Yes they do - mine cost 170aud delivered a year ago, very easy to fit too. I've also been told that melpassi's don't hold good steady pressure - haven't had first hand experience though with the melpassis but with the fuel press guage on the dyno my nismo held rock solid fuel pressure with a bosch 044- no flicker at all. But as everyone seems to say you don't need an adjustable reg unless going crazy on power or want to put more rail pressure.

I had the same screech noise in my old rb20det. Bet it's the exhaust manifold to turbo gasket.

Going back to a S13 after having a R33
gtst25 replied to scottman's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think you can get the same economy from both cars. I had a ca18det s13 and could get just over 500k's on a careful drive - my r33 can get 550k's no problems - it all depends on how you drive - so many people on these forums have wound the boost up on the stock computer, stock intercooler, stock dump, drive with a lead foot and wonder why they get sh@t fuel economy. If I just wanted to go fast though I'd go the s13 - less big injectors to buy, less weight (I still think the s13 was such a happier car), front facing plenum etc. But the '33 is definately a better built car. I still don't know why they didn't race the silvias more when they came out. -
Hi Paul, I'm interested in seeing how you go with the air temp sensor - would be good to have. Good luck!

GT2835R ... which version and A/R size should I get?
gtst25 replied to Scooby_Steve's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've got the kit coming with the .68A/R. You can't get the larger A/R one in kit form - I've tried both nengun and greenline. If you get the turbo by itself you'll need to make a new dump, and probably new inlet/outlet. The kit comes with everything - new inlet, dump, heat shield, oil and water llines etc. The .68A/R should give you over 260rwkw without cams if you've got the right other usual mods. Good luck! -

Dad and I used to use laundry liquid/powder until we found out that laundry liquids have salt in them - not so good washing your car with salt water! If you're wondering why you don't get salt crystalising it's because you hose it all off before it dries. I stick with meguirs soft wash - if you take your time it does a great job. Cheers

I'll probably just do my new exhaust housing then. The manifold will probably need sandblasting and as it has a heat shield anyway it should be ok. Cheers!

CAN an RB26 twin turbo naifold fit an RB25?
gtst25 replied to rich_the411's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Gtr Geoff, Just interested in how well the GTS25t went and what sort of power it made? Did you use standard gtr turbos? Cheers! -
Hi there,' I'm just wondering if anyone here has had any exhaust parts ceramic coated in the Brisbane area? Just thinking about doing my turbo exhaust housing and exhaust manifold. Cheers!

Can you get a good PowerFC tune for around $300 in Sydney?
gtst25 replied to benl1981's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My r33 tune cost 240 dollars - 2hrs @ 120 dollars an hour - 209rwkw. I can get 530 k's no probs on the highway too! -
HKS GT2835 pro s seems the go but, $$$$
gtst25 replied to GunMetalR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I see in the catalogue that if you buy the turbo by itself it comes with the option of 0.68 or 0.87 A/R housings. http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/554 I've contacted both companies and they say that it can only come in kit form with the 0.68 A/R housing. Maybe that's his problem - maybe he's got the turbo with the smaller housing? I'm not sure what to do now - I don't want to buy a kit with the smaller housing if it won't perform... -

Of interest here's some pics of a 2835 pro s from sly33. After a lot of thinking I've decided to go this turbo - just getting quotes from nengun and greenline. sly33's getting 266rwkw@ 19psi, no cams just bolt it on. Hell on a cold night that must be 270.. I think he said he could get more but they didn't want to push it. 266 rwkw must be pretty exciting in rear wheel drive....! Only problem I can see with the 2835 is the exhaust housing is different - you'd have to get the kit with dump or make one yourself. I don't think I'd like to go much bigger on the standard manifold - the engine pic here shows that there's not much room left with the 2835. Good luck! -
Out of interest what power does your car make, and what mods do you have? Cheers
-
r31 nismoid and 180 fj20det - you are both running custom exhaust manifolds and external wastegates aren't you? Not really what I want to do as I want to keep the engine looking as stock as possible. Do you know if it's possible to go the 0.82 with an internal wastegate? I see on Nengun the HKS 2850pro s can come with .87AR - this has internal wastegate.... I think I'll send another email to horsepower in a box.

It's a street car that I like to take to track days etc. Ie Willowbank circuit and drag

You ended up going the GCG hi flow didn't you? Yeah I definately like the 2835 pro s - bugger they're so expensive. Cheers

Hi there, Sorry for another turbo thread! Having read a lot of threads about HKS and garret turbos on here, and taken my car to the limit of the standard turbo I am in the market for a bigger one. What I am looking at is a GT30 from horsepower in a box. A summary of what they say is: It's the smallest t3 style turbo from garret. Normally comes with .82 external wastegated exhaust housing. Has as standard .70 comp cover and garret dual ball bearing internals. * Unit can be supplied with a nissan RB .63 internally gated housing as a special offer making a great bolt on package. After emailing them and asking about getting the standard heat shields to fit they said it can be supplied with a smaller comp cover. They have also said it is a good responsive performer good for 280-300rwkw. My goal is around the 280 - 300 rwkw mark - the reason why I am leaning towards the GT30 is I don't want to go too small, especially since I will very likely be using a rb30 bottom end in the near future. I was looking at a hks 2850 pro s but they are a bit pricey at the moment. I think the GCG and GTRS will be too small if I'm looking at a 30 bottom end, but if anyone has a differing opinion please post away. I'd like to keep the stock exhaust manifold and internal gate as I want it to look as standard as possible, and it will bolt up to my nice split dump. I understand that a few people here have fitted gt30's - what specs were they? Any other recommendations? My car has got all the usual for a stock rb25: Bigger cooler PFC + PFC boost control kit 044 ADJ Press reg Will have bigger injectors + AFM Magic cat on the way + has 3'' exhaust. I am keen to order soon so please send some advise if you have any - I really don't want to spend my hard earned on the wrong turbo. I understand the GCG is capable of 265rwkw, but that was with different cams, ported head, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold etc. Thanks in advance. :uh-huh:

0.8mm gap instead of 1.1mm will I lose any power/response?
gtst25 replied to benl1981's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I guess heat range 6 should be ok for stockish car. I doubt you'd have any problems going to heat range 7 though - I've had no probs even on cold mornings - I run .85mm gap, 15 psi, 210RWKW. -
I'm in for one. Is it possible to do COD for a bit extra? Cheers!

High vs low mount ex manifold: performance advantage?
gtst25 replied to 180bfj20det's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Good to know SK, I'm getting to the stage where I'm looking at a better turbo than standard - just don't want to go too small as I'm also looking at doing an rb30 bottom end...... I very much like the idea of being able to bolt the GCG straight on and it looks the same. From what I've heard I might be happy enough with a GCG, tomei pon cams and a good tune. Cheers -
High vs low mount ex manifold: performance advantage?
gtst25 replied to 180bfj20det's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Sydney Kid, Just interested in how the r34 was to drive with the GT30 - did it lose responce in the important 5th gear 100km/hr zone? How tidy was the install? Did all the standard heat shields fit ok? Cheers! -
What ignition advance do you run?
gtst25 replied to 180bfj20det's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Which rb25 ignition map did you integrate? Sydney Kid's base map or mine? I'd say the reason why you goto load point 20 is the extra capacity of the engine - it just breathes more. I'd like to know what the numbers on the fuel map stand for. On my map they start on 99 and go up to 149 at the highest. When I plugged in the pfc and drove it around for awhile I also found it ran a bit rich. When the bloke dynoed mine he first got the boost right (after checking afr's weren't too lean - it was running quite rich ) then the AFR's, then the timing. This took quite awhile - at the end he mucked around with all three a bit. I'd still like to go for a drive with a lambia sensor to see what the afr's are - it'd be interesting to see what's going on. What's the highest AFR you can safely run when just say cruising at 100km/hr? It'd be interesting to see how good fuel economy you could get - although from what I can gather the pfc's have that set 14.5:1 afr when running in closed loop?
