It's great practice for the track. Gear changes and throttle control play a big part in 1/4 mile and show massively in your ET. Transfer those skills across to a 2-4km circuit and you can see how much time can be gained/loss just in gear changes alone.
I agree Nick you need to work on your 60's. Back in the day (before my flywheel turned to dust) I was doing 1.6's on worn out Nankangs with less power. You have a solid 0.25sec ET to gain just on improving your 60's.
I was quite surprised at how well the "2 days for $65" worked at the v8's this weekend.
Great value if you go for both days (as I did) but I didn't think many people would go on the Sunday for $65. To my surprise it was way more busy today than Saturday (took me 1.5hrs to get out of the carpark) so I guess it all worked out.
You are right about WTAC having almost zero on track but lots of pits entertainment too. The Pro class really needs some changes to the format to get more cars out on track each session.
im competitive and like numbers so install 'runkeeper' and use it to improve your walk/run/ride.
Disclaimer: the furthest ive gotten is installing the app
I agree that watching 3 cars do 3 laps in each pro session is annoying, Cut it down to 1 group and make it 5mins longer or open it up to 30 spots so that we can actually see some cars.
I had my 2.5yo ute detailed yesterday, the best $180 i've ever spent. It now looks in better condition than the day I picked it up from Holden.
Seriously, with the amount of money people on this forum spend on mods, take a months break and get it detailed instead.
I use MPEG_StreamClip to edit out what i don't need and to convert/compress to another format.
However my video's compared to PezHeads are like night and day so use whatever he suggests
Get the double suction mount (way better stability) from here:

and get the GoPro accessory from here:

The video quality of all 1080p cameras is generally very similar, all of them have sh1t sound so you will need an external mic plug (Contour+ has this) as a high priority.
The standard mounting hardware for the GoPro is average at best, too many arms and angles required to get it where you need it and if you only have 20sec to get it mounted (multiple cars in line at an event) it can be quite annoying. I'd suggest getting an aftermarket mount from camzilla I use the double suction mount with the swivel arm it does every angle imaginable from 1 point and is rock solid.
