, crappy 1 sec reaction time and stinking hot with track temps in the high fortys. And I'm a crap driver. Yes it certainly is a higglty pigglty dyno curve - not very smooth but by the end of it all I'd had enough of spending money on it. It's still bloody fast - you can't do much on the street as you just go too fast. Interestingly the tuner was making the car run leaner in some parts of the rev range and richer in others - towards the top end he leaned it out - but once on the other dyno with autronic other lambda sensor it turned out it was running very rich. I think his sensor was on the way out or something as I've had two other lambda sensors on it since and they've read the same. About 14.7 on cruise. Cheers
  11. rb 30 bottom end is good for antilag. What type of computer are you running? I'll be doing a retune with water methanol later on this year - the car feels great on a cold night but doesn't like hot humid days. Hopefully the water methanol will give it the power and response it gets on the cold nights. Still - being able to chirp 4th is fun!
  12. No worries, Have had a lot of pm's about the 2835 - looks like a few guys are fitting the kit. Keep us posted an how it goes once tuned - will be very interested in seeing how it goes. Cheers
  13. I think you pmed me the other day - sorry I didn't answer but have been busy. I'm in Europe and can't remember the name of the goo we used on the dump but I think gcg sell it - give them a ring and I'm sure they'll let you know. My dad will know - you can pm him his user name is grigor. The car has done over 10 000 k's with this turbo - no gasket just coppermix goo and no exhaust leaks. Cheers
  14. Hi there, Just thought you might be interested in this water methanol kit I'm purchasing to run permanenty on my r33. Will be running 50/50 water methanol and hope to reap the benefits os 110+ ocane all day every day! It has an electronic controller with laptop programmable maps so should be interesting... http://www.rx7store.net/ProductDetails.asp...gle+Deluxe+clog Won't be installing for awhile though. Also on the subject of dyno runs - if you get the tyres to sit on top of the front roller it won't matter how little or much weight you've got in the boot - the force of the dyno run will be pushing down on the tyres. I've had my car dynoed both ways and had wheelspin at only 340rwhp when sitting between the rollers. When sitting on top of the front roller the tyres actually ran cooler too. Dyno dynamics have certain set ways of stting up their dynos and it's quite interesting. Anyway - have fun Cheers
  15. Thanks for the replies, The boostedxtremes kits are the same cooling mist kits I posted the links about. I've ordered a cooling mist kit - the deluxe version with clog nozzle detector and water mist controller - comes with software to allow you to change the maps if you want. Things are a little more advanced than the days of the windscreen washer bottle etc! I think I'll retune to methanol - just mix 50/50 - you don't have to do it at the servo just check it before you go for a drive I 'spose. Will probably get a bigger tank than the one with the kit and mount it all in the boot. I can see why the engine note totally changes - hell you're upping the octane levels! Looking foreward to putting some timing back into the whale... Cheers
  16. I see the valentine one is an American unit. Is there any differences between American and Australian radars? Cheers
  17. Hi all, Have been thinking about getting a water/methanol injection kit lately - the fuel quality is questionable around where I live - the weather/humidity is the same but you get a new tank of fuel and next thing knock goes the pfc. I'd like to have the safety buffer that hi octane fuel can give. Here's a link to a US company that sells a kit with ''cooling mist controller.'' http://www.rx7store.net/ProductDetails.asp...gle+Deluxe+clog I seems to be allright for the money spent - has a clog nozzle sensor, cooling mist controller with laptop adjustable maps, 150 psi pump, tank, filter, non-return valve, nozzle, lines, boost sensor, inlet temp guage (leds) etc. Also see someone selling the low spec kit (without water mist controller) here: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...0injection&st=0 Anyway, I'm just interested if anyone else here has used any other kits - I've seen a few cheapies on ebay etc. After building the 2EO lambda sensor kit I'm ready for somethng else!!! Apparently some saabs and vovlos came out with water injection standard.... Would like to see some first hand experiences! Cheers
  18. http://www.rx7store.net/ProductDetails.asp...gle+Deluxe+clog Yeah it works out to be 440 us Did a currency conversion today and it worked out at 599aud - I haven't seen the us dollar double the aussie for awhile! Not sure about delivery though - would have to look into it. Also if 10 or 20 kits were purchased they would probably come down in price. http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi Not sure about delivery etc - this is for the unit with the cooling mist controller - the whole shebang. The Controller based package is designed for those that want a complete kit and are want every tool to make sure that things are working properly. This kit includes a Single stage kit with a solenoid, Brass water filter, digital air intake temp gauge with sender. This ships with our 1-25 psi adjustable boost switch and our Amazing Brass Checkvalve. 2.0 quart tank and taping kit and 150 psi pump. This kit also includes the PSI controller. Features Features Base Kit Configuration + Clog Nozzle Detector Arm/Disarm Switch LED 52 MM Digital Air Intake Temp Gauge 2.0 Quart Tank Brass Water Filter Controller Professional Packaging The only thing I don't like about this kit is it comes with a lower pressure pump but hell its still 150 psi! Just trying to help you get a more affordable kit - I'm interested but not too interested in spending nearly 1500 dollars! That's more than nitrous!!! I couldn't find anything else in aus although the evo and wrx guys make a lot of their own kits. Cheers
  19. HI MAFIA, PAYING OVER A GRAND FOR A WATER/METHANOL KIT SEEMS A BIT EXTRAVAGENT! DID A BIT OF RESEARCH ON THE NET TODAY AND CAME UP WITH THESE ONES AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES... http://www.rx7store.net/catagory_s/89.htm There's a few cool kits there - hell we're talking about a high pressure pump, nozzles, lines etc etc - should be able to come up with something a bit more affordable. These guys sell a kit with a computer controllable water mist controller too. Cheers Here's the cooing mist controller: http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/coolingm...0controller.htm
  20. blitz lm kit? fits allright - bummer the kid in the shop didn't know which way was up
  21. YEP I'VE GOT 255RWKW ATM AND DID TAKE THE TOP OFF THE AIRBOX AND AIR FILTER OUT FOR A DYNO RUN AND ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE. FACTORY SNORKEL AND AIRBOX, K&N AIR FILTER. R33GTST. PODS ARE FOR DEFECTS AND WHOOSHY SOUNDS - WE ALL LOVE WHOOSHY SOUNDS... CHEERS
