  1. Turn 5 has also been changed due to the extra pit lane added to the outside of the curb meaning you can put all 4 wheels over the curb (which isn't a curb, just a concrete strip dividing the track from the pitlane). The exit of Turn 9 is also much wider giving better exit speeds. Laptimes will be easily a full second quicker than last year prior to any car development.
  2. That is why I got the Contour+ edition, external mic port and even just a $9 jaycar mic makes a massive difference.
  3. looks like an interesting race on strategy ahead of us tomorrow after quali...
  4. so about 25 spots remaining with 2 weeks to go....time to start asking other clubs...
  5. I watched you at both the Bathurst 12hr and last weekends EC round, big difference in performance. Looks like you are down a fair bit of horsepower and struggle for grip.
  6. The R34 might be 10-14 years old physically, but mechanically it is 25yrs old (sure its had some tweaks along the way but essentially its all late 1980's tech)....something that most people forget!
  7. Yes both were timed and both were $50-100ea more expensive.
  8. number of events or number of attendee's? Both CircuitClub and Trackschool were on the week before and the week after the SAU day, both were booked out, both were considerably more expensive. It seems that "car club" trackdays struggle to fill spots, whether that is not enough interest from that club or people from other clubs wanting to attend but feel intimidated or dont know about the event. Where as "open clubs" dont have any trouble filling spots. Go figure...
  9. good reason for that....

  16. Thanks for a great day out. Weather was perfect for shorts and a singlet, track was in great condition (compared to last week when I was down there it looked like a river not a track). Not many attended but typically the field was made up of mostly noobs which was great. Considering the amount of noobs there was very few spin outs on the track (except for the 2 that entered pit lane backwards grr). Heeeaps of track time, I used an entire 20L jug of fuel I fitted brand new Hoosier full-slicks in the morning, my first time ever on new tyres let alone new slicks. They were up to temp in 2 full laps (compared to 3 laps for 2yo semi-slicks) they were much more stable under braking and after dropping the pressure of my back left by 2psi all 4 tyres held up perfectly for every lap of every session. The braking ability of full slicks is amazing, i've never braked so deep into the last corner and turn 2 (with still more to go as my balls get bigger). The slicks were 2 inches shorter than my previous semi's so my gearing was out, took me 2 sessions to figure out the right gears for each corner, a nice 10,000rpm down the main straight fixed that Knocked a full second off my previous PB, but did about 10 laps under my previous PB giving me a good consistent run of 10.8's to 11.0's which im happy about considering ive still never had a wheel alignment and I have 3 different spring rates fitted not to mention 10yo steel shocks. Could have made some quick changes in the pits between sessions but just decided to leave it as is for the day. Bring on CircuitClub on 25/4
  17. i'll bring my own cling wrap and bucket
  18. Homebush carpark 6C i heard...
  19. I would like to observe Fatz and Druncan
  20. Off-topic slightly but last week i bought a brand new set of hoosier slicks in 13 inch for my little american legend car for $95ea. They are oval track tyres, but $95ea for fresh slick rubber as opposed to the $50ea ive been paying for 1.5yr old semi's, im stoked!
  21. Approx how many runs each? My guess is 3-4, based on 3 minutes turn around for each run.
  22. That was the perfect opportunity for them to let him go, he hasn't performed since Schuey was driving for Ferrari.
